  1. Nice bases. I think a wash on the skin, and possibly the pink would make it look a lot nicer though But thats just me
  2. Picture here Also looking for ice golem or december acolyte PUPPETS (And any other puppets you might be interested in selling)
  3. Ahh thanks guys Just finished reading book 2 and starting on book 3 so glad to know. I'm now unsure whether I'll use her as an alt for tina, or even put her on storm's base. Cheers anyway though
  4. Hi all, This has been bugging me and I've read and re-read the fluff several times and still dont get it. What on earth is snow? The woman. Is she some kind of witch, controlling storm? They dont interact in game, so why have it? I'm intending to get one and use it as an alternative to rasputina Jack
  5. Looking forward to seeing pictures It's always nice to see someone who's new to miniatures post stuff. Often, its amazing :') As for eyes and lips... Paint the bottom lip your chosen colour. Leave the top lip bare, or it will look very strange. I dont paint eyes, perhaps a black wash around the eye socket? You might need a very fine brush for the lips. Find something that still has its tip, and put the tiniest bit of paint onto it
  6. As suspected... Kang looks like an absolute BOSS. Look how chunky he is :') Oh, and your post was hilarious and thats coming from a whippersnapper
  7. Will continue reading on your blog in a minute. Nice to see they've fixed this - Also, a while back, I remember you had a post about malifaux UK masters lists... Do you still have that blog post? I couldnt find it earlier, and found it useful for various things, primarily looking at what top players take with various masters Jack
  8. Hi all, after the following: Prefer unpainted, unassembled, but will take anything as I can strip it - Snow from the snow storm model (The woman with her arms outstretched) - Puppets of the ice golem and december acolyte from puppet wars - The mechanical tentacles (Or anything similar) That come with alternate ramos. - Any other puppets from puppet wars - Miss Terious Willing to buy with paypal, or trade for malifaux or other gaming stuff. Just let me know. I'm in the UK.
  9. I honestly dont mind too much... We always just set up the terrain in a mutually agreeable fashion, or at tournaments, have it pre-set. Not the biggest flaw with Malifaux. (That said, I can't think of a single other big flaw. I do love this game)
  10. I think the trick to achieving some modicum of balance, is to set up the table, flip for any special terrain (How do you balance a scrap pile when its arcanists vs rezzers?) Then have players declare their crews. Whilst not foolproof, it lets people know what they're in for. "Oh, there's a river? I'll take some silurids." etc. That said, I doubt most games of malifaux are done by declaring faction. Most people only have a single crew from most factions. But then again, thats their choice.
  11. I think that would look great! Her pose is very strange, and I think the inclusion of anything in her hand really adds to the model (And also makes yours unique). I'm definitely not the worlds best painter, so the fact I could paint the cards says something! If you want to paint in detail that small, I'd recommend getting a kolinsky sable hair brush. Hold their point phenominally well, and a pleasure to use. Winsor and newton series 7 (Like this) are great Expensive, but well worth it IMO.
  12. Been working on some coryphees - Ruined them with the bases I think, not sure why. They're a pain to travel with. Always breaking, but lovely models: Also working on Acolette. Here's the start, havent blended the yellow to the orange or red yet though :/ Hope you enjoy
  13. Good to hear you've ordered some rotten belles. They are *VERY* good for their pointcost. Grave spirit is also very good, but at the cost of the chihuahua. I like canine remains with Mcm, but they die fast. Very fast. I might put a punk zombie or two, In my experience, they pair very well with belles. Take it you've got a fleshy construct? Maybe get a second. Even when using Mcm as a combat master, you'll often have enough parts to summon one, or two, flesh constructs over the course of a few turns.
  14. Oh, by all means :') I forgot because I'm not a massive fan of them :') But yeah, replace the punk zombie with a nurse will go a long way.
  15. Mcmourning (He's like dr. Frankenstein) runs this crew very well. Try something like: Ressurectionists Crew - 35 - Scrap Dr. Douglas McMourning -- 7 Pool Zombie Chihuahua [1ss] Canine Remains [2ss] Canine Remains [2ss] Canine Remains [2ss] Canine Remains [2ss] Canine Remains [2ss] Canine Remains [2ss] Canine Remains [2ss] Punk Zombie [5ss] Rotten Belles [4ss] Rotten Belles [4ss] Sebastian, Morgue Assistant [6ss] Switching out the rotten belles, the punk zombie and even sebastian for other 4-5ss minions you like the look of. You'll also need a flesh construct, or maybe 2, to summon
  16. Bit late, but just wondering if anyone's driving through the kidderminster-worcester area? Jack
  17. Hi all, Missed out on ordering them from gencon as I was on holiday without internet :'( But fortunately, I've heard they're all going to be released before christmas, One a month. I want to do all 3 crews (Railroad, dark debts, misaki) so one a month suits me. I can buy it, model and paint them up, and be finished before I get the next one. I'm just wondering if anyone has any concrete dates, or the order they're going to be in? Thanks in advance, Jack
  18. Troll trader is great. See if you have and LGS, they should have malifaux. It varies but there's a decent following meaning a lot of LGS will stock it
  19. Sounds like oil from the mould release. Dunk them in very warm water, wash them with soap, or spray some oven cleaner on them and rinse. Or all 3, depending on how severe it is. This gets rid of the oilly mould release that stops paint (even primer) sticking, so your paint will then work normally Use a primer, if you werent before. Also, change your water. There might be something in it making your paint funny.
  20. You are correct. Killing a model reduces its wounds to 0. It then dies, dropping counters, or not in the case of voracious rats, summoning rats instead. Sacraficed removes the model. It does not drop counters, nor trigger rats as the wording for voracious rats is "model is killed." its a massive distinction between them in malifaux, which is quite an odd concept at first! Magic resistant gives you armour vs spells. MR2 gives you armour +2. Which rulebook are you using? I'll try and get you a page number
  21. Hi all, Planning on getting the dark debts box when it's out, have a few models now (from gencon) so am wanting to paint them up. But I'm wondering, what would look good as a honeypot casino style base? The rest of my neverborn are on wooden flooring, but I fancy something slightly different. Ideas?
  22. Hi all, I play a variety of wargames and for every single one, on the forums, people are coming up with homebrew rules for units and characters they want to represent. I havent noticed this with malifaux. Does anyone have any ideas why? I'm thinking its due to the complex nature of the game. Units interact in various ways, and that can affect a lot of the game. Make something too OP, and it's no fun, and silly to play. I'm tempted to also attribute it to the nature of malifaux players. They're a different breed to most wargamers I've met (In a good way), but tend to want different things out of their game. That said, I have a few ideas wandering round in my head, from mounted samurai for the Ten Thunders, using the new mounted rules, to a showgirl dressmaker that buffs manaquins and summons them and doves out of scrap counters. Thoughts?
  23. I love malifaux as is. And I'm content to play it in its current state. However, some schemes need to be redressed. Example is Neverborn, kidnap. I use this if I'm expecting a close or tough game, or dont use it if I intend to go easy on my opponent. It's easy VP - every list has some chaff that will die, no doubt, especially if you put some effort into killing it. It's also unnanounced, and can get 2 VP off that. That's pretty powerful. Other schemes, just aren't taken, at all. There are loads of examples, but ones I can think of are seamus's specific one. For a start, you MUST take the CCK to complete it, and it's damn near impossible with it's cb of 3. Another example is reclaim malifaux, the neverborn specific one. It's not terrible per se, but requires a lot of interactions from your crew, where the VP can be achieved so much easier elsewhere.
  24. robert sheehan (C4 Misfits, nathan) as seamus. Down to the irish accent. Charles dance (Tywin lannister GoT) as nicodem maybe. Neverborn masters are trickier
  25. Just set that movie to download... Might grab a couple of other 80s kung fu films to get me excited about ten thunders :')
