There are a lot of things Colette's crew can do. How about Disappearing Act on a model sat on one of the markers in Shared Line in the Sand so you can interact without having to kill the model in your way? Or Claim Jump..got an enemy crew sat in the middle of the board, well u can cat Disappearing act 6 times in the last turn of the game (dont forget the re-flip for an extra turn to flip again if the game does continue, to try and stop it from doing so) and un bury them all outside of the Claimjump area. And what about a big threat coming your way, u can attack a model up to 20" inches away with as many as 7 attacks and leave nothing within 18" of it when you have finished, thanks to Mannequin and Companion. Those are just a few things you can do. I am working on putting together a new tactica for the girls, more focused on tactical actions and combo, hopefully it will give others some more insight into things I have learned whilst using them.

Just one other point to note, you get 1 vp forgetting the evidence in the opponents deployment zone, and 1 vp for getting both the evidence markers outside of the deployment zone. 1 vp for the nuetral too. The way i read it sounds like you got 1 vp for just one of the markers outside of the enemy deployment zone? Apologies if im not right. Still a win though if I read it correctly, but 3-2.

All about the rankings! haha lol Im glad to say Rankings didnt seem to make any difference at the weekend and I doubt if they are used at the GT that they will affect it at all.

Terrifying? Thats why they invested all those Constructs! lol It will prob be the girls for me, with some Ramos support maybe, hopefully with Kaeris or maybe some new Showgirls from book 3?.. By then I shouldnt have so many surprises in my games like I do now when I face Masters I have never played against before...can't wait!

thanks to all my opponents for my games....i got to play some of u i hadn't before and almost all my games were against Masters I havent played against before, so good learning curve for next time. I enjoyed all my games, and had some hard fought battles. Enjoyed them all so thanks guys. Thanks Dom for a fun event. One bit of feedback....can this event be organised next year to not coincide with a big event weekend, as that bumped up the cost of hotels, and for those of us travelling, it added to the cost of attending. Actually,try it out with a Coryphee Duet when your confident your gonna kill you target anyway...for the sack of one action you gain an extra soulstone, nice

I cant say I agree.... There is far more to Malifaux than just the tournament scene. The game was founded on its fluff and the models, the community will take it wherever it goes in the end. There will be the tournament scene, the local club scene, friends playing at home, and the special events and scenario events. This Ranking system will not not stop the game being able to do both, as the game is much wider reaching than just the tournament format.

Welcome through the Breach, it is a strange place you find yourself in, but one with lots of possibilities and rewards for those who are not faint of heart. Just be prepared to never leave! Hope you enjoy your stay. Any questions, there are plenty of us around to help and point you in the right direction.

Well, as this idea was originally discussed between myself and Magic at the start, im happy to take the reins on this, in conjunction with James and Jo one or both of you want to get involved? I am quite keen to get this organised, and have been since we had the idea... As for official Wyrd event, the difference is that (as I understand it) an official Wyrd event receives Wyrd support in the way of donated prizes. Not a massive thing but it all helps make an event more successful. As a TO, it is also nice to work with Wyrd to bring an event to life for the benefit of all.

Magic, Hope you reconsider quitting malifaux. Ive made a few good friends so far thanks to this game, and like to think you are one of them, so seeing you leave the game wouldnt be good. I dont think anyone would have any hard feelings about you having an opinion. Well You've always got friends at the club to come and play with.

The situation on running this is to be confirmed. I know other tournamants have gone ahead when not run by a Henchman, e.g. the Uks national GT held annually. As long as a Henchman is in attendence it is usually fine and supported by Wyrd. Will check with Magic on this and see if it is still possible to push this event forward. This train isnt off the tracks just yet!...

yeah, I wasnt questioning the validity of Jo's right to TO the GT, just using it as an example that you can run a tournament and not be a Henchman, just so long as you have Hencham in attendance.

Magic, I thought that there was no requirement to be a Henchman to be the TO. Just need attendance by a Henchman for it to be officially recognised. Is Jo a Henchman for example, she is organising the GT

Id suggest people still go and play if they are not in it for the Rankings. If you decide there is a marked change in peoples attitudes and approach, fair enough, but atleast give it a go before ruling out going to an event which happens to have Ranking going on. If as a community we agree Ranking hasnt worked, once we have tried it, we can always revert to non rankings again I guess. Although it should be given a fair chance to work and flourish.... @Magic & Fenrir, I appreciate the sentiment about views against, but to be fair their have been views from both sides, including non henchman supporting this. I think we should have faith and just try this out, and as I mentioned above, give it the benefit of the doubt for now at least. Try and if it doesnt work, its your choice not to attend future Ranked events, until such time as the community as a whole decides (if it decides ofcourse) to stop ranked events
