Lately I have been very interested in the Hamelin the Plagued and Collodi Crews and am currently trying to find the money to buy either or both (upcoming wedding really hampers the spending money).
In the mean time I have been reading the various threads on Hamelin and anti-Hamelin and Collodi as well as following the (heated) discussion on tier lists.
I have never played a game of Malifaux, I have a blast painting crews however and I'll be mostly playing with my dad and/or wife who have never played a game of Malifaux, but my dad has played other wargames, my wife has not.
I have also played a few wargames.
My dad is a solid strategist and I have a feeling he's more able to learn the rules and delve into the synergies of a master but my wife is playing purely to do me a favor and isn't likely to look op tactica on the internet, for example, to get better
I currently have Seamus, Collette and Rasputina.
My question is this:
Taking my opponents in account and my inexperience with Malifaux, will my opponents have fun if I choose to play Hamelin/Collodi in boxset vs boxset games?
Will my opponents (again taking into account their varying levels of gaming experience) have fun playing Seamus or Collette or will they get frustrated by the Steep learning curve (Collette) or whatever is wrong with Seamus (even in a Seamus vs Collette game)?
I'm not a competitive player and having fun is the most important thing I just really like the models in Hamelin/Collodi boxsets.
I'm aware that none of you know my dad or my wife but perhaps you found yourself in a similar situation.
