  1. To me it proves they are trying to limit growth of the older masters. I can understand it from a business point of view but it id little annoying.
  2. I think Miss Pack was first, but I could be wrong.
  3. I though it would be nice to have thread for everyone who want to order Terrain and accessories with black friday sales. I've found the following. http://store.advanceddeployment.com/category/new http://tectoniccraftstudios.com/ http://www.on-the-lamb.com/content/2012/11/21/winter-savings-save-until-dec-14th/ http://www.masterclassterrain.com/
  4. FYI: the Normal Nurse is not undead... its the exact same stats as a normal nurse. Just a better sculpt.
  5. but when mindless it doesn't really impact them. The biggest issue with the arise ability is that you need to pull back your swarm of zombies from 10 inches away to 6 for the summon. this is great if you play a packed board full of terrain and you basically jam up a bottle neck.
  6. I agree with Visquaz, the box is not worth it, especially when the avatar has 3 spiders. For Arcanists I found Mei Feng, Ramos, Kaeris have a lot of models that mix and match, and it sounds like you know the list pretty well. Colette while excellent is a stand alone crew, you can legally mix and match her crew models, but you lose a lot of synergy. I find the same is for Rasputina, her models are for her, and she rarely takes others, the closest thing i can think of is for her is Marcus, because some of the beasts (slateridge mauler & december something or other) help balance out her crew a lot. I found that the fire gamin in Kaeris box are not that great, and you want to switch to the Rail workers as fast as possible with her. Also the Rail workers are really good at giving one damage to Gunsmiths. You might want to skip the Kaeris box and just get her and 1 gunsmith. If you see your self playing 2 gunsmiths a lot, then the box is worth it. I would start with the following purchase list Ramos Blister Ramos avatar Electrical creation Ramos Avatar 2x LSPA Mei Feng box 1 blister of SPA (after avatar you have 6 spiders to magnetize) Kaeris Box or (Kaeris and 1 gunsmith) More to add for this if budget allows Mechanical rider Rail Golem Colette list if you want it Colette box Corephe blister (2 if you don't magnetize them) Mechanical doves Look else where for raspy list. I'm a fan of the Wendigo over the Essence of Power. and that is a whole other discussion thread.
  7. I usually play Seamus with a nurse and either sue or McTavish. This way the nurse give reactivated on turn to for speed manifesting and not really being a waste for rest of game. Turn 1,3,4 she's reactivating sue nor McTavish. Last 2 turns is claiming objectives or healing.
  8. Some avatars are definitely worth rushing to manifest, and building your crew around. Ramos Seamus Nicodem Levi Others are good models to have, and when you can manifest, to go for it. You don't rush for it, but well worth taking. McMourning Zoraida Sonia Somer Hamelin Vikis Others are models you pay to have an optional plan B if things go bad late game. Raspy Kirai Lastly are avatars that were made because they needed to make one for each master and they wanted something different for people to try for the sake of it and do something different. Collette Perdita Hoffman Dreamer Lady J Marcus Lilith Pandora I consider the first 2 list worth buying the avatars, the second are if your feel like it. But won't see play regularly.
  9. I played Somer with them for the first time and a question came up. Can you cheat a flip when they explode?
  10. It would be best to agree with your fellow players, Simple if not quite as elegant as magnetizing all the models to change bases is to get some 30mm disk or extra bases and use FunTak (Yellow or blue gummy stuff) to stick you 25MM square bases on them, and measure from that base.
  11. I tried Ramos and Colette together with teh mobile toolkit. In one turn I disappearing acted with trigger a Shikohm, Dead Rider & Jack daw. The only thing that I believe can deal with that is a swarm list like Levi & Hamelin swarm generator.
  12. do you actually have that many necropunks?
  13. I thought I'd try to see if I can make a gremlin only crew at 80SS, and I just realized I had to leave out some. Outcasts Crew - 80 - Brawl Som'er Teeth Jones -- 7 Pool + Som’er and Peaches, Avatars of Indulgence [2ss] 4 Giant Mosquitos [8ss] Ophelia Lacroix [8ss] Bayou Gremlin [2ss] Francois Lacroix [5ss] Gremlin Taxidermist [6ss] Gremlin Taxidermist [6ss] Hog Whisperer [5ss] Pigapult [4ss] Rami Lacroix [6ss] Raphael Lacroix [6ss] Slop Hauler [4ss] Slop Hauler [4ss] Stuffed Piglet [3ss] Stuffed Piglet [3ss] Stuffed Piglet [3ss] Warpig [8ss]
  14. This is a major case of Paper, Rock, Scissors, with Strategies tossed in for just to make things clearer **sarcasm**. Seamus unfortunately has a lot of bad match ups because he is mostly fear based, which is the main reason his avatar was made. I don't think a revamp is needed, a couple new toys woudl be fun. Resser have a couple extremely powerful models but people don't count them. I'm talking about Nurse & Night terrors. Nurse combos with a lot of things, and effectively speed manifest all their masters. 3 Night terrors will win a lot of games, while the rest of you army is just a big distraction.
  15. I think Wyrds main goal in designing is to make more options to play, not just revamp the existing. The Book one masters will eventually need to be "retired" for getting boosts. With only releasing 25-30 models a years and 5/6 masters year its not feasable to keep them all in most resent levels. The current power creep is not too steep so I can't complain. The best I think we can hope for are models like Yin and Chiaki who have abilities that can fit into seamus crew. So far in book 4 I've seen little or no models that can be hired out of faction with zoraida, Spirits for Kirai are minimal, same for beast for Marcus. Where they did try an boost existing faction they make them usable by multiple master (Mctavish is good with Ophelia, Somer, Viki, Vonschill, Ressers {nurse combo, and 3 corpse} , and lastly Marcus due to beast synergy). To keep the conversation constructive, I'd try and suggest abilities or models that you would like to see that are mixable to boost multiple crews at once. Even cross factional. I'm still leading to a Generic 'Lacky' totem for the 3 original resser masters that's Manifest friendly. Also will count as copy cat killer for scheme purposes. I find the resser master (except kirai) have the nicest avatars and it really fits their theme well.
  16. I don't think they will make an errata to buff a model. Cuddling for balance is one thing, but buffing opens a whole can of worms rules wise, because then they would be expected to do it for all master eventually. But I do see them making a new models to boost a crew (ie Snowstorm and Silent one for Raspy). A 1 SS totem that lets you bring your Avatar for free, counts as copy cat killer for Scheme purposes, and will survive a manifest would fit this. Currently I never see the Copycat killer in play, and they've already made a second totem for Ramos to fix him.
  17. I had to ask. Figured it was that way. FYI: Sim29 vs the Cherub equals a giant teddy bear. Not the neverborn version.
  18. I loaned my books to a friend, and can't check the avatar rules. But can you obey Sim29. I know avatars can't be copied a couple other rules around them. I Just can't understand why the flesh construct has Immune to influence, and Sim29 doesn't.
  19. This is the exact case for McM. a turn 4 or 5 manifest is to be expected. Ramos or Seamus on the other hand is meant to be done Turn 2 a crew built around them. McM just plays normally and late game you get a new friend to play with.
  20. your giving it up for the on your defense and the on your opponents , which makes it really worth it. Especially against another master.
  21. To me the avatar is an auto include. Turn one is harvestin, turn 2 I usually get 1 flesh construct, and then see if I can summon a second before manifesting. Unless I have really juicy target the rogue necromancy stays in the bag. But I find McM to be one of the finest masters to play. Maybe the crew doesn't have the strongest synergies, but as single model he's really fun.
  22. I like Mcmourning over Seamus. But if you really want something different from Guild, then Kirai is an option, the only downside is its not a small model count crew. Its one of crews that you need to buy the most models for due to the variety of summoning. Now I would consider the McMourning box and the Seamus box to start. I find Mcmourning works well with Bells as his main crew and summons the rest. Mortimer I find is essential for an early corpse token. Lastly a blister of Doxies to help round out the crew and you get the belle synergy. The last thing to get is either a second flesh construct and the avatar or the rogue necromancy. I found since I got the avatar I never use the rogue and prefer to try and summon 2 flesh constructs before manifesting. In the end you also have a decent Seamus crew. Oh yeah, don't forget the animal cruelty aspect that McM totem. A couple future expansions to the crew would be the following McTavish for Nurse reactivate shrug off combo and 3 corpse tokens if killed. Convicted gunslinger to kill what the belles lure Necropunks for getting reactivate from nurse for long range deliver a message Night terrors for objective grabbing.
  23. McMourning is not a constant summoner, but a Big Summoner. I find he's either summoning 2 Flesh constructs (& manifesting) or a Rogue Necromancy during the course of a game. And you can pretty much decide before the game starts what plan you will follow. If you are unsure of doing summoning, I would avoid Kirai, she is a constant summoner and adapts he summoning as she goes. Nicodem to a lesser extent.
  24. Take a look at this thread, people list their masters in order of preference. Might Give you an idea of what you would like. I was surprised Levi was a lot of peoples favorite. I seriously enjoy Ophelia, who should be different enough from Lilith to give you variation. If you still like a front line master look at McMourning, He has enough summoning to give you some fun choices. I find Seamus fun if you have a pairing in you advantage, against a construct crew he just feels in effective.
  25. I'm actually surprised that Convicted Gunslinger is not listed. He was so populate they made a LE transvestite version of him.
