  1. I have The Dreamer, Zoraida & von Schill so far, so it can't possibly be any of the three of them. (I'm working my way along to destroying the reputations of other Masters in my own good time!) :marshmell:marshmell:marshmell:marshmell:marshmell
  2. I have The Dreamer, Zoraida & von Schill so far, so it has to be all three of them. (I'm working my way along to destroying the reputations of other Masters in my own good time!) :marshmell:marshmell:marshmell:marshmell:marshmell
  3. "Ahhhhhh, another thread totally ruined by ...." (sorry - I couldn't stop myself channelling Natty) Rathnard, your work is sad and sick as per usual. And I absolutely love it! as per usual. You are inspired, & an inspiration. [Warning: creativity limit reached! Please revert to bland immediately!!!]
  4. Nah. It couldn't be that. I took it as proof that Teeth is just plain hard. :marshmell:marshmell:marshmell:marshmell:marshmell
  5. Funnily enough, the one time I got to watch a game of Levi (vs Gremlins) he got terminated in Turn 2. Finished, kaput & deader than a maggot in a Mortein factory. His crew lost.
  6. My first game with the Freikorps will be this Friday. I'm running the box as von Schill mastered, and using Hamelin the Ratcatcher to take them up to 35ss (actually 39, with the Henchman rule). I'll put my observations up here after the game. :thcow2::thcow2::thcow2::thcow2::thcow2:
  7. I think that you've hit the nail on the head (and you a non-Dreamer, as well!!!) in that timing is everything. Start springing the ambushes too early & you get squished in the inevitable riposte, or too late & you will have missed the bus. :driver: So far I've managed every option except the right one. :help: I watched Tiny use his Dreamer crew against a Seamus gang on Friday night (providing a barrage of inane commentary from the cheap seats, as one does), and I learnt an incredible amount from his coherent & focused strikes. He literally dismembered the Hatter's harem clinically & cleanly, and his use of companioned Daydreams to withdraw LCB after each sortie was a revelation. I'll be resuming my learning curve early in the New Year (when my lot are fully painted), but Friday was a huge step forward for me, even though I didn't play at all. :elefant::elefant::elefant::elefant::elefant:
  8. Your wondrous tokens enhance my games as it is, so this would be the cherry on top. Allow for the maximum of 3 such tokens, as I imagine Collodi players will be maxing out of Stitched Togethers, at least in the very short term. Many thanks, again, for your visions and generosity. :elefant::elefant::elefant::elefant::elefant:
  9. This is a liter...er...errrr... (oopsie boopsie - let's start again.) This is a literate and articulate piece that should be stickied somewhere bleeding obvious in order for it to be easily found by precisely the readership for which its author intended. Sometimes the most obvious elements are the easiest to miss (the ole "can't see the woods for the trees" caper), and I think this so perfectly clarifies the elements of motivation & thus would be an ideal first course in the banquet of food for thought that is this game. I almost inevitably fall in to the 1st ('fluffy bunny of doom') and 3rd ('live fast, die young & have a good looking corpse') categories, but also regularly slide into the 4th category ('follow the beat of your own drum') as well. My present focus on The Dreamer certainly bears no correlation to Category 2, and if anything appears even more intense as my run of insipid performances continues to multiply. (Is that Category 2a - "thank you sir, may I have another?"?) :elefant::elefant::elefant::elefant::elefant:
  10. You've lifted the bar on even your usual lofty standards with that Juju. The actual doll itself is wondrous. Simply superlative. :elefant::elefant::elefant::elefant::elefant:
  11. I'm impressed with your choice of colours as well. This promises to be an outstanding looking crew. (I'm finishing my own as we speak & they are very much in various shades of browns & yellows, so the contrast is quite stark.)
  12. I'm almost done painting up the von Schill box, & I can vouch that they are truly wonderful miniatures to work with. Keep your paints thin (I'm using almost entirely inks) & the sculptors will have done the bulk of the work for you! (Apologies for the mundane font. :bounce:) :elefant::elefant::elefant::elefant::elefant:
  13. Hush your crying Don't leave home It's only Natty Moaning in monochrome. (And that's the kiss off more on this later.)
  14. Apparently not. :hahaha: :elefant::elefant::elefant::elefant::elefant:
  15. The core element, and indeed, the very appeal of the Neverborn is being party to the unleashed beast of the imagination. This unfettered & unlimited creativity taunts traditional notions of reality before soaring once more in to the stratospheres of art, language, humour and the Vision Splendid. It is a matter of going boldly where no other Malifaux faction has gone before. Nor where they can possibly ever go. It has been encapsulated so adroitly on so many posts of this thread, and of so many other threads in this part of the site. And it is significant that so many who have posted on this thread are writers for whom I eagerly peruse these pages with the desperation of an addict in withdrawal, in order to find my next dosage of inspiration. :elefant: :elefant::elefant::elefant::elefant:
  16. This project is up to your usual standards of jaw droppingly brilliant, Ratty, but those bases are something else again. And we can never have too much Hag Lurrrve on this site! BTW: as good as those Rackham minis so obviously are, there really is no substitute for quality, and the Wyrd version is still the best (imo).
  17. Sensational vision as well, but please don't discount subtle if it doesn't show on a pic. BTW - for anyone going to Cancon in January - I have a pretty fair sized boxload of those sort of trees that I saved when we dismembered a past Xmas tree. If anyone wants some, they're give aways, so just let me know before I travel there.
  18. The overdue & appropriate apology has been edited in to the first post of this thread. Now all I have to work out is whether it's more applicable to my storming off or the coming back. :abduct: :elefant::elefant::elefant::elefant::elefant:
  19. Something to ponder: that the proposal that names should be true reflections of the pewter pieces they represent. For example: This is LORD Chompy Bits - This, on the other hand, is littel Chompy Bits - (Apologies for the dirge like tone of recent posts. There's a new kind of illegal drug released on the streets where I work which triggers massive schizophrenic/ paranoid reactions, and as that work is in the social welfare area we've been wearing far too many dangerous folks coming in with their heads in an alternative reality over this past week. And not a nice one at that. So sorry for any venting, & I wish to express my sincere regret for any offence given.)
  20. Fair call. Thread's dead. I won't attempt to add colour in the Land of the Bland any more. (Hope your optical surgery is a success.)
  21. This is so dark, dense & delicious. And incredibly humorous. It is a vision splended of the wonders of the Neverborn. All kudos, my brother. :elefant::elefant::elefant::elefant::elefant:
  22. Maybe pipples aren't reading this endless scribing as my poor play is not drawing any commentary - possibly some think me beyond redemption - but I worked out where simply knowing my own rules better may have had a profound impact upon that last game. It's all the world of hypothethetifaux, but as soon as Lilith activated after my dropping the Alps in a circle around her, Smother would have forced her to do a Wp -> 12 Duel with 5 negative flips (so it couldn't be cheated), the loss of which would have given her Slow. Feed on Dreams would have immediately caused her 5 Wounds for getting Slow in range of each of the circle of Alps. Then Exhaustion would have given her 5 more as soon as she attempted a Wk or Strike action. Which would have, 99.9% of the time at least, equalled one dead Mother of Monsters, literally as soon as she even twitched. Live & learn (I only thought of this last night while reading The Book). I also ran Poison 2 wrong, allowing poisoned opposition to get away with 1 less wound than the rules actually specify. To accelerate my learning process, I've decided to both limit my range of minis in each game until I can gain a healthy familiarity with them, and only after that will I begin to expand my range of options for Dreamer crews. Starting with what promises to be a delightful game - if it does happen - with Elcia's Nicodem crew (hopefully) this Friday, I will be running: The Dreamer (now painted) LCB (half done - and looking likely to be finished) Coppelius (painted) 2 Daydreams (still on order, & yet to be shipped, sigh) 7 Alps (as per Daydreams) (6ss cache).
  23. Thank you for responding, gents. Can we be assured that The Dreamer (both of them, separate + seated) & the appropriate cards will also be sent (if a bid is accepted)?
