  1. it's a neat Idea but (and I didin't really elaborate the point before) but laminating a stat card (Or any game element) is rather.. Permenant meaning, in the ttg world, you intend to keep your stuff which in my experience is unrealistic and as I mentioned, I'm sure the BF people KNOW players drop games and armies and trade for others ALL THE TIME thus the complex flexabilities of their battle bags- (look at bartertown.com for further proof of armies being traded en mass) as an aside even if players do laminate their cards- of the 2 'intended' pouchs, one is far too shallow to hold a bags worth of minis, the other is too long and the cards drop just beyond reach
  2. Oh, I get the "Intention" of the pouches... they are still laid out badly but as a long time gamer I know warbands are sold and traded like baseball cards suggestiong that BF thought about laminationg cards and NOT about the choice of using the smaller tray is silly
  3. I think the cult following of 'Little big planet' video game has mor to do with the vodoo dolls (or rather sock puppert) craze lately than anything the malifaux connection seems to be more Coincidence
  4. I like the bag I'm glad I bought it As nilus stated there are some complaints about one of the trays being on the small side; considering our smallest fig is a ht1 and still on a 30mm base I can see that being poor planning on BF part there is some gripes about eh texture of the foam being on the course side as well... I've not had an issue- solid work on sealing the mini should prevent issues My only Real concern... is the "Supplies side" it is poorly laid out period; there is a bunch of wasted space while what seems intuitive to me may not be for eveyone several of the pockets are odly sized for ...?? I dunno what what should be space for cards is either too long or the other is not deep enough I can still get all my minis (Outcast criminals & Marcus beast crew) in the bag, 2 books, 2 dry erase, 2 decks, 2 tape measures, a packet of eratta and my cards
  5. your December Cultist looks AMAZING! the shadowing and highlights turned out 'right'! the base on 'Tina is also astonding
  6. well if you don't like it, you don't like it... My friends prefer Velajo over Reaper but also admit you use what you need when you need it myself I have GW foundations, Testors Poly paints and Military colors and a few random other bottles of colors i couldn't figure out how to mix on my own
  7. Re:Glue I prefer and have great results with off brand or 'Superglu' brand GEL fills in gaps small gaps nicely and helps creat a nice overall bond with someof the other brands like GW's or ZAP-a-Gap (I refuse to use them) I find it helps (if you must use their stuff) to use BAKING SODA not a lot mind you, just lightly dust the exposed wet ares as you are asembling the pieces the Baking soda helps speed up the reaction and bonding process
  8. QUESTION: are the GW paints labled as "FOUNDATIONS"? if so it could be user error I'm not saying one brand is better than another(Everyone has their own opinion)... just that How you use certain paints can effect the results Foundations are just that; a foundation color they are meant to be mixed with water or acrylic medium and blended with other colors to achieve the desired results
  9. GS the Mandos is a good choice- I value my SWM too much to rebase or mess with them the first is Cpt Gordon(Von Schill) from Arkham Assylum 'Clix the second is Wildfire,(Librarian) Legoin of superheros 'clix the next is a Haqislam Flame thrower unit from Infinity Miniatures the second is a sniper from the same force the Infinity models are sculped from one of Malifaux's lead sculptors... I just found a newer version of the sniper who is posed in a more Snipery position I haven't setteled on a trooper yet since thery are just proxies I do't want to get in too deep
  10. Indeed there is certaily a distinct division of our players who had sworn off TTG's (Damn dice!) only to return because of the "New Mechanic" of using a deck of cards
  11. whil we're nit-picking mechanics histories... DDM (WoTC) had RPG character sheets reduced to basic stat cards to accompany their miniatures for their "Skirmish" game LONG befor PP was in print
  12. I Got my squad proxied out already!
  13. there is a situation of production issues in Table top games of the last 10 years... it's called "Scale Creep" Like Beta vs VHS or IBM vs Mac... just becaus they sell more doesn't make it better... it just measn they get to set the standard Dark Age makes figs on a "True" 32mm scale and next to a 'typical' 28-32mm Heroic scale fig, the diffrence is ASTOUNDING! the figs lising under 25mm are the same way (Freakishly smaller!) if you are looking for proxies the current line of Heroclix is right on par and uber cheap to get in addition look at what WYRDS sculptorsare doing many of WYRDS sculptors can be found doing some of the current line of INFINITY figs as well and you may find some useful figs and know that the scale is the same there as well
  14. I saw it this morning... the quality of work was impressive however It's not a WYRD fig and has nothing to do with malifaux... I think more than anything, 4 detailed photos of the fig was a bit much to get the idea it was naked- moreover a direct full on shot of it's junk was completly unnecessary
  15. hey that's half the reason I got married... 'cause I got to pick out the cake!
  16. YES but a LOT will depend on how you play... Getting into a game is FIRST a social contract, if you're B.S.'ing and chatting and having fun- so what if you're in a tournament- stick to playing shoot thebreeze between the matches if you're a stickler for EVERY single rule and nuance of interpretation... or the oppsite, still learning... things can run looooong too having played some other TTG's and even some Compedative CMG's (Star Wars & Heroclix) IMO a game of 25-35 ss should take about an hour- hour &half tops
  17. I got some wood floor Laminate samples and have done a little mix and match with some nice results they are easy to cut with good scisors and easy to drill for pinning a fig to the base prior to that... Dragon Forge and Micro Art Studio make stellar products
  18. nice, simple, usable and looks easy enough to keep in good repair
  19. until you drop it off the table or it gets wet....
  20. indeed, and for that matter what did youuse as the base fig?
  21. it's a good looking fig- if you like it, get it it may end up being a collectable in the Malifaux universe
  22. I think this was already covered no- (at least the 2 figs on our store shelves don't) the AVATAR forms are currently on 'hold' and are being treated like the 'crawlers' figs as one-off figs produced with no real purpose at this moment
  23. any one know if a v.2 card is available yet for him?
  24. you're missing the "Big Picture" that's 9 birds right there...
