  1. Has anyone Tried using this stuff ? They have it at my local store and apparently you just dip the minis in and take em out shake off the excess and it shades them up, but Im not too convinced on the effectiveness of it. If anyone has used it, what are your thoughts ?
  2. Hey Goblyn Ive been looking at your rules write up and it looks really good and simple to use for a Malifaux league, it left me with one question though. In #4 - Game Setup, you say strategies are determined by territory fought over? Like if someone attacks my territory they have to do a Claim Jump, while I have to Slaughter them or if we are both fighting for a neutral piece we both have to do a Reconnoiter ?
  3. Hey Pete I was wondering what rules you use for your league? is it some kind of Escalation league, or Expansion campaign?
  4. The first thing you need to get is a spray can of primer, you can pick up one at your local game store (Citadel Brand or Army Painter ) or if you feel like going for cheaper you can get primer spray at home depot/lowes. ( Ive used Rust-o-leum flat black primer for Cars and it works fine.) I suggest black primer, because when your painting if you miss a spot its harder to see as opposed to white or color primer. The downside to a dark primer is that whatever paints you put on top will come out darker than if you painted on white or color primer, so you might need more layers to achieve a lighter coat of paint on the models. Your next step is to pick up some paints, I have been a GW purist until now so the paints I use are Citadel Paints, I have seen other folks use Vallejo paints and they look great as well, I just have not tried them yet. Most gamestores will have the basic paint set, which comes with a couple of brushes and 6 - 7 paints, mostly primary and secondary colors, black and white. I recommend picking one of these sets up just to get you started, also you might want to pick up any other colors you might need, a metallic color for guns and maybe a brown if its not in the set. This is the only thing I never skimp on, if you want your models to look good you need paint made for models. As far as brushes, if they don't have em at your local game store, or you dont feel like spending the money for one of those, you can try Michaels/Pearl/AC Moore or any other craft store in your area, you can get brushes fairly cheap there The last thing you'll need is some kind of sealer to make sure the paint wont chip off your models when your playing and whatnot, there are two main kinds of sealer, there is a flat matte sealer or a glossy sealer. I prefer the matte sealer but it tends to dull out metallic paints, while the glossy sealer makes your whole model very shiny. I haven't used sealer on any of my figures yet, just in case i want to touch something up or repaint something but when your happy with how yours came out you can spray em down and your done. Citadel makes a sealer called Purity Seal, not sure how good it is but your local store should carry some kind of sealer, if not you can pick some up at Home Depot as well. So in essence what I recommend is Flat black Primer Beginner Paint set Couple of small brushes Matte Sealer.
  5. And here I thought i was being original but doing that to my model.
  6. Yeah I filed the extra stuff over her forehead and worked the putty around the little peg on her head and used the end of a file and an X-acto knife to make grooves into the putty to give her the hair effect, which you cant really see in the picture.
  7. Here is a shot of my Lilith Crew, I went for a little bit of a Lady Death feel for Lilith and I think it came out pretty good.
  8. Here is a pic of my recently acquired Pandora crew, I went with a red/orange/yellow scheme and decided to make Pandy a blonde since most every other paint jobs I saw gave her brown/black hair. I messed around with drybrushing on the Sorrows to give them a lighting effect kind of look.
  9. Ever since I saw the Perdita model I wondered what she looked like under that hat, so I decided that when I got my Perdita crew I would mod her so she was not wearing it. I have never used green putty before, so after much patience and deliberation here is my result. Apologies for the blurriness of some pictures. I placed the hat on the base just for effects, I also went with a Pink/White/Black color scheme for her because i felt it evoked a Rockstar kind of feel. and here is a shot with the rest of the family.
  10. Usually after store opens, around 1pm - 2pm
  11. We have a solid group of 8 (and growing) malifaux players in Northern NJ, we play Tuesdyas, Saturdays and Sundays at a store called Reality's Edge located in North Arlington, NJ. And we are looking for more players to start up a league within the next month or so. Reality's Edge Games & Hobbies291 Ridge Road, North Arlington, NJ 07031 (201)246-1444
  12. Teddy is meant to work with Kade which comes in the Pandora boxed set so that seems like a good choice.
  13. What do you guys find to be the best glue for these models? I have some GW Super glue / Zap-a-gap wannabe stuff but its just not good on metal pieces, took me forever to put together my Lilith starter
  14. Awesome stuff, what did you use for the roofs of the saloon, store and barn ?
