  1. Well I hear the sound of crickets. I guess that means it's a solid list! *bows to his audience of crickets who stand up on hind legs and applaud* LOL! - Sword
  2. Allow pop ups on this site and you will get a second window open showing you the picture properly on photobucket site. Great work. Those last ones have a very bold painting style. I bet they look fantastic on the table as it would catch the eye easily from distance. Great free hand. You make me weep... I think I need to practice, practice, practice! Cheers, Sword
  3. Bloody fantastic! Seeing other people's work really inspires me to get painting. I just have to finish a computer game mod I've been working on for 2.5 years, then I can launch into Malifaux. cheers, Sword
  4. I support the idea. Why not? In regard to it not flying in tournaments, the day Malifaux turns "hardcore corporate" like GW is the day I'll sell it and get out. I want an interesting small scale miniatures skirmish game where I can sometimes use models from other ranges. It gives me scope to let my creativity fly! I have to say that I love the Wyrd models very much anyway and want to buy all of them too. They are simply gorgeous; very high standard and I don't believe there is such a huge range in this style on the market anyway. I've been doing some internet searching to see what is available in steampunk gothic. Wyrd models are excellent standard in comparison. Hope you're reading this too, Nathan! As long as proxying is clear when you play, I don't see any issue with it. In fact, lots of models haven't even been released by Wyrd so we have to proxy on some level. Cheers, Sword
  5. Wow, they're great! I like the strong black lining. Cheers, Sword
  6. Love it! The faces are done well, the eyes stand out to me somehow. Wyrd make some great miniatures. Cheers, Sword
  7. What a great idea for Teddy? "HUG ME"? LOL You must post pictures when you're done. And I really like your signature. Why settle for the lesser of two evils? Excellent. Cheers, Sword
  8. Hi mate, Maybe we can get in a game sometime? I live in Mt Druitt, not far from you. There is another stockist in Sydney too. Website is here: Mainly.medieval.com. I bought my stuff from this mob as they went down to CanCon. Cheers, Pete
  9. Wonderful! They're all really top notch. Cheers, Sword
  10. Really good! Very inspiring for me to get painting. Cheers, Sword
  11. It shows me again that a decent base looks so good. I plan on buying scenic bases for all my Malifaux minis now. Good job with the paint job! Cheers, Sword
  12. Didn't spot this till too late and have something else on tomorrow. Will there be more? Cheers, Sword
  13. Hi all, I'm just getting into the game and here is my first army list. I haven't played yet and I plan on going to see some demo games in the coming month or so, giving me time to get some figures painted. I love the Malifaux minis. Very high quality in my opinon. List Lady Justice Nino Ortega (7 SS) Peacekeeper (9 SS) Witchling Stalker (4 SS) Scales of Justice familiar (2 SS) (Soulstone cache at start is 7 stones.) I'm only a noob, but here's how I see it. - I can use a wide selection of suits, without too much demand on any one. Rams and Masks are useful to the Lady. Crows and Masks are useful to Nino. Tomes and Crows are useful to the Witchling. - I can power the Peacekeeper with crap cards. - Combined with Scales of Justice 'Balance' ability, I should have a good control hand able to power everything. - Reading battle reports on the forum shows me some models have some really scary powers and spells, including Pandora's plethora of WP tests. The Peacekeeper is a strong combat model that is impervious to all that (as I read it, hope that's right). - The Peacekeeper has some nice abilities that I think will be verrrry useful, like the harpoon and chain attack. - There is a mix of capability in the force. I like to think there is some kind of justice ready to be dealt out to any kind of enemy force. - Nino's shooting power is just awesome. A great ranged cover for Lady J to close. I think the enemy better be careful on who Nino gets a bead on. - The Lady's close combat power is also awesome. With a good choice of triggers and actions, I reckon she should be able to cleave just about anything if I can keep her alive to get there. - I've just realised that the Lady often won't have models nearby to shield with her Blind Justice spell. But I plan to try running the Scales nearby and they both activate and put up Blind Justice to shield each other. I know the enemy will kill the scales, but eh. So what? - I can also see from battle reports she can get taken down before achieving anything. So I think I should be careful how I close with her. - The Witchling is cheap and cheerful but with some nice mobility and defenses against those funky powers I'm cautious of. I see him scuttling through terrain and doing some damage before dying. - I have good amount of soulstones, which means I'll be using those liberally when needed. Especially in getting Lady J into position then boosting her initial attacks against main enemy models. - The force seems low on model count. But hey, you can't have everything. I think I have to watch that I don't get too distracted from mission objectives by side fights with minions, as I only have few models to get things done. Anyone have any thoughts or comments? I'm hoping this is a solid all rounder force, focussing on straight forward combat power. I find that there are more than enough options in the triggers and spells and combinations for these models to keep me occupied while learning the game. Cheers, Sword
  14. I reckon it's really strange that the spell doesn't actually shield the Lady herself. Strange Malifaux rule, that one! However, I have a cunning plan. She will "raise shields" and so will the Scales of Justice totem 6" away. My whole Guild force will remain safe in the arms of Justice! Let justice be done upon the evil Pandora and other evil spell casters!! bwahahahaha Cheers, Sword
  15. I like your writing style for the intro. Good stuff! Cheers, Sword
  16. Excellent. Sounds like a lot of fun. Cheers, Sword
  17. I haven't played yet but.... I thought the same things when I read them. Not strong enough. Perhaps they work better in a mixed force with some hard character to take out big monsters and masters? Cheers, Sword
  18. Wonderful! I love battle scenes like this. Cheers, Sword
  19. The ink in the recesses is hard but it doesn't really detract from the overall effect to my eyes. Nice mini! Cheers, Sword
  20. Hello acid_gaming and everyone else! I'm from Sydney too and I just bought the Malifaux rulebook and my first mini for the game. I went down to Canberra on Saturday to have a walk around CanCon and was accosted by acolytes of Malifaux, namely Paul and his crew from Mainly Medieval store. They mesmerised me with their tales of this wonderful skirmish game and needless to say, I became ensorcelled. I am now well and truly under this spell. I serve the Guild, for Justice is truly even handed and blind. I must get painting and I'd love to see some games in action at Sydney clubs. If anyone knows of any upcoming demos, please let me know. Cheers, Sword
