  1. I use a white primercoat, then cover the entire model with a thin black wash... it makes the tiny details stand out for painting and removes some of the challenges that white presents.
  2. Thanks to everyone that came out, whether painting or playing, BIG thanks to Rob for coming up
  3. and then there are those of us who use the Android operating system.....
  4. There was one in LA, but the last one held was 3 years ago

  7. lamination also allows you to mark wounds with a dry erase marker
  8. it has nothing to do with money mal⋅e⋅fac⋅tor   /ˈmæləˌfæktər/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [mal-uh-fak-ter] Show IPA Use malefactor in a Sentence –noun 1. a person who violates the law; criminal. 2. a person who does harm or evil, esp. toward another. Origin: 1400–50; late ME malefactour < L malefactor, equiv. to malefac(ere) to act wickedly, do an evil deed (see male-, fact ) + -tor -tor Synonyms: 1. felon, culprit. and since none of the factions is the "good guy" I think it appropriate
  9. Is there a general term for Malifaux players? I have seen Mali-fools referred to, but I think I would prefer to be a Mali-factor
  10. I have to agree with the sentiments a few pages back. When I have a handful of models, all of them named, I care more about them, I play them better, and spend more time painting them. The 53rd Ork or Orc, or Space Marine gets old for me. Like many, my first exposure was GW.... and I drank the Kool-aid, dutifully painted block after block of figures, and wasnt somehow satisfied. Then WarMachine came, and I fell in love, but the bloom fell off the rose as units became more important and the 9th Trencher just didnt matter to me anymore. Now I have Malifaux, and I couldnt be happier, I play more, I paint with more enthusiasm, and when I need a change of pace I can start a new faction for a VERY reasonable price.
  11. given that the official Victorian bases are cobblestone and have leaves on them, I'd say you're safe in doing the same.
  12. Im planning on getting one of these: http://battlefoam.com/catalog.php?item=153&catid=63&ret=catalog.php%3Fcategory%3D63
  13. I'm a loooooong time WM player, was a pressganger (their demo/TO team) and I always felt that page 5 was not so much of a mission statement as a means of getting things hyped up, a rally cry if you will. Did some folks take that to an extreme? Yes, but those people tend to act the same way no matter what they play. In this case they were able to warp page 5 into a defense to hide behind. Never has it been so true to say: Hate the player, not the game. Ok now having said that, I have not picked up a WM mini in many months, dont even know if I will pick up the MarkII rulebook anytime soon. not because I dislike the game, just I'm way too busy playing Malifaux.
  14. very useful, I will be printing this out and having it laminated... your work is appreciated
  15. Friday 1/15 Mr_Smigs and I will be on hand to do demos and get in some open gaming, we will be there from about 6pm on... come on down and join in, we have a pretty good sized group of people busily painting and playing!
