  1. There have been some fancreated characters with rules for game use. No one at Wyrd has said those aren't allowed. Just expect critique that might be more or less harsh depending on your character. If your character has the best abilities of every model out there you can expect a lot of complaining from certain people (me included ).
  2. For some reason I don't consider Gremlins to be that weak. Just take the enemies cards away and feed them to the pigs. Your bound to do something at some point. Usually you can also force your opponent to activate most of their crew before you call your pigs in with a Sooey. Most of the time your crew can outnumber the enemy around 2:1 or even more. And a Gremlins Luck from a Mosquito usually makes your enemy cry. If someone gets painfully close to Som'er, take their cards and use Boomer with Dumb Luck for some nice damage. Or swarm them with the small fry. Of course I have to admit that they aren't the perfect do it all crew that always devastates your enemy but who is? Assasinate might be a hard strategy with Gremlins but so it is against the Gremlins too, Slaughter is completely impossible against Gremlins. There's pretty much no one who can stop Gremlin's from getting full points from Reconnoiter, Treasure Hunt shouldn't be that hard either. Claim Jump depends a lot on your enemy. Even Lilith doesn't want to stand around all those Gremlins and their little blast markers while the pigs try to nibble at her toes.
  3. Even better, add Punk Zombies for more paired Cb7 goodness.
  4. Yep, it's a nice tattoo. And people who don't know about Malifaux might just think that you like writing with quills
  5. You can always scratch the surface of the balsa with a needle. Make long light scratches along the real wood grain. Don't hold the needle too tight so it can do small curves and create a realistic texture. That gives it a texture that you won't lose while painting. Dilute the paints a little so the balsa sucks them in a bit. Then drybrush to really bring out the texture. Colours, that's always difficult and depends on your general painting style... For a sunbleached look I'd start with a middle brown with some grey mixed in. Then I'd probably mix in a little white or grey and start dry brushing, adding more white after every layer to get that greyish look. Or at least here the wood turns light grey after years of rain, sun and snow. If you want a painted look, drybrush a little of the color you cant after the first painted brownish grey layer and then start drybrushing the greys on.
  6. RAAAAAAWRRRR!!! Lilith and her friendly group of gentlemanly friends done: I never want to paint cobblestones again. But I'm quite sure I'll still have to do it. Damn. I'm somewhat happy how they came out though the Terror Taters didn't work as well as I would have liked. I wasn't patient enough while painting or something. They also should have been more to the purple direction and less magenta. The Cherub is about the colour I was going for with the Tots too. The Big Guy is named Fabio for his curly blond hair. The bases are self-sculpted and I used a set of the Wyrd Viktorian Base accessories. Gotta love the cat. If I had realized it quick enough, I would have made the head look down a bit at the Tot. Now the cat just looks like the evil companion of Neverborn. I also wanted Lilith to stand below the lamp post but it was just too big to fit on the small base.
  7. If someone is going to add the actual stats for miniatures in any software, at least do the courtesy of asking Nathan for permission. I don't know if he has anything against this but generally it's not nice to give away the full statistics for all the miniatures in any game for free. Of course the cards come with miniatures but this would also make playing without the real miniatures/cards/rulebook that much easier. At least Privateer Press and Games Workshop aren't exactly loving the way Army Builder has been supplying their files.
  8. You can't Mature a Doppleganger as the spell is referencing a model by name. In addition, Mature Nephilims are Rare 2, so there can't be more than two of them on the table at the same timein one crew. Same applies to any rare and unique models.
  9. There's info on release schedules in this post by Nathan Also, there's an edit button above each of your posts Mr. Oneliner
  10. Student of Conflict might be good with his ability to give fast but he's 4SS. That might be a bit too much considering that you're already paying 10SS for Hamelin and 9SS for Teddy. Maybe in a bigger game it could work if you manage to surprise your enemy. Kade with Fast moving first, then casting Backstab and then striking with melee expert isn't too shabby either. Fast works with pretty much anything. Essence of power doesn't help as you said and Governor's Proxy gives his WP bonus to friendly Guild models. And I would not take him with Pandora anyway. With all those WP duels going on you are bound to lose a few. A single Hoarcat pride isn't worth it as there's not much that it could devour. The piglet would start rampaging without any friendly gremlins to keep him in line.
  11. It's been a while again. I haven't had that much time and inspiration to paint but at least I've got a few things done. It also seems that my painting skills are slowly improving, which is nice. Ice Golem is also reay and I'm currently painting the bases for the whole 'Tina crew. Lilith is also coming on nicely, I should get more grey stuff tomorrow so I can sculpt my very own almost official Viktorian bases. Here's Lilith and one of her little buddies: I'll have to make the eyes of the Young Nephilim a bit brighter.
  12. It's good to remember that Zoraida has to pay an extra soulstone for every out of faction model. 3SS a piece Gremlins aren't exactly a bargain. The Pigs will start stampeding as their first action if there are no Gremlins around, attacking the closest non-pig models in their LoS. This will hurt, your crew that is. So keep your overpriced Gremlins alive if you're going to try it. Som'er and Zoraida together should be quite a good team. There's some real nice card control potential there along with the obeys and buffed up pigs.
  13. Lilith also looks a bit more curvy than rest of the girls but she also has that coat hanging about. Zoraida also seems to have a lot of booty but... well... yes...
  14. Some people (Ropetus and another one) had been showing some interest to the game earlier. When I had some left over money I bought the rulebook and a couple of miniatures(/crewboxes) and started converting people to try it out. It seems we're slowly finding new players as starting the game is quite cheap, rules are nice and the models look great. If you've got a friend or two who like to play, just go somewhere where people tend to play different kinds of games, play a little bit, answer to people asking questions and if there's someone looking to start playing '40k jump at them with the speed of light before the GW enthusiasts can lay their slimy fingers at the newbie and drag him to your gaming table. With your fully painted crews and a lot of stuff happening on the table, some people become interested when compared to the hordes of gray plastic and bucketfulls of dice piled on the other tables.
  15. The paint job is really nice but you could have done something about Doras backward lean The back of the coat is awesome.
  16. I was considering using Necropunks as Abominations until the real models come out. I'll probably try them as their own cute selves too. With leap they might be able to pull off something nasty in certain environments and scenarios. And the models are really nice too.
  17. Ah, an excellent excuse to order something(s) from the webstore. At least if there are some new preview pictures...
  18. The Warpig originally got me into this game, Baby Kade is probably my favorite at the moment though. Rasputina has so far been my favorite mini to paint. And I'm quite much looking forward to the Hooded Rider, can't wait to see some pictures (and pre-order it from somewhere).
  19. My earlier opinions on the Warpigs might be a bit biased as all my games with Gremlins have been against the Ortegas who tend to be quite nasty on big models with low defence. It might be a completely different when your opponent can't make an Alpha Strike with every model he has and kill your big hitters before they get to do something. Still I think that having pigs equals taking skeeters too to guide them to position. Mosquitoes are probably the best Totems in the game. A lot of Gremlins can (probably) be good too if you're not going to be facing Resurrectionists (too much hard to wound and corpses) or something with a very high defence. Most people probably don't talk about taking too many Gremlins because painting so many Gremlins might bring up bad memories from painting up huge units for certain games... Take maybe seven or eight in a 25SS, throw in a whisperer to keep the cards coming when the Gremlins die further out in the field. Then summon one or two every round and use Flip for it (it sort of changes your combat to either 2 or 6), Dumb Luck, Ya'll watch this, and focused shots (the last two cannot be combined) to kill of your enemy if need be. You'll probably need four packs of gremlins to be sure to have enough. Of course the skeeters help with this kind of list too by stealing cards but if you don't like them, they might not be necessary. Just swarm any kind of opposition. If an enemy doesn't have a long melee range run within the 2" range but still further away than 1" and use Ya'll watch this, if you hit him, good, if you can trigger dumb luck, even better, if there are more enemies to hit with the blasts it's very nice. The Gremlin will explode after the shot and do two damage to everything within 2". Even Perdita can be killed with this because she only has the 2" melee range while doing melee attacks. Not much luck with Lilith though, she's faster than you and you'll have a hard time hitting her. And her little babies will grow up fast when there are so many squishy little Gremlins around. Luckily it's a scenario based game. In a mission like Reconnoiter or Treasure Hunt the fast trusty Gremlins will win you games, maybe in Claim Jump too, Slaughter might be a bit too hard but possible depending on the enemy, Assasinate depends on the opposing master. Schemes like Bodyguard, Thwart and anything related to running around a lot are good and will most likely earn you points.
  20. The amount of models depends of course on your preferred play style and game size. The choice of miniatures is also quite limited so usually the shopping list is something along the lines of starter crew, 2-4 mosquitoes, pack of piglets, whisperer, then maybe a second pack of piglets, a second warpig and maybe a pack of gremlins when the games get bigger. The Mosquitoes are amazing models for the price of 2SS. They let you keep your pigs safe, steal the cards from your enemy and fart them to death. They also have the potential to be amazingly sturdy with six wounds and Df7. Warpigs are a bit problematic. They do so much damage that they are first priority targets to pretty much any crew. They have a lot of wounds but they don't have armor or hard to wound and the low defence doesn't help that. Guild models chew through them rather quickly with all that Critical Strike they have. Having two most likely results in one getting killed, the other one eating stuff while in full health and then dying next round. I wouldn't use two in a game smaller than 35SS. Warpigs also have low combat so usually having many piglets is beneficial as they generate more strikes meaning more hits or used cards for the enemy. Piglets also have a good defence so they aren't that easy to take out. And there's plenty of them. And you can make more during the game. In 25SS list I would definitely use just one Warpig, maybe not even that depending on the enemy. You don't have to use the Whisperer either. He can heal the pigs and give them reactivate but he's also slow. Som'er likes soul stones to keep him alive in case your opponent gets close. Preferably a lot of them. Damage prevention is pretty much the best use for those. Mosquitoes are very good, start with at least two of them. Gremlins aren't that amazing and you'll survive with a maximum of two at the start of the game. There'll be plenty in a few rounds. I think I used this list last time: Som'er 2x Mosquito Warpig 2x Piglet 1x Gremlin 5x Soulstone A nice thing to do is use Git y'er bro, heal a gremlin and a mosquito. If the Mosquito is not in full health, attack a gremlin to get to six wounds, then fly forward. With the other Mosquito summon a third and with the third one, fly forward close to the first one. Run the pigs forward, keep a gremlin close so they don't go rampaging around too early. Find a good hidden position around middle field and wait for the enemy to draw near. When they are close, use your activations with gremlins and Som'er until most of your opponents models have activated. Then fly forward with the Mosquito in full health and empty the enemys hand with Gremlin's luck. Then use the other Mosquito to fly forward and cast Sooey to call the pigs forward. Then let the pigs go mental on your enemy who can do nothing but watch and cry as the pigs chew through his troops. Using the Mosquitoes to cast Pull my Finger is also effective as long as you have the cards to pull it off. That can easily finish a model that the pigs have chewed a bit first.
  21. I can't recall anything about proxying in the rulebook aside from the "What you need" section mentioning Malifaux Models. With your buddies you can proxy anything as long as they are okay with it. In a tournament, if you happen to enter one, you might have to have the original models for those that have been released. It depends on the organizer. Generally proxies are accepted as long as it is a proper representation of the original model. In that sense a Mindless Zombie might not be the best option for a Doppleganger or the Student of Conflict but there's not much point in buying a random model from another company to use as a proxy if you're going to buy the real models anyway when they are released.
  22. I usually cut the whole tab off. Or if I for some reason want the model glued with the tab I'll file it down or slice the base with a knife until it fits.
  23. True, had not noticed that even though I have the Pandora box I wonder if it's on purpose or a mistake...
  24. You might find something from WorldWorks Fantasy line. The downside is that they don't sell ready made terrain. You buy a PDF file from them and then print, cut and glue it on some proper paper stock or foam board. It let's you build a lot of different sceneries and doesn't take a lot of space. Some people have ordered the prints from print shops with their fancy printers. SuicideCommando or the WorldWorks forums can offer more help.
  25. At least Leap, Obey and Lure quickly came to mind and they have the same CC on models I checked. There might be some spells but at least I don't remember any. Anyone?
