  1. When I saw the title I was expecting to see a small shed containing a strappy table, a moonshine jug & a taxidermist with a hammer. This is soooooo much better Incredible work there buddy have you got a kit list or WIP shots at all?
  2. Instant Mold isnt' great for resin (it doesn't do exothermic that well, what with the whole "becomes soft with heat" gimmick). So you'd have to go straight for multi-part silicone molds. But yes, agreed with whoever mentioned above that it'd be perfect for LotOW. This is exactly what I'd had in mind for a Cowboy or Outlaw gang, and would make an awesome leader Now just to find Lee Van Cleef & Eli Wallach....
  3. Nobody else is asking, so I'm gonna: I don't suppose there's a chance you're looking to cast these up for sale? That's a gorgeous mini, I can imagine there'd be a market for it
  4. Love the model; will have to file off the nose One thing that I'm genuinely not a fan of though is something that extends across most of the Wyrd range: top-down photos. To me it distorts the mini too much, for example the Hooded Rider is a surprisngly lovely mini but the angle on the pic makes him look squat. Ditto with ARaspy and this guy. A bit late to change now, and I doubt any of the Wyrd crew will see this, but would it be possible to take pics from front-on more often in the future? Pretty please? The sculpts in hand have never let me down, but it's taken me more & more faith to get them in hand based on the pics lately.
  5. Nicodem wants a can of Febreeze. Mortimer wants a tinder-box or a match. Both the Vultures want helmets. The Belles want poles and see-through gear (this was vetoed quite quickly). Somer wants more 'Shine, and a piggie to ride on. Ophelia wants a bigger hat, and her Gramma to rock up to play...
  6. It's this attitude.... .... Combined with this costume... ... That locks it for me Levi could work, but I don't like the idea of artificially ageing him for the role. Peter Cushing would've been a lock, but he's shuffled off to wherever it is good actors go (appropriate for Levi, but no). Ian McKellen maybe?
  7. Depending on how many you want, another option here: http://eurekamin.com.au/product_info.php?cPath=87_126_178&products_id=2086
  8. See I would actually buy this... I mean why not, I have a good oven and a pair of pliers after all.
  9. Hey all, Saw this on TTGN today: http://www.tabletop-art.de/Blood-Taurus_3 Obviously it's a cash-in on the slacktacular GW giant cow effort, but the first thing that went through my head was... supermodel redheads admittedly, but the second thing was Alt LCB. Enjoy! Cheers! Borzag
  10. Lots of interesting replies on here, glad to see it's taken off as well as it has didn't know about this thread a few years ago though.... if anyone finds it we should probably add a link. I find it interesting that pretty much everyone agrees on Christopher Lee as Nicodem and that everyone disagrees on Perdita (what can I say, I still see her as the book 1 & 2 young & spunky Master, not the book 3 hot but grizzled vet Master). The rest... always fun to see who comes up with who, and I'm enjoying the wide variety of people eligible to play Marcus. Anyway, just had an idea for Old Man Levi... Peter Cushing. Not sure why, but that lean craggy face screams Levi to me. Yes, aware that he's no longer of this mortal coil, but we have CGI for that.
  11. This. I've moved a lot in recent years so I have a few rolls of packing tape; a small slice of that will cover the gaps easily. I have enough for roughly 10,000 bases at a total cost of $10 AUD.
  12. Huh... straight up did NOT picture Bob Hoskins in that role. In hindsight, nobody would do this better and the Christopher Lee/Bob Hoskins duo would rock the screen something fierce... I like it! That's pretty much as far as I agree with you though. To me, Lucy Liu's too old for Kirai, but would be a rockin' Misaki. And if anything I can't imagine Natalie Portman being old enough to play Colette (who I picture as a more mature woman; say early 30's. Think MILF here people; still young enough to rock your world and old enough to know it). She might work as Cassandra however. Patrick Stuart... funny thing. Turelio suggested to me that he'd actually make a good Ramos, with James McAvoy playing Hoffman. I like it; a younger & older side of the same steampunk coin, and nicely throwing back to X-Men.
  13. Holy crap I like that idea 13th. Very much a prog game, and works well with the "build-up" story in the rulebooks too. I'll have to run this past my gaming buddies; could work to get the game more play time and allow us to paint our forces (ie play with what you have painted, and build up with this in mind). Nice work
  14. I remember aaaaaaaaages ago before WM became a tourney only game, they had a "kind of" progression mechanic available. Basically, after X amount of games, X amount of objectives acheived, or X amount of territory captured, you were able to use the Elite master. Maybe that might be a way to go. Don't allow Avatars into play until you acheive a certain amount of success. Or don't allow the use of Mercs in a non-Merc list (no notoriety, no contacts etc) or no Henchmen (who wouldn't work for someone fancier than them).... something like that. Don't get me wrong, I like prog campaigns. I just don't see the need for that mechanic in THIS game. Borzag
  15. Oooh, that's a gooood choice for Kirai. I'd originally pictured Ziyi Zhang due to Memoirs of a Geisha, but your choice works for me. Also, came up with a Colette option: Carla Gugino. Mostly due to Sucker Punch. On that subject, does anyone have any suggestions for Cassandra? From pure swordwork I want to say Emily Browning (same movie) but I can see an argument for most contemporary ice skaters or gymnasts.
  16. Hey all, This is inspired by an oooooooooold thread over on the PP forums, where people discussed who should play who in a Warmachine movie (off the record: time has vindicated my suggestion of Christian Bale playing Prince Vladimir Tsepeci. Having said that, there's probably a lot of people on the Bat-Vlad wagon now, so may not be a great thing). So, I would love to see what people think here let's expand on it a bit: who you would like to see playing who, and if possible, which story line you'd like to see focused on. Here's my suggestions: STORYLINE: I like the Malifaux story, but it would either have to be done as a TV serial or HEAVILY cropped for film. As such, I'm gonna say let's just focus on a few Master origins for the Guild, with some hints at the bigger line. The Wyrd Chronicles stuff is probably best. CAST: Perdita: Penelope Cruz. No question. Francisco: Danny Trejo. No question. Lady Justice: Christina Hendricks. Again no question, although it'd be a shame to cover those beautiful eyes. Alternatively, Scarlett Johanssen from Iron Man. Lucius Matheson: Hugh Laurie. I'm having extreme Blackadder flashbacks here. Combine that with a dash of House... DAMN. Som'er Teeth Jones: Danni DeVito. See Batman Returns. Alternatively, Ron Jeremy (just.... stay with me people). Mortimer: As per Som'er. Nicodem: Christopher Lee. Beard optional, but would be awesome. Out of character, but BADASS. Seamus: Hard to say for me. Originally I would have gone with Sir Anthony Hopkins, as I read the V1 rulebook with Hannibal Lecter's voice playing Seamus, but from Rising Powers onwards I heard Brad Pitt's Mickey the Pikey (no thanks to my regular gaming buddy Turelio). So really it's up for grabs. The costume is either green or periwinkle blue. McMourning: Jackie Earl Haley. See Twisting Fates as to why. Rasputina: Izabella Scorupco (Natalya from GoldenEye). I can see her having fun with this, plus that Russian accent is hot. Marcus: Pre-Twisting Fates, Danny Glover. Not sure who would play younger, buffer Marcus. Maybe Old Spice Guy ("Hello beasts, I am the man you wish your master would smell like.") Miranda: Paris Hilton YES REALLY. Not sure why, but I can see her rocking this role. I blame Repo. Anyway that's me out of ideas... anyone else have any suggestions? Cheers! Borzag
  17. Oh you're in for a treat here Here, not so much yeah yeah personal opinion and whatnot, but I prefer the "original" Colette.
  18. 3-way tie between Somer, Ophelia & Nicodem. The first two is easy... Hello, my name is Borzag and i'm a Goblinholic I love the little evil green buggers. Back in the day I had a full army of Warhams wolf riders, and a converted undead greenskin army. Now it's just a Goblin BB team, a Necromantic BB team converted from Goblins, a Rebel Grot Gorka gang, some random Goblin minis for use here & there, and my main in WoW is a Goblin Hunter. It's a thing with me. Anyway, I saw the Bayou Gremlins a few years ago and fell off my chair laughing I absolutely loved the whole redneck aesthetic, which fitted Wyrd's little green buggers to a tee. So when Mali came out I grabbed those off the bat. Ditto with Ophelia. Nicodem on the other hand... to me, his box set is everything that IS Malifaux. Magic, tech, victorian horror with a dash of the exotic... colour me interested. Combined with the fact that he's easier to get working than Somer had me sold. Plus Mortimer is hilarious. Cheers! 19. Eh, as with all things, YMMV. Personally, those bases turned me OFF buying LCB the first time around. It took until I saw one in the flesh for me to want to get one. Still not sure how I want to base it, but will think on it. Definitely not that silly perch thng he's got going on the box; it completely threw the scale off for me (looked like they were trying to artificially increase the size). Maybe have it with some dead minis around it, to emphasize the sheer BULK of the thing. Wil see.
  20. Have played around with that hat set a fair bit.... I'd suggest shaving down Hoff's head instead of the inside of the hat. At the very least, agreed that the goggles would have to go. Bear in mind that the hats (all of 'em) are solid pewter with a shallow recess at the bottom to allow for the head. And since Hoff's got a conehead thing going, it makes it tricky to fit without modifying. However, I agree that it will look the business when you're done. Just need some diamond files and patience
  21. Super Sayan Masters Basically they're an "in-game" upgrade to your Master. When you hire the Crew, you can spend 2SS to give them the Avatar option (IMPORTANT: you have to specifically spend the 2SS. You can't just leave 2SS in your pool and declare this later). The Avatar's stat card has Manifest Conditions printed on it. This is what you have to acheive to gfet them to appear (so for example, on Som'er it's perform 3 Healing Flips and/or directly kill a few things with Pull My Finger). Once you've acheived this, you can spend some actions to summon your boosted Master. A few other things will happen, but it varies from model to model. Hope that helps. Cheers! Borzag
  22. I'll have to grab some photos when I get home tonight... What I did with mine was simple: slapped the Hats & Guns set on 'em. Cowboy Mindless got the top hat, turning him into a creepy undead Willy Wonka. Overalls Mindless got the bowler, because you kinda have to. And Lady Mindless got the works: a headswap with a Mantic Zombie, some greenstuff hair (actually this went on all of them, but she got long hair) and the sunhat/bonnet thing, turning her into what I like to call Undead Kate Winslet (she looks like Kate from Titanic). It's a simple job, but it's enough for me to tell them apart. Bases also help. Cheers! Borzag
  23. That's an easy one.... the classic quote: "God gave man both a brain & a penis, but only enough blood to operate one at a time." Hoff's a cripple, but still a man damnit!
  24. http://www.reapermini.com/FigureFinder#detail/50063 Jeeves, Clockwork Robot. Grr... can't get image to work EDIT: Alternatively, if you want to go for the sleeker casing look: http://www.reapermini.com/FigureFinder#detail/50138 ALF24, Robot Assistant.
