  1. She should have a magical weapon. Her swords damage is already on the low side, given how powerful a lot of Book 2 minions are. Trying to kill one of Kirais spirits (2-2-3 dam against 8 wounds anyone?) is so futile without any damage spells.
  2. The problem is, he still needs to discards cards over 6 at the end of the turn. So a big hand is a good 6 hand in the next turn, but only 6. In my games i get problems around turn 4, when my hand runs out and my opponents cheat carefully. If i can obey a model by the pipes, i prefer this instead of casting Obedience, which costs my a model and can be resisted. Maybe iam to mean. Technically i could play with the ratloop to outactivate, because its how they work (yet). But i dont because i try to play fair, yes even with Hamelin.
  3. Hm, 1 Ap would be ok, but i have to spend 2, one for summoning and one for abandoned soul to get the cards. Ok, and a free rat. But this seems be a a personal playstyle thing, i hate sacrificing even a rat (stolen are ok) for Hamelins spells. My opponents know what to do, and my crew becomes smaller every turn even if i dont reduce it by myself. Whenever i took something not cheap and recyclable (Candy for example), my opponent went very happy to have a first target. I prefer canines and night terrors, both are able to give - to Wp duels, are fast, cheap and have less problems with terrifying.
  4. And per model. Where do you get the models to sacrifice from? If you call a stolen and sacrifice him and the rat, you lost your masters full activation and 5 ss (or 3 if you call the rat free extra) of models to get 4 cards.
  5. First game with Hamelin. Ryle: Look, a big target which does not come back! Blamblamblam. Doggie gone. There are a lot of shooters which do 3+ dam per hit, so Nix is dead in 3 hits. If you cant activate him between for healing or hiding, hes toast. How many control cards does the average opponent (without extra card drawing abilities) have in the hand? 6 isnt it? So how often does the average opponent plays a control card if you consider some of the cards are not worth cheating? So, where is the monster card generating?
  6. Thats what a swarm actually works. Someone kills the Ratcatcher. The respawning rat activates and forms a new one Catcher at the cost of 2 rats. The swarm sinks in numbers but keeps alive. And moves on. With the suggestion the swarm dies immidiately when the catcher falls. The opponent gets a lot fun blasting the rats with AoE or normal attacks and they are all gone. Only way to prevent it is to keep Hamelin nearby. Forcing a big cluster because a swarm more than 6 inch from Hamelin begs to be killed.
  7. Yes thats all he need to do. But this its what he will not get often. Theres no safe way to get a straight flip against Lilith a second time. Hamelins second attack (after Fate is meaningless) is a -flip in general. If he pulls out a double severe or moderate, sure then your are screwed. But not different from any other melee Master. And Hamelin is Cb 6 and always low in ss, Lilith is Def 8. Dont get hit. Thatswhy he wont bother trying to hit Lilith with the stick under most circumstances. She has Wp 6, he will attack here, by the flute and haunting melody trigger or his spells. Teddy is ItI, you cant transposition him. I consider Teddy a bad choice vs Hamelin, because 9 wounds is the power of Hamelins stick, and HtW can be ignored. Hamelin is great in oneshotting teddies, if he has two good cards. A model wounded by the stick gets a blight token. When a model with blight token suffers wounds blabla... Its pretty obvious you suffer the damage first and get the token after. The model didnt had the token when it suffered the wounds, so no extra wounds. Yet.
  8. Maybe a timing question, but you get the blight token AFTER you suffer the 9 wounds, so you dont suffer 10 this turn. God i love omg-Hamelin-Threads, they are always full of misunderstood infos. Hamelin got soulstones? Cache of zero anyone? Means hes always less in ss or in crew when you start a game. Hamelin comes back? He comes back crippled with Ca 3, you have a hard time using his spell list from now. So if you can kill him, do it and hes much less to worry about. And if you kil the stolen before... Rats have a swarm rule against easy outactivating. And when my buddy would use the dumb eternal rats-bite-eachother-circle against me, he can look for a new one to play with. And yes, models with black blood are a very very bad choice against rats. The rest depends on strategies and the crew selection Hamelin does.

  10. Thats what i expected by common sense, but i missed this in the manual p39, where "in melee" is explained...
  11. The rules manual says if you are in an enemies melee range, youre engaged. So whats if the range is blocked somehow (models, a wall, obscuring fog) are you still engaged and in melee?
  12. Not really. Its says target. Means choose a target. So if you dont want to damage your own stuff, dont target them.
  13. The rats got a 4 inch pack activation rule. When the forces clash you rarely face more than two packs (with multiple activations of course). As long the Hamelin player doenst abuse the rat-eat-themselves-thing. Kirai get 5 nonsense activations every turn with her seishin. Summon the Shikome up to 12" behind blocking cover, wait for Hamelins activation and destroy him. There is not much he can do if he cant make the Shikome insignificant before she gets him. Nimble, fast and flying spirit gets him always and everywhere as long he cant surround himself with so much rats she cant reach him...
  14. Hes not alone with this. In general it works until round 3/4. Then my high cards are gone, some crap left and you dont get much new ones. Usually i have max one good card per turn. You can learn trying to force cheating, but your opponents learn too. My opponents look at the discard pile and "Oh, ill cheat again only if this card is covered", so you dont get to pick it up. They do not save a model by cheating and give me a card to kill another. And how can you afford sacrificing models to get cards? I usually need the kids for the spells, the rats for damage und Hamelins actions anyway for kids supply and make insignificant models. Its not that iam loosing games with Hamelin (worst was a draw), but its not so easy as someone could imagine after reading the OMG Hamelin complain threads.
  15. Why do players think respawning far back is any advantage? Clever positioning to get where your strategies are, yes. But just back where you startet? If Hamelin needs to get run back into action he wastes actions. Which he needs for calling stolen, make models insignificant and whatever. Ca 4 is very bad when trying to make an important model (one with use ss) insignificant. Low on ss, low on hand cards, its not Leveticus who gets a new hand when dying. And most important, this leaves his crew without the additional rat aura support. Dunno if its just my local group but when i face Kirai, Dreamer, Guild with Ryle the rat catchers die. A lot. Without the safety of Hamelins aura your crew melts away. Players ignored him because of the "he comes back anyway" until the Kirai player thought, lets slingshot a Shikome in Hamelins face, and wondered how easily he died. Ok, maybe Kirai is one of the worsed opponents to fight against. When i field him hes the first (dead) target. Obviously, because the rest of the crew respawns somehow. Regarding the changes to Bully, why its working against Size 1 models? Fluff thing i think. Its not a protection for Hamelin, he cannot make models size 1. So deleting this would Gremlins give a chance to fight.
  16. He sucks in melee when going vs targets who survive the hit. His first hit uses fate is meaningless and a high card. 9 damage, fine. And now? For the second you will get a -flip and hurt yourself in most cases.

  18. If the gunsmith uses the explosive ammo for one turn and gets the experimental trigger, do you 1. use the triggers new 2/4/6 damage instead or 2. do you add the blasts from 1/2B/3B explosive ammo to 2/4B/6B final?
  19. There is a thread in the rules section about a peacekeeper and tossing models upwards. Should be similar to this problem. No you cant. Its like flying a nephilim straight upwards for one turn and use transposition.

  21. 1. If you try to reach a target number and get the black joker you fail the action. Does this include attacks, so drawing 3 cards including the BJ do you fail the attack automatically? 2. You draw an extra card to replace the value of a flipped or played ace. The animation card is neither flipped or played, so if you get the ace for animation it keeps its value of 1?
  22. Crooked men are immun to them. Does it mean they A) do not trigger the markers themself, or they trigger them as other models do but are immun the the possible effects?
  23. Playing on the Terraclips terrain is a lot different from normal flat+hills+wood+buildings we had before. 1. The 2" height of the next level does no falling damage. Can you just walk/charge over the edge, fall down and continue your movement with no need for the jump action? 2. If you push a model (with toss for example), do size 1 railings stop the model? 3. I remember i read a ruling about elevations and luring somewhere but cant find it. So when a bell is smiling and you stand on the roof, do you: - just jump? - take the ladder? - take the ladder even if its behind you and your move would end further away than you started? - try to climp the wall down? - cross small railings? 4. A small bridge over hazardous terrain, you got models left and right blocking your move, your only way to your love is jumping into (mayby) deadly mud. So do you jump or just say "Sorry dear, no way"? 5. By the way, the bells player says where to end your push only or does he declares the complete path? Playing against a lureheavy crew really gave us some headache with all those bridges, ladders and multiple levels.

As long you dont care about Hollywood making your grandpas and grandgrandpas something similar to comic $$$$$$$$$$ figures in the war movies, it is funny. Somehow, despite the awful grammar...
