  1. That's sufficiently before the Bar Exam that I feel I can take a day off from studying, and close enough that I'll need one. I guess I'll only be bringing one list.
  2. I had to trade an entire terrain set to get mine.
  3. I've always played where it does, because the model that is shattering "deals damage," which means that BoW would modify that damage.
  4. There are breaks between the subjects. I believe that what Omadon was referring to is the density of some of the entries. Breaking them down from one paragraph each into a few paragraphs would make them easier to read, as it allows the eyes to remember where they are on the page, as well as putting thoughts together in a fashion that makes a cohesive whole. (I'm not saying your thoughts aren't coherently laid out, I saw the length of the paragraphs and did not re-read them.) Otherwise, I commend you for a fine job in organizing this.
  5. I usuallu use the Essence, like you said, the extra damage flip is nice. I usually activate it first, also, to cast December's Touch on 'Tina. The Essence is my totem of choice when running a construct heavy list. I use my Wendigo when I have a list that tends to spread out more. I usually run it behind my Cerberus, spamming December's Touch to give it armor until the Cerberus uses it's greater movement for an assasination run or a token grab. I've never used the Student of Conflict, so I can't help much there. It seems though that the point behind using it would be to give 'Tina fast, for an additional casting of December's Curse. In that case I think you would benefit more from the +1 flip from Essence of Power. With blast damage potential, and the ability to cheat to trigger Overpower, more damage per shot would probably be worth more than an additional shot.
  6. On the other hand, just think of the savings if you don't pay them up-front.
  7. I'd actually put it in the Rules forum, but I'm pretty sure that the answer is "[n]o, he just gets one when he charges, whether he gets to make the attack or not."
  8. JMP_Mydog makes some nice shanty terrain. Check out the store on his website: www.twilightemporium.net
  9. It requires all your actions for that turn, there's not a numerical amount. Just like how a model with Fast couldn't use an (All) action and then a (1) action, a model with Slow loses a (1) action, but still has actions for that turn, thus they still have the ability to perform an (All) action
  10. good, like I said, it was a random thought without a book anywhere nearby.
  11. I think Lalochezia's point was that the model would go into Defensive stance on turn 1, and then activate last on turn 2, effectively giving it two turns worth of protection for just one AP. Personally, I enjoy having the game balance sometimes on who wins the iniative flip. You then get the gamble of "s it worth this soulstone to try to beat his 10?" Sure, sometimes your opponent flips a 13 and there's really no hope of going first, but unless they're using companion to activate all of their models before you go -- and I'm pretty sure only Ortegas and Seamus can do this -- you're still going to be able to activate your model and re-apply defensive stance (or whatever else you're using).
  12. When you swarm up or split up, the models are summoned within 6" right? Is there something that I'm not seeing that would let you move your swarm once, split up (within 6"), use one of those spiders to swarm up (within 6"), move once, split up (within 6"), etc., until you've moved where you want to be and then keep doing that using the extra actions for attacks? Because if that's legal then once your opponent has activated all his models, you could move around and kill all of his. Which would totally defeat the purpose of even playing the game.
  13. Perhaps if your big long posts were shorter, proof-read posts your point would get across better. I'm just saying that "look at the size of my post, of course there will be mistakes" doesn't help you articulate why the Ronin are too broken. Random question: In the title, did you mean too broken as in broken more than is acceptable, or as in broken also? That ambiguity might be leading to a lot of the denials of the general brokenness of the Ronin.
  14. I know Deafnala plays Mordheim solo, he might be a person to tap for some ideas.
  15. I also prefer the Essence of Power over my Wendigo. That being said, if I'm running a Cerberus (a great model for adding speed and flexibility to achieve scenario objectives) I sometimes run the Wendigo with it, to provide December's Touch. As far as the Acolyte, the errata to his special deployment induced me to pick up a Convict Gunslinger, which has been seeing far more use than my Acolyte. Too many Strategies eliminate the ability or practicality of his deployment rule, which is the main reason I picked him up to begin with (I wasn't too hot on the picture, although the model does look better in person). Perhaps in a 40-50 SS game on a larger table I'd use him again, but from a pure ranged power perspective, I prefer the Gunslinger hands down.
  16. I took first with a 35 stone 'Tina list. (2-0-1) PaperbgFox took second with Perdita. (2-1) I'm not sure what everybody else's standings were, just the crew that I rode down with. Greg took fourth with Marcus.
  17. The Convict Gunslinger is always a good option for ranged. With 1/2/4 damage and a CB of 4, the Gamin is not going to be able to provide enough ranged support to make the model worth taking for that reason. If you had a couple of them, then Bite of Winter could raise the damage enough to make the attacks decent at least, but if you're just fielding one, I think Alyce or the Gunslinger, with their higher CBs, damage, and range would be the better options to round out that area of your force.
  18. It was a nice event. I liked that the prize support ran to everybody participating for charity. The extras that Nathan threw in really made the prizes memorable, and the terrain that JMP_MyDog donated made for an excellent first place prize.
  19. I lived in Christchurch for two months, but that was in March-April 2008.
  20. Teeth does have a zero cache. I've never had a problem leaving him around 5-6 stones and still flooding the board with models by turn two. The cheapness and ability to summon Gremlins makes up for his lack of cache. Do they have crappy stats? Yes. But they're better than any other 2 point model in the game. You drew assassinate, and your opponent took bodyguard? Deny them their strategy and you can still win (4-2) or tie based on your schemes. Killing models is fun, but the inability to kill Lillith in melee doesn't make Gremlins under-powered. If she's spending every turn fighting your summoned gremlins, she's not accomplishing her objective. You should be able to make enough models each turn to make the ones that she kills inconsequential. That being said. every time that I've played Teeth vs. Lillith I've had treasure hunt or reconnoiter for my strategies. Simple enough to throw up a wall of Gremlins in front of her and use the rest of the (very large) crew to achieve my objectives.
  21. As a side note to Godspeed's post, All the cool kids are playing Arcanists.
  22. I don't even care if it's that deck, I just want plasticized cards. The edges on mine are all wearing away from shuffling.
  23. That looks like they based it off of my old frat house.
