  1. Out of curiosity did you check with the person who created the cards (not sure are those Ratty's ones ?) just in case they didnt intend people to sell them (even to cover costs). Apologies if you've already checked or made them yourself, just didnt want you to end up selling them and someone getting upset. (Technically you should ask Wyrd as well, since your selling their IP)
  2. My gut feeling is Wyrd have the release schedule about right, they are producing enough models to fill in each years book. I think the area's Wyrd struggle in (and i know they are working on this) is having enough people around to do all those other things that help out, like Revised Website Game Promotion Ancillary products (t-shirts, soulstone counters, strategy decks etc) Wyrd has a huge community following and i think the company is set to go from strength to strength, the card mechanic is still a unique selling point to the game, others have tried to imitate it with little success. The biggest threat is the huge number of skirmish games entering the market and diluting the market, relic knights, super dungeon explore, mercs, and many others. As long as Wyrd continue to produce good mini's (95% are great, some are a little meh), and keep rolling out a new book each year with good background material and new masters/content i think they will do fine and continue to eat into the market share of the big players.
  3. I was under the impression (perhaps wrongly) that the community where beta testing puppet wars at the same time the henchmen were beta testing book 3
  4. Book3 is being beta tested at the moment i believe, and will probably be out before they run out of book2 minis (estimated to run out of book2 stuff around sept/oct). Puppet Wars is also under development.
  5. I did build this http://malifaux.info/storehenchman-locator/ But waiting to get a list of henchman/locations to fully populate it
  6. Simple question, do you feel there is space in the market for a quality news, blog, reviews site. For example a site that concentrated on news in categories, e.g. GamesWorkshop, PrivateerPress, Malifaux, "Other". News, blog posts, battle reports, and proper product reviews.
  7. Your more than welcome to join in (time permitting), and even if you only drop by occasionally i'm sure you'll find some interesting stuff going on.
  8. Ok one for Eric, How do you see the future of Wyrd paint contests, Wyrd used to run more of these i believe and alot of the original forum followers who used the wyrd forums to display and critique seem to have drifted away. I know you guys are just swamped with Malifaux, and Wyrd has now matured into a great miniature company based more around Malifaux, than the original independent mini's concept. But curious to know if there is a plan for more iron painter, rotten harvest and other contests, or if Wyrd would prefer to simply sponsor those events in a different location. While we are on the subject of painting i thought i'd mention another forum that i admin on, Platoon Britannica, originally started as a way to improve the painting standards of uk painters and to help us take back the sword (which we did when Ben won the GD 2 years ago with the clockmaker), although uk focused all are welcome and we have some professional painters floating around helping people progress their own skills.
  9. Would be nice, but Wyrd is a small company and they have their resources focused on models/books so its not likely to happen. They could outsource it to someone to do but given the complexity of Malifaux and the need for it to be perfectly correct (to avoid confusion) it would be tricky. Would also have to be cross developed between apple/android to ensure it doesnt start an argument A decent html5 website might solve the gap, but i dont see a comprehensive app appearing soon. Its a bit like all the "i'd love a pc game", "i'd love a Roleplay game" for Malifaux threads, it takes Wyrd away from their core business.
  10. The problem with four rounds is timing, ideally 4 or more rounds requires a second day, as people who are travelling often dont want to stay past 5pm, and if you start to shorten games then you run into a similar situation with rankings that not all crews perform well in shorter games, same for newer players. I think we got the timing just right on 1hr 45mins per game, James took a note of the hand in times and further analysis will be done there but on average 1/3 of the games were still running at the point time was called. While we are also planning a ladder style event for LWGC one of the things i would like to try and run in the future is a 10 round local tournament with a max of 1 game per week, and 2 weeks allowed to arrange the game. It would be interesting to see how the system runs with such an event.
  11. Coverage now up on - http://malifaux.info/
  12. Leeds Wargaming Centre, a fairly new stockist but building up their stock and concentrating on malifaux. (location of this saturdays malifaux event, 20+ players) (http://www.leedswargamingcentre.com/) Maelstrom are good, their site reliably shows their stock, i never ever ever ever ever use wayland after being burnt a few times on their "stock" system, try adding a warmachine item to their cart and you'll see their stock shows as infinite, which isnt correct. Wayland are however meant to be building a new website but i've yet to see that.
  13. Linked added on badthingshappens in the resources section (http://www.malifaux.info) Might alter the scope of my site to be more news/content driven rather than rules/tactics based now this is available, i'll think about it over the weekend although i think any clash is probably minimal at the moment.
  14. Updated my site with the current announced release schedule, more interestingly i trawled book 2 and put together a list of the models without a current release date. If my maths is correct (might have missed a model) we have 12 models and 2 box sets still to come, that would probably fit with August, September and perhaps October. So if book 3 doesnt appear at Gencon it must be due to appear shortly afterwards or we'll run out of new stuff. http://malifaux.info/newspost/may-june-july-releases/
  15. I was talking to a few players recently about what Malifaux will hold in the future. The general view seems to be that Malifaux wont scale well to large games, i.e. Malifaux doesnt seem to be going the Warmachine/Hordes approach of moving from Skirmish to battle system. That leaves an issue, as more and more books come out, we'll have a larger and large pool of masters to work with, making the game more difficult for new players to enter. Malifaux is heavily story driven, some one option would off course be to kill off Masters, this off course might upset people who had invested alot of time in crew. One idea i had that i though worth sharing was the idea of "Era's". Era's would a be concept of playing your game in a particular part of the Malifaux story time line, depending on where the game was set would limit the Masters available. For example Era 1 - Book 1 Masters Era 2 - Book 2 + Book 1 Masters Era 3 - Book 3 + Book 2 + some book 1 masters (others might have died or evolved) Era 4 -Book 4 + Book 3 + some of book 2 (etc) Lets take Perdita as an example. Perdita is pretty much the same in book1+2 so she would be fine in both era 1+2, but does she die in book 3 ? (who knows), lets assume she does, lets assume she died at the end of book 2, that would make her available in only era 1+2. Now, Santiago enraged at her death might become a master in book3, that would make Santiago (minion) available in era 1+2 and Santiago (master) in era 3, etc. Similarly, Hamelin. Era 1 - Hamelin (minion) Era 2 - Hamelin (master) etc The idea would be you would have a matrix of master vr era, e.g. Model Era1 Era2 Era3 Hamelin Yes No No Hamelin(M) No Yes Yes This concept would also fit in well with the rumoured Avatar forms of masters. When you come to choose the game you play, it could even be that some of games you play might have random era's limiting which of your crew can be hired. Off course if both players agreed you could always play an open era, any vr any game. Tournaments would probably need to specify an Era, for example and Era3+4 Tournament. This is just an idea, and would need alot of fleshing out but thought i'd post it up.
  16. The smoke stacks are pretty large but could easily be cut down and hidden.
  17. Here's my Kaeris and one of the gunsmiths The Kaeris is the McVey Isabelle minus the monkey and with micro art wings, the hand will have a flame on it eventually. The gunsmith's are based on guild guardsmen but with the weapons replaced with larger revolvers.
  18. The content released is no more than already available via the v2 PDF's. Before i put up anything that isnt in the public domain, i.e. on the official wyrd site i check with Nathan anyway.
  19. Here is the proposed format i plan to use on my website for Master's. The page includes all the masters stats, if you hover over a red link it will display the tooltip for that ability. Ultimately (not ready yet) clicking on those links will then take you to a detailed page about that ability, so where spells are shared across many models, e.g. obey, the obey page would provide detailed examples on its use. Opinions ? example http://malifaux.info/perdita/ Thanks
  20. Ok, so i've decided to revert to the original theme for the site, didnt like the new one as much. http://malifaux.info/ Stuff done Galleries are complete, but i want to redo all images to black backdrops when a get a spare moment. A Store Locator/Henchmen locator, see the instructions for getting your location added. An events section, again see instructions for adding events Resources section, linked most of Ratty's wonderful stuff Alot more to come
  21. Ok a very basic shell of the site is up, let me know what you think. The talent, spells section will appear later, i'm going to concentrate on one faction at a time at first, starting with guild. http://malifaux.info/
  22. To be honest i trust you enough to give you an ftp account to a section of the site, so you could maintain them from a ratty sub dir, that would give you the ability to update the downloads as well. Happy to do it either way, either iframe the organiser off your site, or provide access.
  23. Yeap i'll be around Sat/Sun, just finishing off the 40k board for the store at the moment, then i need to get the next Malifaux board ready for the tournament in May.
  24. I know Nathan and Eric enjoy a joke, Sorry guys couldnt resist (in all seriousness thanks for the PDF alot of companies wouldnt have provided it for free and i expected a much more cut down version to be honest).
