  2. We'll be running demos at Myth Games in Calgary Alberta on Sept 17th from noon until 6pm. Come on out and give it a whirl if you're curious. all models and supplies provided.
  3. True story, I went to high school with Chris Osgood. He's kind of an ass regardless of talent.
  4. http://www.mythacon.ca/ I will be hosting a 30SS tournament at Mythacon 2 the first weekend of September, in Calgary, Alberta
  5. I used them before but won't touch them agan. I had 3 separate orders go "missing" awhile back. And one that wasn't what I ordered. No communication, and when I did get a response the one time, it was we'll look into it, and never heard back from them, and they stopped replying to my e-mails. The prices are great, but so not worth the Russian roulette of whether or not you get your stuff.
  6. So who's going? I got my badge and a room booked. Gonna be looking for someone to share the room with though if anyone is interested. Omni-Severin is where I am staying. Very nice hotel. Looking forward to it as I missed last year while going through my break-up. Excited to play some Malifaux, Infinity and run demos for a bunch of games again. I'll probably do some HellDorado introductory games as they were popular the first year I ran 'em, and the game should be in good otion by then.
  7. So I just noticed I forgot to post this in this forum for everyone to see: January 14th to 16th sees the first annual Myth-a-con gaming convention in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Saturday morning will see a Malifaux event, a 30SS tournament. In addition I will be running demos at the same time so come on by and check it out. More info and registration here: http://www.mythacon.ca/
  8. And Space Marines aren't true 28mm scaled miniatures. They have Heroic proportions ad fit between 28mm and 32mm scales.
  9. We're fairly certain they do, as they aren't spririts, connstructs, or undead, but we couldn't find a definition for Woe, and wanted to be sure. I was asked this, and when looking for rules to back me up, I couldn't find anything specific about Woes. His argument was understanding how Kade or Candy could, but the Sorrows don't seem to have a physical body. It's semantics, but as I am demoing, I'd like definitive answers.
  10. When I first used Leveticus before the DE and SPA were available, I fielded 3 Necropunks, Steamborg Executiner and Alyce. I only played twice with him, and I got trounced, but it was the first 2 times I used him and before we had a regular circle of people playing. We just started up again a few weeks ago.
  11. Got mine all loaded up, and I love it. I do find the one trays with smaller slots lacking a little, but I`ve got figs that fit there. The downside is I`ve almost filled the bag. The price was a little high at $108 Canadian, but It`s a good bag that fits everything but mar cards, which is fine with me. They`re in a box with scenery in it.
  12. Mine came into the LGS this week. Should pick it up tonight or tomorrow. It as smaller than I had imagined for some reason
  13. So they decided to do a couple dynamic sculpts and use the flat helmet look, therefore they MUST be stealing ideas from Infinity? I understand being a fan of a game, but really? Yeah GW is guilty of pilfering IP for their stuff, but there's no way it's a direct rip-off. Everything is influenced by something and I'm sure I could find tons of things that have used that style. Like Anime. I like the new DE, and am sorely tempted by them.
  14. I don't think that's the major issue at all. Many of us would be happy to play large scale games. It's the fact they went to PPP and abolished the skirmish game.
  15. I've seen 2 pics of the new sculpts, and they are all "OMG!!". Really. I'd love to link to them but I don't have it as I saw it on someone elses's comp.
  16. Thanks. So far we seem to be getting a lot of interest. I ran guy through the mechanics, and he loved it. Nabbed the books, Lilith and Sonnia, an Lilith was painted and I played a full game with him last night. As all the Warmachine guys looked on in interest so with any luck a few of those will be biting as they did like the minis. Gonna try and finish Nicodem, and start Necropunks that I had for Levi.
  17. I went with a limited palette on these, sticking to browns and greys for simplicity, time constraints, and because they are dirty zombies! The only spark of colour is the scarf on Mortimer and the hair on the zombies. Sadly, the yellow light washes out the colour a bit too so they come across a little dull.
  18. So it's been awhile. I had a GenCon Blog for '09, and had to miss this year, so I've been out of the Malifaux loop for a little. But the other week, my LGS of choice, Myth Games in Calgary, Alberta started carrying Malifaux. Last week he brought i the rulebook, cards, and a majority of starters. On Saturday I went in to give him a hand placing an order for blisters not foun in starters and such. And to support Malifaux in his store I picked up the Nicodem starter as I didn't have any Resurrectionists in my collection. The ex had Seamus and his Zombie hookers. So Nicodem will be a demo force for the store, that I will leave on display. I got everything assembled on Saturday, and started painting on Sunday, finishing 2 zombies on Monday night. I finished off Mortimer, and the 3rd Zombie last night as well as starting Nicodem. Got his pants and coat and flesh done. This is a quick paint job project, Tableop Quality demo Starter Box for display and use at Myth Games, my LGS of choice. So there aren't a lot of highlights, it's basicall drybrushing and washes. Eyes are also not done, nor are teeth. I personally can't see faces without super strong glasses in my old age, so I don't spend a lot of time on faces for tabletop gaming models. I might go back and do some facial details later. Here's some quick pics of the zombies and Mortimer:
  19. Confrontation had the little dolls as well in the MidNor line.
  20. Haven't read any other posts, but here's how we did it: There was only a comic/game shop (with no gaming space) where I am originally from (Medicine Hat, Alberta), so a friend decided to get a gaming club together. We started out by renting the basement of the Red Cross building every Tuesday night. In this place we had two large rooms and a couple smaller rooms. You could play Shadowrun (2nd), Dangerous Journeys, or other RPG's in the smaller rooms, and board games and Magic or minis games in the large rooms. Mike would come around and collect $2 from everyone coming to the club to pay for the rental fees. People grumbled, bt the majority realised he wasn't making money off it. In fact, he was often out of pocket for it. We used that building for over a year, and then as the club started dwindling in size as people went off to school or such, we rented a classroom at an elementary school. Up in Edmonton there is/was a game club that rented a building permanently, and people pay their club fees, etc.
  21. I think that's more to do with the fact that their shipments are coming from China than anything. Rackham had the same issues with AT-43 and Confrontation shipments, and other companies have had the same issues.
  22. I believe the last bit of news was that they are restructuring the way they do things as they were switching over to metal miniatures from the resin they were using, as well as repackaging the lines.
