  1. Ooh..the anticipation...something previewing at GenCon?
  2. Hey all, I have recently outgrown my 2 Reaper mini bags and have thought about upgrading to either a Sabol or Battlefoam bag. I have no experience on either, and was wondering what some of the pros and cons of each are. I'm looking for efficiency, protection, ease of transport, and something that's not going to subject me to a strip search at baggage check in. Thanks in advance!
  3. The do it yourself laminate sheets are really the best deal at about a buck a piece for the 8x10 sheets. You could also look into these: http://www.staples.com/C-Line-Clear-5-x-7-Photo-Holders/product_CLI52572?cmArea=SC2:CG22:DP2182:CL163263:SS942701 but they are a little big, and the cards have a habit of sliding around in them.
  4. I got an email notification from the Warstore that my canines and Peacekeeper shipped yesterday. Ah, the anticipation...
  5. oops... still a learning process for me. Hey... what's with the Wyrd name? Should we be enemies?
  6. Welcome to the forums. The models are what sucked me in as well.
  7. I played with one in a Seamus gang for the first time recently. Linked to a Grave Spirit really kept him alive for much longer that he should have been. I played against the Ortegas (with a Governor's Proxy), so even with Trail of Fears, the WP duels were a toughie. Whisper from Beyond helped to seal the Executioner's fate, but the Hanged wasn't able to accomplish much more. I look forward to trying him out again though, he was still pretty fun.
  8. Send them an email. I'm sure they will send you a new one. If the version of the model that you purchased was released before the cards were included, you will may need to pat for it. Not an official response, just what I've gathered from looking through the forums...
  9. About a decade ago, I used to post on a Runequest rpg forum under the name, Darkchaos. When I went to my first 40k forum, that name was used, so I went for the Spanish equivalent.
  10. For 25 ss, i like to go with: Seamus Sybelle (6ss) 2 Belles (8ss) Flesh Construct (7ss) Necropunk (3ss) Grave Spirit (1ss) The idea behind them is for the Belles to use Lure to pull problematic enemy models either into melee with the Flesh Construct or Sybelle, as well as to lower their Def with Undress. The Necropunk is there for the hard to get at models that like to hide in hard to reach areas and snipe (it also makes an effective Belle after dying), finally Seamus multi-tasks, eliminating some of the opponent's heavy hitters with the Flintlock, backing up the Belle's Lure and undress with his negative Willpower aura, and raising Belle's at every opportunity. A 30ss game is similar, with the Convict Gunslinger (and 2 extra SS) replacing the Necropunk, and giving the gang a little extra firepower.
  11. Thanks for the post. I haven't gotten to see Jones in action yet. He sounds pretty mighty!
  12. Welcome. From one forum noob to another.
  13. I'm too lazy to paint myself; I hire it out to a friend. Somewhere between the two of us lies the perfect gamer.
  14. Nice read. I haven't gotten to play with or against Ramos or Rasputina yet, but the Steamborg is one of my favorite models; glad to see he stuck it out to the end.
  15. I usually get together with a friend in Seymour on my day off. A couple of my friends play down at Sci-Fi, but I haven't yet.
  16. I will personally always love the visual of two large, well painted armies on a 6' by 4' table. I got into 40k back in '92, and amassed quite a large collection. I can still buy the occasional model or squad to get an updated looking army without a large investment. But with the regular price increases, a 40k (or fantasy for that matter) army would cost a new player a small fortune. I honestly don't know how a high school or college student could afford to drop $600 or so for a new army. I think that skirmish systems like Malifaux are a great new alternative, and quite honesty, aside from the monetary issue, I feel that 40k has streamlined their rules so much that you lose the special character feel that I always loved about the game.
  17. New Ressurectionist player from outside of Knoxville, TN. I've only played a few games so far, but I've become a quick convert from 40k. I've purchased the entire Ressurectionist line, as is available, and have started on the Arcanists with Pandora's box, but haven't tried them out yet.
  18. I've always used Simple Green, and an old toothbrush. I recently upgraded to one of the electric "spin" brushes; it seems to help get into the detail areas that the paint gathers into on the plastic models.
