That is a rather impressive paint job on what is otherwise to me a boring figure.

That's some really nice stuff. I have a weakness for well done pieces with an Arabian flair.

My very first experience here I got disqualified from the Femme Fatale because someone posted my entry with a link in their livejournal. It was a very odd and annoying situation. Suffice to say I'm a big fan of the non anonymous contests, but I do occassionally enter something for the fun of it and I strongly support the Wyrd boards as a whole. Those of us who find the secrecy thing frustrating tend to go all in for the Iron Painter instead.

Rezolution just doest do it for me. I think the lines arnt sharp enough for my tastes. VOID was a good one for Shadowrun though.

I do the opposite of what Jabber does. I Do each line in one swoop of the brush. That way it looks less splotchy. Then I'll go back over it and clean up any areas where it strayed from where I intended to put it. Also, and this sounds weird, but it helps, breath out as you paint the line. It makes the motion smoother.

When I actually get my Shadowrun game going I'm so using it as an excuse to pick up a bunch of infinity models.

No, she's not. I'm getting there though. Her dress is done. Now I just have to figure out how to fake the hair and face that are so poorly sculpted. It's the disadvantage to painting what are basically old plastic toys. Though all my happy new Reaper ProPaints have been rebottled and properly arranged to fit in my carry thingie.

Yell you what, since it will be the first project ever where I've done *all* the art for it, I'll let you know when it comes out and you can have your own Noel Meyer painted game.

The dolphins are plastic safari world toys that came in a tube. The elves, the sting ray and the big fish are from Reaper, and everything else I did myself.

I did try using a soft mat black background, it just looked dusty. My photography skills just arent up to the challenge I'm afraid.

I realized I promised to show you guys the combined piece when I finally finished the sea elves and I've been sadly remiss. So here they are, as originally intended. There was no way on earth I was finishing this whole thing in an Iron Painter tound so I took and did it in two parts. The female was done for Iron Painter 4 and the male was done for ReaperCon 2008. I spent the summer putting them together on to one base and showed it off at the MMSI show. Hows that for getting my mileage out of one piece? And if you want to see more angles I put up a bunch in my gallery as well.

I liked this idea a lot. As much as Iron Painter *is* about the long haul and the one on one dynamic, six rounds was just too damned long. My family started rooting for me to lose so that they'd see me again. Bah, I still get to snigger at the woosies who only had to go five rounds of Iron Painter. I'm with you on this one. I'd like to go in on the next one, but I'm not sure it's doable if it runs over the holidays. What size brush are you using?

By the way I tried to vote off the homepage in the poll on the sidebar and it gave me an error.

Hmmmm.. let me try this again with the emphasis in the right place. I have no idea what *I* would use it for.
