  1. There's a nice tutorial up over at Hasslefree's website by yours truely. Here's the finished figure from it. LINK
  2. When you are on the homepage theres a bit under your avatar that says "new posts" Click on this to bring up the threads with new posts.
  3. I like that. The hair and skirt flow very nice.
  4. I got an honourable mention in the first catagory too for a sculpt.....Well chuffed.:dancing2: Yes I have Miranda and Beach Babe painted in my gallery. Miranda Beach Babe Avicenna did a better job with beach babe. I missed the mark on the base. Its actually clear with only the surf around the feet white but the pics look like shes wading in snow.
  5. I like them all. I think the sweetness of Dot is a great contrast to the munchkins and possibly the "darker" ideas that Steve has for the rest of the range. The 54mm Gladiator guy was sculpted mainly by Neil Roberts and touched up by Steve.....just a little info there. I sort of agree about the sword, doesn't quite fit the rest IMO.
  6. Nice gallery mate. I do see a liberal amount of Tamiya clear red among that lot.:thumb:
  7. I dabbled myself a bit with details under final skin layers. Mainly veins on a few Celtos Gaels I did. Looks great in the hand but as you all sussed is pretty pointless for photos. Next big thing....havn't got a clue.
  8. This is how I paint most of my stuff though I call it glazing. Sounds like there is too much paint on the brush if its pooling.
  9. Sounds like fun. Like the special rules.:thumb: I have never gamed "properly" mainly becuase of the depth of rules and something like this would help me out. Looks single player friendly too.
  10. Hmmm Can't say I've had any bad experiences apart from postal crap. Thumbs up to the Forum of Doom triumverate. Heresy......great blokes, great range great service. Spyglass......Steve's one of my favourite sculptors and the service from him is very good. Ordered a figure one day it came in the post the next. I'm sure the guy hand delivers them (unless he has little munchkin helpers). Hasslefree.....second to none. Truely great guys that will do anything for you and with sincerity too. Oh and they make nice toys too. Yes big thumbs up to Wyvern. Going above what is necessary to help out with the painting class and sending me a free piece of lead too. It's things like that which helps restore my faith in humanity.
  11. Ive just started using it really so not much help here. I mixed it with skull white paint and added it like putty then give it a dusting after. Try a dab of superglue on the area you are adding to ? @Eric.....the stuff looks very much like a product we used to use for thickenning epoxy resins to make gel coats. Stuff was called aerosil and was deadly if inhaled. I might look up the snowflakes to see what it is.
  12. *cough* ERIC *cough* Hopefully you are doing your second metallic job. HINT HINT. Scared of freehand my arse. :thumb:
  13. Cheers Matt. Yeh 2 part clear epoxy glue. Multitude of uses. Thats on Munchie's base too with a little red paint added. @Nathan......wasn't sure about the Ogre too but when I tried to upload it again it said it was cos it was over 250k.
  14. OK Ive thrown loads of stuff into my gallery just wait for them to be approved.
  15. Yup sure will. Just been a bit lazy. In my proper gallery though.
  16. I dont like to pick on figures not being realistic but how the hell can they fight with all those different weapons. End up chopping himself to bits.
  17. Yep the head is small in proportion but everything looks good. Im after a tablet myself.
  18. That does the job nicely.
  19. Tube hair girl has some serious attitude. Great.
  20. I like the paintjob Cindy and the greens are great too. Im doing some 15 mm myself at the moment. Well I have a body done.
  21. Well from another point of view and I'm being totally honest I believe that for rankings on cmon to be more accurate older figures should be put back through the system. See a 10 rated figure 4 years ago probably wont be now. Thats my view on that and not really anything to do with the fact that your pic has gone. Last server switch a load of accounts were doubled so its possible just a glitch. Maybe they have culled the older stuff ?? Do you have anything older still in your account ? I still like cmon and still like being part of the community there but the scoring/ranking system has totally gone out of the window for me now. I like to post my pics there still becuase most of them are commissions and I feel its part of my service to pimp the paintjobs.
  22. Nice Eric. Banner is perfect IMO. Subtle but very fitting. Nice simple base sounds good to me.
  23. I forgot. I like miniature painting becuase they are my only friends. I like miniature sculpting becuase I am making new friends. Disturbing thing is I actually mean that.
