4thstringer
What does the Duel total in the critical hit trigger refer to? If I have a positive flip, and flip two cards with rams, is that 2 for the duel total? How about if I flip another ram as a part of the damage. Is that an additional +1? How about if I flip 3 cards for damage (double neg flip). If all those are rams, will they add on too? We have been playing it that only the card used by the attacker is in the duel total, limiting the plus to 1 unless riflemen or daschel are involved. 0 Agnelcow
We have been playing it that only the card used by the attacker is in the duel total. From pg. 30 of the large rulebook: "The model flips one card (plus any additional cards for Fate Modifiers) then chooses one flipped card as the active card and discards the others[...] Add the current card to the required stat (both value and suit). This is the model's current duel total." So a Duel Total is the sum of the card chosen in a flip and the stat to which is flip is linked, including the suits of the chosen flipped (or cheated) card and (if applicable) the stat. So a model with Critical Strike that has a in its stat and which flips (or cheats) a card that is used in the duel can add +2 damage to the damage profile since it has :ram in its duel total. 0 dgraz
Triggers are based off of the Attack flip.....not the damage flip. Only one card is chosen as the final card....even with plus flips, so the trigger is based off of that card. The number of Rams in the total can add up. The first is the card......you could also have one built into the attacking stat......for example, Lady J has a Ram on her melee stat....meaning no matter what you flip, she always has at least one Ram....if you also flip or cheat one, she'll have two........a third could be gained by burning a SS for a suit....so conceivably, Lady J could have 3 Rams in her total for +3 damage. 0 The Godlyness
Now to really make you think look at the guild rifleman. Gets a ram from focus, gets a ram if guardsmen activated already near him and can cheat on in. For some super crazy long range damage. (4/5/7) But as stated above the damage flip does not confer suits to the duel total.
