Old models in M2E

count_zero99uk

Question

Hi there, Being an exceptionaly slow painter at the best of times and having no one to game with at the moment ive not actualy painted up either of the forces I picked up a couple of years ago when I found out about malifaux. Now I see that a 2nd ed is coming out, will these models become redundant? Also are the new rules a complete redo, will the old expansions be uncompatable? Thanks for looking, also for some reason (return) isn't working in this text box. Take care Brian.

Every model you own can be used in the New edition*, but the rules are not compatable at all.

Wyrd are selling Arsenal decks which contain the M2E cards for older models in to allow you to use the old models. The cards are also in the rule book (although the second wave of figures migth not have a book).

Any M2E product will be of no use to you if you play 1.5.

*Misaki and Hamelin are only going to exist in Master form in M2E, but you can use your metal minion models of them as Master if you want, you would probably need to rebase Hamelin and also rebase Nix pending on final rules for them.

The rule book and the arsenal cards for wave 1 are supposed to hit the shops in September. The official release of M2E is early next year following compeletion of the second beta. From the sounds of what you have, you only have wave one models, so should be able to play all you have out of the rule book (althought I would recomend getting the Arsenal packs for Guild and Neverborn as using cards is so much easier than playing out of the book, they are $8 each so I would expect about 5 pounds each).
