Limelizard
Can someone explain how Desolation Engine works with Steampunk Abominations when it can't be summoned?
Alviaran
Because Concentrated Deformation (the Steampunk Abomination ability that lets you sacrifice four of them to get a Desolation Engine) does not summon an Engine. It REPLACES the Abominations instead. The cannot be summoned thing is because of Nicodem who can summon any non-character Undead.
Limelizard
Was the card updated? There's nothing in the models errata and I don't have Malifaux 1.5 yet.
Alviaran
Look at Concentrated Deformation. The card already states to "Replace these models with 1 Desolation Engine". AFAIK the card has always said this. The four I have here all say that. 1.5 says it. I'd bet the original book (if I could figure out where mine is) would say it too. Alex
Nope, original book does say "summon" on the SPA's entry. It has since been errataed, which was incorporated into the V2 cards.
Alviaran
Unlike my other cards, these do not say v2 on them. Could it have been caught before cards came out and corrected? I've seen that with books in other games (see: Blood Hag in Warmachine whose card is correct because of errata but the book is incorrect)
Lucidicide
Yes, SPAs have no v2 card, but the card itself is different than the book.
