Can a model sacrifice itself?

From the new errata page

"Q:Can a model kill or sacrifice itself?

A: Yes. Unless the Talent/Spell causes a fixed number of wounds and those wounds would drop the model to 0 Wounds."

Now according to this FAQ a master can now use Drain Soul on him or herself because it does not cause a fixed number of wounds and it does not drop a model to 0 wounds. Is this correct? If it is if goes directly against what Karn had ruled several times before.

P.S. Juat an after thought... where is Karn. Hes hasnt posted in months.

Sadly, you are correct. It's now almost impossible to get kill credit for StD masters, along with a whole slew of other consequences.

Do you mean sKeTcH? I don't think Karn was ever official a Rules Marshal for Malifaux. He is one for Puppet Wars though.

Well if this is the case then Levi just got an easy button. Instead of calculating how many wounds I need to inflict I'm just going to cast unnatural wasting a few times and then Sac him for a SS.

P.S. Yeah I meant sKeTcH. Regardless I haven't see either as of late.

Drain Souls should probably just be removed. It messes up schemes and strategies as well.

That is brilliance! Must try this out might be a bit tricky finishing up on the 1Ap every time to do it - Just have to remember that -1wp that stacks up on the crew if you keep doing it

Yeah, I did post the question in the new FAQ section at the time but it got conveniently ignored (even though other questions I raised at the same time got answered). As it stands, you can sacrifice your Master - which is (surprise surprise) most useful to Hamelin as he can now teleport across the board to Stolen almost at will.

And re Sketch, I've been told he's no longer with Wyrd.
