Question

Hello All,

This is my first post on these forums, so please put up with my noobiness. Well lets start off with who i am my name is sunny and i live in derby (UK) and i am 28 years old.

Well i do have a question for all that can help, i have had two intro games by a nice henchman called mitch, but that was some time ago and i have kinda forgot the rules. Which isn't the problem.

The problem is i have ordered the showgirls boxset with mechanical doves and the two twin puppets that combine, But i want a second set to collect so i can get my mates/family to game with me and was thinking viktoria's.

Will the game be balances if i ordered the starter set or would one thrash the other as i would want a fair fight, so both players have fun. The reason i chose the viktoria's is i do not paint many female mini's so i thought why not their brill sculpts!

If i do get the Vik's i would like to boost them upto 35 soulstones but what other minis should i get with the vik's starter set.

Also does anyone know where i can find people to game with as i am based in the UK, always wanting to meet new people in the hobby, best part of the hobby!

Cheers

Sunny.

I rather like running the Friekorps Librarian with the Viks to heal them (you can buy the Librarian separate, but I got her with Von Schill's box set because he's also a fun crew to play). Additionally, Misaki is really interesting and brings some versatility to the field. Plus, you can never go wrong with the Ronin. Those gals are fun too.

And, as an added bonus, if you get any or all of these figures they're all gals so you get to pain MORE female minis. ;)

You won't go wrong with a blister of Ronin for the Viks. Since Viks players usually always want to take max Soulstones, at 35ss taking 3 Ronin leaves you 12ss for other models, and the contents of the Viks boxset are fine to round that out. Von Schill is usually the next Viks purchase after Ronin.

The crews could not be more different (Viks are direct damage melee specialists and the Showgirls are hit and run movement junkies with magical tricks galore). While the Viks are easy to get to grips with, the Showgirls take a bit of working out, so your first few games might go to the Viks before you learn the Showgirl ropes.

Hope you enjoy it! I have both crews and love 'em :)

If there's a skilled player running Colette and her girls around the board, indeed, Colette can do horrible horrible things to you mostly involving Disappearing Act. Also, the Coryphee Duet is like swallowing a greased and rabid rat: goes down fast but hurts like hell in the process.

As long as Colette has showgirls on the table and she's playing carefully, she's very hard to touch. Having said that, though, in an actual fight she can't stand up to any real punishment, nor can her girls.

(I also may still be stinging from a serious beating I took from the last game I played against a Colette crew with the Viks. Your bitterness may vary. ;) )

Do Not be discouraged, the Viks are pretty competitive and can really bring the pain to much anyone. Some will say it's a simple Crew, and it most probably is, but that's pretty much one of its strenghts, and its learning curve is lesser than a lot of other Masters'.

Ronins, Freikorps, Convict Gunslinger, Sue, Misaki & the Ten Thunder Brothers... Even Hans and Jack Daw; any Mercenary model can work well on a Viktorias Crew.

Lemme add that it's as much to do with skill as crew composition. There have been more than a few times my wife's played Colette against my Vik's and it's ended in victory for me... followed by sleeping on the couch. *grin*

Don't be discouraged! I personally love playing the Viks, even though I've started drinking the Guild Koolaid recently, they're extremely good at what they do: punching things in the face with pointy objects. :)

Thanks Bruglyother i also just bought that and a lilth starter set as it was going for cheap :)

In case you don't know it, you really need a clam of Young Nephilim for your Lilith Crew, or you won't be able to make the Tots grow without them
