Multiple Totems Question – Primordial Magic

I am fiddling with the crew creator on malifaux.com doing a Zoraida army list that includes Collodi. I noticed the creator is letting me take the primordial magic totem twice, once on Zoraida and once on Collodi. Book two confirms that henchmen taken as part of a master’s crew CAN link to a second totem. Does this mean my max hand size would legally increase to 8 (in a scrap) because of the arcane reservoir ability on both totems? Obviously if the totems got killed the hand size increase would go back down. Just wanted a reality check that this was legal….

Effects with the same name do not stack, so I think you'd still be stuck at 7.

Does that rule definitely apply here? I thought an effect was something that was applied to a model.

Yep. I quite often take Jack Daw and Primordial Magic with Pandora. This only gives you 7 cards as the abilities don't stack. But is still worth it for the high cast on the Primordial.
