dsmiles
I'll be using generic plaster. It comes in the Woodland Scenics brand rock-making diorama kit. It's easy to mix, and seems pretty solid (for plaster).

Dreygan
Ok, I realize this is kind of a dead thread, but since you linked it in another forum, I have a question for you. To use the sponge for that texture, did you just mix the plaster, press it in like a stamp and were done? or did you leave the sponge in till it started to set? or waited till it was close to set then press in? Maybe im just confused due to the only plaster experience i have being plaster of paris, but when I used it many years ago, you made your mold and just poured the plaster into it and let it set overnight. I also think I remember the plaster being quite runny.
Vinncent
I used piece of criss-cross (sanding mesh), which is glued onto a flat surface and flooded it with plaster.
