  1. Ok, I have a simple issue. I need a primer that works well for both metal and plastic. I used to use games workshop, but switched to the brand that has the munchkin characters on it and like that one as well, but im tired of paying so much and have heard mention of people using other brands as well. I would prefer not to brush it on and don't want to buy an airbrush at this point. The thing that scares me about the normal sprays like rustoleum is im afraid they will either melt the plastic or coat too thick and cover detail, so don't want to just pick one and use it. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
  2. Most vp when turns end. Yes you can win with no models left.
  3. I think it ended up taking 4 evenings after work.
  4. Finally finished my Teddy. The sculpting at least. First from scratch sculpt I've ever attempted and pretty happy with it. Now for painting.
  5. i did forget about that, though, i had thought about it to begin with. figured if it was a brawl i would use zoraida and dreamer. figured that could be... well... mean... The person who runs events at my LGS had at one point mentioned wanting to do a tournament where (for example) you have a 50 point pool of models, each game would be 25 or 30 or whatever, and you would build your crew each game but were limited to the models in your 50 point pool.

you shouldnt need him to run the crew, who are you hiring for? *tested on the wyrd creator too and its not working, unless somebody else posts before then i'll check my cards when im home tonight
  7. So this saturday i will be taking part in a tournament, they are listing it as 50ss, though cant get clarification if thats per game or a pool that you pull from each game. Have a couple crews in mind either way so wanted to get some opinions. If you play a smaller crew each game: Zoraida Collodi 4x Marrionette 2x Stitched Carrion Effigy Weaver Widow Tuco Maybe 1 wicked doll. If you play the full 50ss: Zoraida Collodi 4x Marrionette 2x Stitched Carrion Effigy Weaver Widow Doppelganger Maybe 1 wicked doll. Any changes or suggestions you guys would make?
  8. wow that shapeways site looks like a fantastic idea.
  9. ok so what did you use to "print" your model?
  10. I know this post is from a few days ago, but would shrug off matter for the conduit poison? From my understanding you conduit, the poison happens at the end of the turn, when the model activates next turn it takes 2 damage, removes a counter, then can shrug off the second, then at the end of turn (assuming the totem didnt change targets) the 2 poison refreshes. Right?
  11. That might be kinda how I go, partly why i mentioned wanting to figure out cobwebs, but no clue how i'd do that. Got a chance to take a quick pick of the two different bases I currently have for the rest of the crew.
  12. So up to this point i based models by crew, which while nice has caused a couple issues for me. So my Zoraida crew was the first one i got together, and i had not based her at that point, just glued her in and figured id just glue on some sand later, my standard basing strategy. But since then i have started getting more into modeling my bases and such, so when i got Collodi i got inspired and all the bases are planked to look like an extremely worn creepy stage. I just got some a carrion effigy for the zoraida/collodi group and a weaver widow and decided the carrion effigy will be my tester for my zoraida basing so i built a dock and dirt underneath etc so it looks slightly similar to the style of the wyrd bayou bases, and i thought if i painted the wood somewhat similar i could tie the two together like collodi made his stage out of old dock wood or something like that. But then i hit my weaver widow. In that dress i dont know if i quite like the bayou idea, and she wouldnt be a performer. I almost want to do cobwebs on her base or something but dont think i could accomplish that in a way that i would like with how much of her base she fills. I ALMOST am tempted to get a cobblestone base like i used for hamelen as i kinda invision her as a character that would sneak into the outskirts of the city at night for various reasons but then she wouldnt fit into the crew basing at all. So I decided to post here and see if any of you had suggestions? I can try to post a pic of the collodi bases and the effigy base tonight if it would help. Thanks!
  13. Ok, I realize this is kind of a dead thread, but since you linked it in another forum, I have a question for you. To use the sponge for that texture, did you just mix the plaster, press it in like a stamp and were done? or did you leave the sponge in till it started to set? or waited till it was close to set then press in? Maybe im just confused due to the only plaster experience i have being plaster of paris, but when I used it many years ago, you made your mold and just poured the plaster into it and let it set overnight. I also think I remember the plaster being quite runny.
  14. Well, arcanists dont count... bleh... As far as the other beckoner and the other models that have bugged me, i think it is mostly in comparison to the drawn portion. Maybe its just the exaggeration so that details will show after painting but many of them were driving me nuts.
  15. Is it just me or are all the new digital sculpted models significantly more endowed than what we used to see? I mean i realize there were plenty of models built similarly before, but they didnt seem to be nearly as drastic. Looking at the beckoners for example, the art is very reasonable but the sculpt is just rediculous. It seems to be the same case on every female model thats been released so far. Is it just me or is it seeming this way to anybody else?
