For restless dead what counts as placed? Specifically if a canine remains or sebastian does for you master to pass a corpse counter to the Avatar does that count as a counter being placed within 6" of him? Or does the ability really mean generated within 6"?

My take is any time a Corpse counter lands on the table in range it becomes a Mindless Zombie. So I would figure the abilities above would end up creating mindless Zombies.

^ That's what I reckoned but does it actually land on the table? Basically I just wanted someone to officially rule on it as it might change the way I buld my lists somewhat

I think when a model living or undead is killed instead of dropping a corpse counter, it is instead turned into a mindless zombie. Or that is how I feel it was intended.

The counter never hits the table with For You Master, it goes from one model directly to another. So it would not make a Zombie.

I'm curious about how I should interpret 'Non Mindless Zombie Corpse Counter' in the ability. Does it refer to the fact that Mindless Zombies count as corpse counters? Or does it refer to corpse counters being left behind after a Mindless Zombie is killed?

Pretty sure it's the former. Otherwise it would say something closer to, "a Corpse Counter generated by a Mindless Zombie's death" etc.

It refers to the fact that Mindless Zombies count as corpse counters

That's pretty strong. It basically means that any Mindless Zombies that die within the effect's range automatically come back as fresh mindless zombies. It also makes AvaNico rather difficult to take out since you can't really get rid of the MZs.....

I'd try to do everything I can to just Pop ANico... As I recall, his ability to shunt attacks off to MZs Sacrifices them, which doesn't generate a counter if I recall Correctly...
