Cassandra's Celebrity Wording

Can't find a RM answer to this, can anyone help?

Celebrity says cannot be targeted unless it's by ranged attacks and spells. Is that -

1) Ranged attacks and ANY spells?

2) Ranged attacks and ranged spells?

I would go with 1 but that is only my opinion ( I like to obey her early doors)

I think it is supposed to be option 1, Ranged Attacks and any variety of Spell.

But I see where your coming from, the Ranged Attacks part could be read to include the Spells and there is also the whole sub set of spells with a Gun icon in the range that makes them Ranged Attack Spells. But the intention to me (for what it's worth) seems to be any type of Spell as well as any ranged attack.

I vote for option 2!

Her celebrity has very little effect otherwise, especially when first 2 turns there isnt usually much melee going on in the game anyway. so very little use out of Celebrity if she can be attacked by any spell.

This is a very ambiguously worded ability that's been asked about here several times before and I've never seen a Rules Marshall weigh in and put it to rest. [edit - cheers Sketch you beat me to it!]

For me, if RAW is unclear I turn to RAI. If her celebrity status is making her enemies hesitate before targeting her (up close), then they'd also be reluctant to use any non-ranged spells (up close).

Ranged attacks and ranged spells would be coming from far enough away that the attacker doesn't recognise her.

Hence I think it should be 2
