This question may have already been answered before. But I cannot find where. So sorry for repeats.
When exactly is a model considered a defender in a duel? I've read the rule book and it seems you're only a defender when dueling against another model's statistic. But, not a defender when defending against a target number. Such as, I'm not a defender when resisting a terrifying 12 model, thus not getting any WP bonuses I might have when playing, say, Von Schill.

Is this correct?
