Fettster
Hi, Sorry if this has all been answered elsewhere, but I have looked and couldn't find the answers. Is the Born on the Bayou box set playable as is, or do we need to add to it? Can we play the Born on the bayou set without purchasing Rising Powers? We are also getting the Death Marshalls, Redchappel gang, Order of Chimera and Legion of Sorrow between our group. Are these all playable as is or should we add them to begin with? Many Thanks Leigh

Many Thanks Leigh If you have a rules manuel, you have everything you need to play Born on the Bayou. All box sets are playable as is. That is the beauty of this game. When you get them there will be some assembly required, but you have enough models to play 25ss scraps. You can always buy extra stuff to add to the crews, but they aren't neccessary. (TV)
http://pullmyfinger.wikispaces.com/Ophelia+Lacroix there's a guide for starting at the bottom. The above poster is correct though. EDIT: You will also want to make it known the general area you are located so other community members around there can find you and come play! Fettster
Awesome. We are getting a rule manual between us so we should be sorted. If we like it we'll get the full rules, and knowing my gaming group loads more figures. Thanks for the quick replies.
nix
@Fettster, The rules manual is actually the most complete rules available in a single book. As such its an excellent buy. The Rules manual calrifies a large set of the current rules and incorporates the errata and FAQ's that were released on both the basic book and Rising Powers. So, why would someone buy those other two books? I am glad you asked! For one, the fluff is fantastic, as is the artwork. In addition to that, the first and second Malifaux books give you access to a full set of the rules for the minions, masters, and henchmen in the game. This is a great way to plan out how to expand your crews as you grow your malifaux collection. Its also a very good way to "Know your enemy". Make note, as models are released and when some of the cards were updated to V2, there are differences between some of the rules on the cards and the rules in the faction sections of those books. The rules on the card take precedent. This is not too much of a hardship however, as the changes are rarely major, often just wording clarifications or balance changes.
