I'm fine with metric taking over with two exceptions: 1) We should remember what miles are, and post distances in both miles and kilometers here in the US. The word "mile" and its derivatives are far, far more poetic than "kilometer." Sorry, but "kilometers to go before I sleep" just doesn't have the same ring to it, as one of many examples. 2) Pints, fifths, and other alcoholic beverage measurements. I don't want 473ish millilitres of beer, I want a freaking pint. We should just change the term "fifth" to mean "750 mL" since the difference is 1%.
