Mister Monkey
I am ok...... though the day has been hot and humid, stupid weather. How about you?
Nikko Andass
It does, very -- sort of English north country sounding.
Nikko Andass
30 degrees and falling, right now -- gonna hit the high teens tonight.
Mister Monkey
Probably the same here..... but in a different scale Actually probably did not get near thirty .... but the ninety odd percent humidity made it worse then it was. Nikko Andass
You feeling any of the Black Friday excitement, Monkey? I sure ain't. <<<(my subtle attempt at "folksy-ism")
Mister Monkey
In all honesty there is not much I want, besides the stuff you get free which I wont spend enough to receive..... Though I may try get the carver if I can get in on somebody's order...... postage is not worth it otherwise.
Nikko Andass
I'd imagine international postage for NZ is even worse than for Oz. But at least you can take solace in being the last vestige of Western civilization to die out after the inevitable, all-consuming nuclear apocalypse. Yay Kiwis! Mister Monkey
Its probably about the same..... but certainly cringeworthy sometimes.
Nikko Andass
I'm working on my guild rifleman now -- working in a russet brown and tan, sort of desert palette. I think it will look good with the bases I've been using for my McCabe crew.
Mister Monkey
Sounds good, you done much painting before picking up Malifaux?
Nikko Andass
I just started up again, about a month before I found Malifaux. Had done a fair bit WAY back in the day, but hadn't touched a brush in more than 10 years. Just with some YouTube tutorials and a bit of reading, my painting is better now than it's ever been, but that's a painfully relative observation. Mister Monkey
Way back in the day huh...... what did you paint for back then?
Nikko Andass
D&D 2nd and 3rd ed campaigns -- mainly Mithril minis, but also some Ral Partha, Citadel, Reaper, etc..
Mister Monkey
Ah painting random stuff for D&D, I do miss that.
Nikko Andass
I'm really enjoying the Hell out of the Malifaux mini's -- quite a different sort of challenge from painting "way back in the day."
Mister Monkey
Yeah I do enjoy painting Malifaux..... need to get back to my giant mass of unpainted soon
Nikko Andass
I just looked at the newest entry in the "intermediate" category for the AWP challenge. If those are "intermediate" figures, I'm clearly in the wrong category.
Mister Monkey
They have categories now?
Nikko Andass
At first there was only "Beginner," and "Experienced." Now there's a middle category, "Intermediate." I moved my pics from the "Beginner" to the "Intermediate" folder, but the latest person to drop their mini's pic into that folder is far and above everybody else. To my eye, the painter looks very "experienced."
Mister Monkey
Is that the Seamus one?
Nikko Andass
Yeah, that's the one -- I think I need to go back to beginner's, if that's legit.
Mister Monkey
It is very nice ......
Nikko Andass
Do you think I should say something about it? I'd hate to be seen as a spoil sport, but that looks way too advanced for just "intermediate" work. Of course, as I said, the solution just may be for me to move my entries back to "beginner."
