Victoria
The person I did it for liked the third one from the bottom too. She kept saying it looked like an evil villain from a disney movie or a comic book, and I guess thats a good thing for her. hehe! ---------- Post added at 01:21 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:18 AM ---------- Randomly, I thought I would share with you my final project for my color theory class. The effect is called peripheral drift, my teacher said it was ambitious and I thought it turned out nicely. (May work better if you click on it to see it full size, not sure what the forum will resize it to!)

edonil
What's your rates, if you don't mind me asking? For a sketch like that, I mean. ---------- Post added at 02:26 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:25 AM ---------- Feth, my eyes! OW!
Victoria
For a head and shoulders sketch I work for "whatever you feel like paying me". For full body or additional characters, I negotiate. For a photorealistic pencil drawing, I charge $50 for head and shoulders.
edonil
What are those ones? Photorealistic, or just head and shoulders?
Victoria
Those ones are head and shoulder sketches. Sometimes I go to a 3/4 sketch if I feel like it.
Mister Monkey
And you like the concept? *grin*
edonil
Got any examples of that photorealistic style? (and yes, I am asking because I'd ultimately like to commission from you, just so you don't feel like I'm giving you the run around, lol)
Mister Monkey
Coming up with prices is the bit I dont like most about commissions.....
edonil
(nod) The one time I did it was a pain. ---------- Post added at 03:01 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:00 AM ---------- Also didn't help that the person doing the commission took forever to actually pay for it once I gave him the models. And that Black Templars suck to paint.
Mister Monkey
Yeah, I have a guy who wants me to paint Brettonians for him. Not sure about that one.....
edonil
At least Bretonnians are interesting to paint. Granted, enough of them and you'll got nuts, lol
Victoria
Hmmm. The only thing I appear to be able to find is really tiny and a bad scan that I did like... back in 2001 or something. This laptop is new enough (and I havent done them in so long) that I dont have anything scanned onto it in that style. Well, I draw better now than I did in 2001, but its a more "realistic" style, with less sketchy lines. I dont even really want to post this as an example, but it is all I have at the moment. Mister Monkey
Yeah, but there would have to be a 'horse tax' if it happens.....
Victoria
Coming up with prices is the bit I dont like most about commissions..... Thats why I charge "whatever you feel like paying me". Generally, people tend to give me somewhere around the $30 range, which always surprises me. I've been paid as low as $5 and as much as $75 or a sketch. Mister Monkey
Yeah I tend to be a give me what you want kind...... but dont take money, only models *grin*

Mister Monkey
Use the hobby to pay for the hobby *grin* Same as when I sell my stuff off, the money normally goes straight back into other models.
edonil
Yeah, but there would have to be a 'horse tax' if it happens..... Sheesh, what is with people and being convinced horses are hard to paint...I swear, it's all in your heads. Why does that price surprise you, Victoria? Mister Monkey
I never said they were hard to paint, but they are boring and I hate them *grin*
