Mister Monkey
Missus' birthday tomorrow, so whatever she wants *grin* You guys looked at the new Star Wars rules or you happy sticking with Saga?
edonil
We're happy sticking with Saga. Edge of the Empire is a different kind of a game, with a different theme. We do a lot of very martial stuff, but Edge is more a Firefly kind of a thing.
Mister Monkey
Fair enough then.... Pretty sure our TTB group is quite a martial group too *wink*
edonil
Heh, well, there is that. Part of that is that I'm not really sure how to do a completely social thing. Never really had the chance to, honestly. My Star Wars DM is the only one I've done RPGs with, and he's done a lot of epic war stories for things, lol. Mister Monkey
Fair enough, I know I would struggle with the same thing, most of my RPG's have been pretty combat heavy.
edonil
Gnome Stew has been helpful with that for me. Still going to do some more research with stuff though...my dream is to one day have a session where there's no combat and no one got bored... Mister Monkey
I have a bunch of games that are more social, but haven't really played them. Was always keen to get a game called Dread..... a horror game that was mainly social.
edonil
Hm. That might be interesting to read over sometime.
Mister Monkey
From what I have read, your character sheet is 13 Questions to help you define your character. Any resolution involves you pulling jenga blocks and if the tower falls you die.....
edonil
O.o For real? Cause that sounds awesome.
Mister Monkey
Yeah it really does.... and at any time you can automatically succeed in an action by knocking over the tower and sacrificing yourself.
edonil
That's pretty interesting, I have to say.
Mister Monkey
Yeah was designed for one shot, horror movie type games.....
edonil
I would say so... much like Tomb of Horrors. Bit hard to grow too attached to characters in a game where they're guaranteed to die, lol.
Mister Monkey
Ha ha oh yeah..... These are the reasons I would like to find a local group.
edonil
Indeed, local groups make things like that workable.
