edonil
Honestly, I'd do washes, and try to go for an etheral, shadowy look to him. But that's just me, lol.

edonil
Hey Steam, while I'm going through some retcon for the novel, any characters/ideas/plot lines you'd like me to develop out while I'm doing it? I'm going to be doing more with the two ambassadors and with Soli's lessons, just wondering if you have any other suggestions
Evilbleachman
I only really know how I will make my model's base look. Brown oil and a grey tombstone. ._.
Mister Shine
Think I got a game plan for it. Not sure if it'll dry quick enough to really be able to pull it off, but at worst it'll be missing the details that make it pop that I can just add in post contest
SteamHammer
It's all good so far so I'll leave it to what you have inspiration for. I love all the characters and how you write them so would enjoy any of the casual character building but don't want you to break up the flow of the story if it doesn't fit. What if the washes take too long to dry.

Evilbleachman
Aye. YOu can paint the base too, unless you're the kind to add it all later... :
SteamHammer
Yup. I think in the dry time I'll work on painting the base or bone spines.
Evilbleachman
You can do what I do: I pick up one of the cards I use to play with and then fan the model dry. :0 Takes longer though. lol
Mister Shine
I usually do a glue and flock for non scenic bases. eh, maybe ill just have some glue on stand by and a girlfriend with a handful of flock to throw at me

SteamHammer
My mauler is already on a make shift rock outcrop. Will coat it in pva glue before undercoating it this weekend.
Mister Shine
Should we discuss our colour ideas in thread or surprise people?
SteamHammer
See how bored we get. Mine will be fur, but I'm not sure how white it will go.
Mister Shine
Im thinking of warpfiend grey in the center, shading out towards the extremities as necron abyss (my favourite colour from any range) just tried doing it a couple times and its pretty easy and forgiving doing it wet and I can do each arm and leg separately to avoid drying issues. Should be fun.
edonil
That...sounds awesome, lol. Much more interesting than my tattered greys, blacks and purples.
Mister Shine
Hmm, first test run on regular chompy looked... disjointed Added a wash of watered down necron abyss over the grey, then highlighted everything with the grey, way better looking. The shading is more subtle, yet will still be quick enough to do (i hope) Can we prime any colour we want? Cause if I can prime in warpfiend grey I most certainly will
