edonil
Oooo. How's the kit?
Mister Shine
No friction hold at all and tons of tiny bits, so Im covered in pva glue, lol ---------- Post added at 12:50 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:45 AM ---------- Also since Im no longer worried about the horse sculpt on McCabe, Im free to use Ruby as intended: a stand in for the Pale Rider. Did a quick and dirty weapon swap so she can use her rifle instead of pistol cause it fits in line with the original more and its sweet looking. edonil
Sweet, you'll have to put up pictures sometime. And lots of glue is a problem, lol. At least it's only PVA, and not superglue.
Mister Shine
Gonna do it a pale green with maybe some black spotting? It'll be fun to paint.

SteamHammer
Typical morning. Cold and at work. Took even longer getting out of bed this morning. At this rate I'll need to set the alarm for earlier.
edonil
Yeah, that tends to happen during winter...a lack of desire to get out of a warm bed...

SteamHammer
Must be nice to have the end in sight. Any holiday plans? Off to see the family or just being lazy and nesting?
edonil
Family's coming here, actually. Holiday plans are to nest and await them, lol. I'm probably going to spend a lot of time trying to figure out how to balance painting and writing.
SteamHammer
What's on the painting table?
edonil
I've got a 40mm Crusader model from Reaper that I'm going to try painting up in greens with some freehand, the 54mm Monique, and after that, I'm hoping to see Yan Lo this week, might give Chiaki a crack and try some freehand designs on her kimono. ---------- Post added at 05:02 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:53 AM ---------- What's on yours? SteamHammer
Finishing off the Ten Thunders. Then a break from painting while I try and make some scenery. I wish I could do freehand but it always fails.
edonil
I've never really tried, honestly. Probably going to fail horribly because of how long it's been since I picked up a brush and tried anything for real. That's right, you're going to be working on the outdoor locations, right? SteamHammer
That's the plan. Of course, it could all go horribly wrong and nothing turns out to be even usable. But might as well give it a go. I've been saving up cardboard and anything else that looks like it might be useful.
edonil
What location is first to bat?
SteamHammer
No idea. Swamps, gremlin stuff. Something like that. I can't remember exactly what comes first in the book.
edonil
Woot! Clariel might be released next year! Gives me something to look forward to, along with Shadow of Freedom in March...
SteamHammer
I've not even heard of Clariel. Is that series good then?
edonil
It's apparently a prequel to Sabriel and the rest of the Old Kingdom trilogy by Garth Nix. Excellent books, even if Lirael does start out a bit annoying...
