edonil
Hm. Don't know that one. I've got the Gundam Wing ones, and Blood+. Managed to track down some of the music from Rurouni Kenshin too, but when the computer went bad lost a lot of it that wasn't backed up. Plus the Code Geass ones...not a huge fan of the series itself, but the soundtrack was fun. Got any soundtracks to recommend? I'm always on the hunt for new music. ---------- Post added at 04:39 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:37 AM ---------- Speaking of new music, the soundtrack to Halo 4 is really impressive, even compared to the previous ones. SteamHammer
For anime, definitely give the Twelve Kingdoms a go. Watch the anime too because its great. The soundtrack to Arrietty was good. Any Hans Zimmer soundtrack is fun, try the King Arthur one.
edonil
Hans Zimmer really is good, although after having heard Inception, the Batman trilogy and the Pirates movies, starting to hear a lot of similarities between his stuff...sorta like listening to too much John Williams. SteamHammer
Yeah, you definitely notice the similarities between soundtracks. Not a bad thing but does often make them blur into one.
edonil
Yeah. I'll definitely have to check out the Twelve Kingdoms soundtrack though.
SteamHammer
It feels weird not needing to paint in the evenings. It's only been 3 or 4 days but something feels missing.
edonil
Have you got anything lined up to paint after the paintathon?
SteamHammer
See if any kickstarter things have arrived. I'll still have some Malifaux models as I've been buying stuff from Maelstrom over the past few months as they've been shutting down. Or maybe I'll try some scenery building. edonil
Ah, that sounds like fun! What're you going to try for scenery?
SteamHammer
I'm tempted to try a scenery from scrap thread. See what I can make using stuff lying around the house. Of course it could be the answer is nothing good.
edonil
Eh, give it a shot. What could go wrong? *grin*
SteamHammer
Things can always go wrong. But it could be interesting.
Twisted Metal
I'm starting to run low on Malifaux models myself. I probably paint 3 - 5 models a night on my nights off and I'm starting to catch up to my back log. The new releases won't come fast enought and I've already painted most of the new plastic box sets. SteamHammer
I reckon I've got enough to last me until the new year. There's still plenty (curse you Maelstrom and poor willpower!). ---------- Post added at 10:15 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:14 AM ---------- But at least doing this paintathon has got rid of the backlog. Going from maybe 1 model a week to 3 or 4 makes a big difference.
edonil
Yeah, I would say so! Might have to do one myself in January...at least get myself through my painting for fun projects...
Twisted Metal
Painting Malifaux has never seemed like a chore... Unlike 40k
edonil
...totally off the topic, is it bad that I want to have Zygmunt skipping and whistling through a burning ship that he had his men massacre? And back on topic, I love painting Malifaux, but I've gotten some pieces over the years that are specifically 'for fun', including a couple 54mm pieces. None of which ever got finished...would be nice to get through them...
SteamHammer
I love how all the models are different. It's not the "20 skaven down, 100 to go" feeling I'd have with Warhammer. Even when I take a short cut and paint things very similar like my Kirai crew it's because I thought it would work with the fluff.
Twisted Metal
I have an entire Eldar army NIB still waiting to be painted. I'm trying to decide if I sell them off or not because I really have no intention of going back to 40k. Along side them I have a fully painted Sisters army, Ravenwing army and Fleshtearers army. SteamHammer
Sell them. Either get more Malifaux or try another new system.
Twisted Metal
I hated painting my Kirai crew for that very reason. five of this model, four of these, four if these... ---------- Post added at 05:34 AM ---------- Previous post was at 05:31 AM ---------- I don't think I'll get a new miniature system. There are a few deck building games that are fun but I've resisted picking them up because I'm afraid ill get bored with them. Dominion is one such game. It's fun but I'm not sure it's worth the buy. Perhaps with the expansions. I've also wanted to try Arkham Horror but I'm dreading the set up and I'll probably need a good tutorial.
SteamHammer
Luckily I only have the starter box. Someday I'll get some more seishin so I can play them.
Mako
Ugh, seishin are a horrible task. They took far too long for the size they are!
SteamHammer
Mine only took a while because I wrapped it around a lampost (don't drink and float). The actual painting was very quick.
