SteamHammer
Latter two. Feel knackered this morning for some reason even though I slept well. Probably just a general dread of work. Five days of working, what sort of nonsense is that. When's the next holiday?

Mako
*yawn* morning all, how's the day shift today? Typical British winter?
SteamHammer
Wet and miserable. Sounds about right. I haven't seen any clear sky today. It's been nothing but mist, rain and clouds.
Mako
Ahh, makes me miss home. I remember those long winters where you never saw blue in the sky... Been up to much steam?
SteamHammer
Not much. Finished Far Cry 3 over the weekend and started another go of Dungeon Siege 3 to play the DLC I got for that in the sale. Still working on my swamps tiles and tree scenery. Started painting a Dreadball mini last night. Archery tonight so not much else will get done today. You?
Mako
Sounds like fun, how's the archery going? I've just been sat in the house sculpting and painting, first day back at work today so we'll see if I actually manage to find work to do!
SteamHammer
Great fun but I'm rubbish at it.
Mako
Bah, accuracy is overrated. It's all about saturating an area with arrows! *grin* I quite want to learn longbow, although I reckon I should learn more than the minimal basics of normal archery first. Might be safer that way. SteamHammer
See if you can find a longbow club in the area as the techniques are totally different.
Mako
Ah, so it may not be worth learning the modern one then? Cool, that saves a lot of time! Will have to investigate when I find out when and where I'm coming back to blighty. I'd quite like to try the Japanese bow too, see what that's like. But they're huge... SteamHammer
No idea, probably even harder finding a club that knows what to do with them.
Mako
Heh yeah, I don't know that it's even that common in Japan, never mind England! Though from what I've seen, classes in Japan wear the traditional garb too so I'd have to wear the dress...
SteamHammer
Somehow I don't see them doing that in the UK.

SteamHammer
Yeah, they get upset when you wear it better than they do. :-P
Mako
I did iaido for a while, I wore the skirt and blouse. It generally caused a lot of laughing until i tucked three foot of steel in my belt. That tended to quiet things down! ---------- Post added at 03:20 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:19 PM ---------- Though I will say, high heels aren't that hard to walk in. I did drama at school many years back and learned that during panto season. Honest, that's the reason!

Mako
That was just a happy bonus. Well, happy for me. I don't think anyone else found the combination of big fake breasts, a blue dress, giant ginger wig and high heels particularly alluring *wink*

Dustcrusher
You could always try to convince your employers to let you have President's Day off... I don't have to- the joys of contracting for the government. I would love to play in the Skype campaign but I am wary of committing to much of anything right now. I have a lot I want to get done this year (fix up the condo, declutter/clean out unwanted stuff from my place, get back into shape, and of course, all the Kickstarter stuff coming) and I suspect I will be playing less for most, if not all of it. Magfest was pretty fun but for the most part I didn't get to see my friends as much as I'd have liked. I think I need to leave the miniatures at home next year and just bring stuff like Quarriors, Square Shooters, and Gloom. Was looking to try to make Origins but I don't think I can. Too bad none of you are within a few hours of Nashcon- it's tabletop centric and cheap to get into. ---------- Post added at 11:04 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:54 AM ---------- Also put together Izamu last week. Went together like a charm before I spilled my cement all over the place and sent multiple pieces flying in the process. Still missing the arrow shafts in one leg
SteamHammer
Thankfully I'm having a break from cursing and inhaling plastic cement fumes as I've finally finished assembling the Masters of the Path box. Fiddly buggers the lot of them.
Mako
Heh, I looked at the sprue when it arrived, laughed at the tiny tiny pieces (I can almost guarantee I'll lose at least one) and then carefully put it back in the box. Glad to hear its as much fun as it looked!
