Painting Blonde hair

~Hi folks

I'm really trying to get my crew fully painted for a Malifaux demo at my FLGS. I have one Ronin left to finish and one of my Viktorias to be completely done. My main problem is I'm struggling to get the blonde hair for my Viktoria done correctly. I have the full range of GW paints, does anyone have any good hints and tips for painting blonde hair

Thanks in advance

Erik

~Hi Folks

Thanks for the advice. I'll check out the links and then give it a bash tomorrow night, it will take me the rest of the night to finish my last Ronin. Then I'll just have one night to do my Viktoria. Looks like it'll be another 2 late nights for me, lets just hope I'm not too tired to go to the demo on Thursday night

no matter what start off with a nice brown and work up to the desired yellow i want finishing with a highlight of white/bleached bone. I usually go beasty brown ( same across most ranges). Eric J (our fearless leader) put up some nice info about painting hair. I can't remember where it is but it sums up to this: Don't highlight every strand. Paint the hair just like you would paint cloth and ignore the strands.

*Ash blonde - bleached bone

*strawberry blonde - basic yellow, red wash, yellow/gold/bleached bone dry brush

*strawberry blonde - a "pinky" red with yellow or bleached bone dry brush

*dirty blonde - snake bite leather with bleached bone dry brush

*dark blonde - snake bite leather with devlan mud wash, possibly a dry brush of something lighter

*bleach blonde - skull white with yellow dry brush.
