Tiny
Hey guys im going to a tourney on monday was wondering what you guys think of for some builds to do on each scenario. They are 20 ss scrap, 40 ss brawl and 30 ss scrap. You can find them here: http://www.wargamerau.com/forum/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=493 I wont be proxying anything. But i'll have the following models painted by then: Somer, 8 gremlins, 4 piglets, 1 whisperer, 1 warpig, 4 giant mosquitoes, ophelia, rami, raphael, pere, francois. Here's what im thinking: 20ss: Teeth 2x mozzie 2x bayou gremlin Pere Rami 1 ss left over. 40 ss (becomes 50 because ophelia doesnt count as a 2nd master) Teeth 1x mozzie 2x gremlins 1x warpig 1x whisperer ophelia rami pere francois raphael 1ss remaining. 30ss teeth 2xmozzie 2xgremlin whisperer warpig ophelia 1 ss remaining What do you guys think? Im fairly noob at making competitive lists so any advice is great!
Gremlin Swarm
Any list where you have Ophelia in play, use her to keep Whoops from damaging your models, and blaze away with your Gremlins. (Don't forget Reckless. Those extra shots can add up.) Also, make sure to keep at least 1 Gremlin near Som'er to keep the Git Yer Bro factory going. Personally, I'd get more Gremlins in there, but I tend to send them in in swarms (as if you couldn't tell). Don't be afraid to use Dumb Luck. If you get a decent shot in and do good damage, it can make for great damage. If you can pair it up with Y'all Watch This, you can do some scary damage with the right cards. (Just watch out for the 2" radius blast the shooting Gremlin makes.) You can also have Somer kill wounded Gremlins (or fresh ones, but I'd say it's better with wounded ones) in melee to use Come And Get It to get more Piglets. And, Your mosquito can call in friends (more mosquitoes) in a similar fashion. Basically, the Gremlins are tough to play, but they have a lot of little tricks, especially where summoning is concerned.
Omenbringer
If your going to take a Whisper you should really take more then one pig model. They work better in squadrons.
Gremlin Swarm
Squadrons of pigs... Now I'm picturing either 3 Warpigs in an echelon formation with the Klingon Battle Theme playing, or a swarm of Piglets with Ride of the Valkyries (Ride of the Valkerpigs?) for its music. Come to think of it, that second one works for a flight of mosquitoes, too. Speaking of which, a full flight of 4 mosquitoes can be pretty nasty. Just have them buzz up and use Pull My Finger a lot. You have to be careful to avoid the mozzies catching each other (as they're not Gremlins), but each can do 2 points of automatic (barring things like armor) damage to opposing models in a small radius. Omenbringer
I usually fly them in a squadron of one bomber (warpig) with two to three fighter escorts (piglets). And yes they hum Flight of the Valkyries the entire time (though they perfer the elmer fudd version).
Tiny
i was thinking of using the whisperer as a dedicated buffer for the warpig, so heal it reactivate it and sooey it. But you're probably right i could get one of the new gremlins in for that much. How have you guys found the new gremlins? Which 2 do you usually use without ophelia? if at all. Gremlin Swarm
'Spear and Magic Helmet!' I recently used the Pigapult with a Gremlin Taxidermist (both proxied). Tons of fun! I had Som'er doing his Git Yer Bro thing, but I'd have the same Gremlin do the summon twice, thus killing it and leaving a corpse counter for the Taxidermist to make into a Stuffed Piglet. Free ammo! Since I had this going on fairly close to the Pigapult, I'd have the newly summoned Stuffed Piglet use its 1 action (slow from summoning, and all that) to walk over to the Pigapult, which I activated near the end of the turn and had go to town. (Can you say 'Reckless Pork Barrage'?) I also kept a Mosquito near the Pigapult to Sooey the Piglets over to it, if need be--usually when I had the Taxidermist run out and do his thing on a corpse counter in the middle of the field. Given that it's not a Pig, I could also have the skeeter fix the Pigapult. I ended up losing that game, but it was more due to my bad tactical choices with the Gremlins I sent out to attack. (A whole lotta 'Whoops' at the wrong time.) Still tons of fun.

You will also need your skeeters to assist with this in order to control your pig charges and return them to safety due to the sequence of activations. How have you guys found the new gremlins? Which 2 do you usually use without ophelia? if at all. I will usually take Rami and Rapha. Rami is usefull as hell and I just like how Rapha looks. This picture! :twitch: And then there is that nasty "never happen"-skill that actually lets them fly! :der: Dadadadaaaaada! Dadadadaaaaada! Dadadadaaaaada dadadaaaa! Maybe you should add a taxidermist and some stuffed piglets to the "bomber"

Maybe you should add a taxidermist and some stuffed piglets to the "bomber" Oh my piggies always fly and one gets to reactivate (thats pretty much all the whisperers do for me). I use my skeeter (usually two) support models to sooey them to where they are needed (giving a bit of predictability to the pig charges) then bring them back home safely again. Have thought about running pig hot and heavy with the taxedermist and stuffed piggies added, though will have to wait until the models come out (I dont play unpainted or unreleased models). Oh and my next Warpig rider will be moded to look the part of a norse valkyrie. May be a few months though (so much to paint already and school coming up). Gremlin Swarm
So the skeeters are recon ships for the main squadron? Maybe you could put those old-school flight caps with the goggles on your pigs, and paint up the Whisperer like ground crew. Hmm...A whole crew done up as the Pig Attack Squadron. Omenbringer
Definately has some comedic value.
