Marlena's Soul Tether says, "When another friendly non-minion withing aura 6 suffers damage, it may reduce that damage by 1, to a minimum of 0. If it does so this model suffers 1 irreducible damage."
For an action like Breath of Fire, which say, "Model's damaged by this Action gain Burning +1, would a model that takes damage from Soul Tether count as being damaged by Breath of Fire? My inclination is to say no, but then there is the follow up question, if Marlena dies from using Soul Tether, who gets kill credit?
