Hi all

Just found my old gremlin models from M1.5E during a recent clear out so decided to grab the M2E rules and the first gremlin deck of cards so that I could start playing again.  I've pretty much forgotten what models I had and lost the cards but I know I had the Ophelia box from way back.  I've added a picture but it's not the best for identifying them.  I didn't play all that much before in all honesty.

I'm busy reading the rules and just signed up here to say Hi.  With all the 'new' stuff out are there any 'must have' inclusions for an Ophelia crew these days?  Please bear in mind that to me 'new' stuff is anything past around the start of M1.5E !!!!!!

On the first row you have, from left to right, Raphael, Rami, Young LaCroix.

The chick is Ophelia. The cool guy in the center is Francois. The other two in the center row, the ones with red wool caps, are Slop Haulers.

In the back you have Young, Pere Ravage, and the final Young.

Good news! You have a very competent little band there that you can put on the table and have fun with. My advice would be to get comfortable with these and then consider your options. If you wish to have something to build and model while getting the hang of things, you can't go wrong with a box of Bayou Gremlins, Merris LaCroix, or Sammy LaCroix. All are really good.

Welcome back to the bayou! :)

Thanks for the identification.  I had the main models sorted like Ophelia but knowing which ones are 'young' and not something else really helps out.  To be fair I should have known as those three have slightly darker bases and now I do remember painting them after the initial box was already done.  I'm in no rush to be getting new stuff if what is there is serviceable.  Some games revolve around the 'new hotness' and there would have been a lot of that in my extended absence.  If none of it is mandatory then I'll just play a few games first.

Thanks again

Probably a really stupid question but having done some research and reading I'm thinking that I really want Lenny to add to my options.  Does he only come in the Bayou Boss box? I understand that I'd also get Som'er which would give me a choice of masters and is probably a good 'investment' anyway despite not wanting to go too far away from the Ophelia and kin style at the moment.  It's not that I don't like Som'er it's more that I need to learn to play again and don't want too many different play-styles to master at once.

Plastic Lenny only comes in the Bayou Boss box unfortunately. To be honest though, even if you're never going to play Som'er, it's a great purchase because of Lenny and also the Bayou Gremlins, which are amazing for their SS cost.

If you scour ebay or similar, you might be able to find a first edition metal Lenny, who comes separately. You'd need to get a second edition stat card from somewhere, but a photocopy from the big rulebook or printout from the pdf are both fine, or wargamevault sells print on demand cards. Since you mostly have metals, he'd even fit slightly better aesthetically.

Also, you can play Somer in a very similar way to Ophelia if so inclined. By not taking the Summon or the Pig Upgrades, he can be played similar to Ophelia. He doesn't hit as well but can cause Blasts and his support actions are different. Also, he can make both players toss their hands.

Thanks guys.

I don't think I'll hunt for an old Lenny despite everything I have being the old metals because I don't really want to go into 'quest mode' every time I want to expand my collection.

Getting Som'er as well isn't such a bad thing as at least I have a little choice when crew building.  I remember from before when I had only a few models always getting 'out built' by players with every model available who could simply counter pick what they knew I had to take.

In other news I think I also have found a Zoraida, 3 Silurid and a Bad Juju (all old metal but no sign of the voodoo doll sadly) as well as 3 sorrows and I think a pandora avatar model.  Obviously no cards but they would have been the old ones anyway.  Not looking to use them any time soon mind you.

Not that it matters but I've now located the voodoo doll, poltergeist, baby cade and candy.  Who knew I owned so much for so many systems.....  Well anyone that knows me could have guessed to be honest!

Zoraida is a lot of fun with Gremlins and well worth a try once you get your bearings.
