  1. I am by no means an expert, but I've tried using cavatica against crews that rely on auras alot. Called out and the trigger lool away are both unique to cavatica and worth considering. Had good success with him against someone playing Toni for example- Fitzsimmons' annoying auras were effectively neutralised and I also forced staggered on to him which made it very difficult to dodge the shock wave attacks of the botanists and meredith.
  2. I still think they're decent and worth giving a try. You will have alot of actions to achieve your goals and the nerf did not touch botanists who are really excellent 6ss minions. Worth noting that cadmus have access to some great models and you don't *have* to rely on botanists- spelleaters are great and i think cavatica is a decent tech pick with nexkids. Maybe look at something like the below to start with. The nightsilk Creeper will drop 2 Web markers first activation, ready for you to grow the botanists. 3. Am I the James you have on your list Dave? Just wanted to check I'm on the list, it's James Moinet 😃
  4. More Tricksy crew finished tonight. At this rate I will finish the keyword by the end of the month!
  5. Ambitious! I look forward to seeing it, good luck! Most of all this year I am looking forward to clearing my entire backlog of unpainted miniatures- I should achieve this before the summer hopefully! I will be continuing with the tricksy keyword this month, with a vague ambition of getting the keyword finished by the end of January and perhaps using it in a tournament.. we will see. I have Sparks, 2 survivors, 2 rooster riders, 2 bushwhackers, a soulstone miner, a few test subjects, rockhopper and mecha-meemaw to paint. So only most of the keyword. However, it is all built and based, so... maybe? For now, here's some pics of my mecha-meemaw and rockhopper which I built and based today. Can't wait to get started on them!
  6. @Caedrus all of those crews are lovely. You have such a distinct and vibrant style and to paint so many models to such a stand is amazing. @TimH your Lucius crew looks great- i am planning to paint up the same keyword later in the year- I also love the look of lucius 2, he's literally a monster! @Cats Laughing Nice work on Tannen, very neat. Cool idea to use colourshift paints to represent brilliance. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the crew. @Trimasel I particularly like the Lyssas, the purple on them is really lovely. To round out the year my final model is the forgeling. I may revisit this model at some point when I've had a bit more practice with yellow, but for now calling I done. I'm particularly happy with the coals on the back of the model, of which i sculpted extra trailing behind. I absolutely needed a challenge like this to get me back into painting this year after several years of having lost my motivation. Im very much looking forward to starting again next year!
  7. @Diddick I absolutely love that Golem, the colour scheme is dark and brooding and he looks very threatening! I can't wait to get started on mine- will be February I think. For now I have two more models from my Tricksy crew: big brain brin and little lass. I had great fun painting these, especially the bases. and here is my Tricksy crew so far i have Mei Feng's totem, the Forgeling almost complete to round off december and then I'll start thinking about next month, which I think will be Sparks and some survivors. Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas!
  8. Haha, thanks dude, actually seeing your lovely, lovely Gamin last month was the motivation I needed to push on with starting this project, I have about half the crew built so far, including these ridiculous bases. Next up is the totem I think, so a bit less NMM but lots of fire and OSL to practice! Looking forward to seeing your Golem! I should be working on my own next month!
  9. I will definitely be getting in on this! I've enjoyed it this year, i've painted more models than I ever have before (almost 3 whole keywords!) and my painting has improved. I hope this year to participate in some of the competitions, if only to have a project to really push myself on rather than just speed painting everything. I was thinking I could volunteer to contribute some time to keeping this thread going with @Shock & Awe and @Gheist departure (once again thank you both for 2022) as it would have been a sad thing to see it disappear. Thank you @Hawkoon for stepping up and if you need some help to run things, please let me know - I am happy to contribute as much as I can.
