  1. Hi there! I'll keep working on TTs versatiles, and will pledge the Obsidian Statue this month for 9ss. @Caedrus the badge idea is great, will work nice as an extra motivation push, let's see what the admins say 🤞 And about other ideas for the challenge, I enjoyed when there was a little bit more than just the minis, like sharing the shelves of shame, or the favorite painters... Each month anyone could suggest a topic to be shared in the next month's challenge. Could be anything, from favorite mini, terrain, paints brand, color, technique... And the host would decide which one of the topics will be shared on the next month. Voting would be nice and all, but the host deciding just makes things waaaay easier ^^ And since next month is already 2021, I'll suggest an idea already in case the idea sticks: What do you struggle with the most when painting a mini?
  2. Hello there! I'm done with the dawn serpent (for 9ss), glad i finished it because i had the base done for a while now, and the non painted mini with the pretty base was an odd combo on the table XD After quite a lot of thought about the color scheme, I ended up going with something pretty much like the boxart... Also I recently got one of the super matt super saturated scale 75 reds and wanted to try it
  3. And here's the kitbash, I intend to use it as a Desolation Engine. I used an Adze, and a Moleman, added some bits and greenstuff A pic with his brother: And a couple of WiPs, always nice to see in kitbashes imho I got third in this category, right after @Caedrus who got 2nd, with a really funny kitbash! 😉
  4. Well, since the results are oficially out, we can definitely post it this year I participated in 2 categories, diorama & kitbash. Here's my diorama entry, the 3 little piggies story revisited. the pie machine is made from scratch with plasticard and some bits, and the pies are greenstuff, the sign is printed and weathered, no way i can handwrite those neat letters 😐
  5. Hi there, since the voting is over (even though the results are not published yet) I'd say it's ok to post here the rotten harvest entries, right???
  6. We’ve been married just for 2 weeks now, I’d say is too soon to play dangerous games XD
  7. Hi there! For november i ll pledge the dawn serpent for 9ss.
  8. @Purple Mist @Caedrus i ll print your posts to show them to my wife any time she tells me to not buy minis bc i still have too many unpainted/unbuilt ones. you two are the real heroes ❤️ XDDD
  9. @Caedrus that’s truly amazing xD Several questions come to my mind, but i m gonna go with this one: Why do you have 4 jury? 😁
  10. @bedjy i love the panda mauler 👏 I’ll do the same as nikodemus, will post my rotten harvest entry here once the voting is over
  11. Thanks! It will be a very small ceremony due to covid, but tbh, i prefer that than a massive party... About what category/es I'm entering... Wouldn't say that be kind of cheating? XD. Anyway, I think last year was just beginner's luck, It helped a lot that the rules for the entry where so specific, so creativity played a huge part, let's see this year if this formula also works
  12. 1st of all, here's my shelf (or shelves) of shame, i have to admit, could be worse: Still boxed: Built: mostly TTs, some ressers and the hodgepodge couple misaki's crew has been primed for more than a year now 😓 (I split the undiying encounter box with a friend back in m2e, and then i realised i needed a wanyudo too for minako, so i kitbashed it) built him just a couple of weeks ago and add a yasunori that's half built in a box and i'm too lazy to take it out for the pic 😬 And about my pledge for this month.... I'm definitely joining the rotten harvest, so i pledge "something" XD Also, i surely will not be able to do anything else this month, bc I'm also getting married, so I'm gonna be very busy!
  13. Very nice stuff 👏👏👏👏 @Caedrusthis NMM gold is reaaaally good 👌 @Boomstick the whole crew looks great! Congrats!
  14. I would add the "unbuilt" and even the "still boxed" categories to this showdown XD Btw, I finished this month pledge, the Desolation Engine for 10ss I got it back in m2e when there could be only one, if i get a 2nd one to play it on m3e i would not like it to look the same, so i might kitbash it with other wyrd minis and greenstuff 🤔 I usually like to work on the bases, but this one in particular is from microartstudio if i remember correctly
  15. That would work! 🙌 My pledge for september will be a desolation engine, atm i have only 3 outcast minis unpainted, this and the hodgepodge effigy & emisary. I might finish them before going back to TTs and the tons of pending minis that i have 😬 @Caedrus even if you're not hosting you'll be still around, right? Btw, does anyone else have trouble seeing images since the forum UI update? 😐
  16. This is super cool! i don t think there s such thing as too much time in a mini if the motivation is there 😁
  17. Hi there! i finally finished (i actually have to fix some cracks on the sewer water, but other than that is done 🤫) the scenic base, it has been my “sixtine chapel”. I’ve put a lot of effort here, from planning, to building and painting, and i’m glad the whole thing worked out as I expected. SS wise i think it was about 30ss, could be 100 if you ask me XDDD Here are some pics (I took dozens of pics, I have a dormant thread with my stuff around the forum and i’ll upload there more pics to avoid spamming this thread)
  18. The whole thing is coming together, i added textures, details and base coating, and i’m very happy so far. I hope i don’t mess up with the highlighting and shading!
  19. The blue roof is a bold decision & looks very cool. Well done! I cannot see how the 2 pieces merge, but to avoid the sliding, maybe using some sprue bits as stoppers? Shape them flat and texture them like the wood panels that are already all over the house, glue them inside or outside, whatever is more convenient/looks better, and paint them in the same shades of brown so they become part of the piece too
  20. This terrain piece is slow, but fun. the top bit is not glued yet, i ll do it after painting so it s easier to access the bottom part. Next step, add some details and add texture to the cork bits.
  21. hi there! some slow updates on the terrain piece, is a slow process, mostly bc of lack of practice, and not knowing the materials, but i have to say, that working with the extruded polystyrene is a pleasure, is kinda hard to carve the big holes and stuff, bc i don't know how to make it look neat , but for the small details is truly amazing how easy is to give shape. There's going to be a small piece right above the sewer bit to place more minis. Planning the whole thing was the hardest bit so far, the bases of my minis are very different one of the other and i'm trying to put them in the piece in a way that the 26 mini bases blend with the surroundings. I might end up changing the color of the ground in 2 stolen, but other than that the bases will stay the way they are.
  22. I'm still not sure what i'll do in august, since the Onis are over, i'll probably go back to finish my outcasts. I have a desolation engine and the effigy built and primed, and the emissary build pending. On the other hand, i had this project of doing a scenic base for all my "plague" crew, and in august I'll have more time than ever, and i just got my airbrush... so sounds like is the time for big, ambitious terrain pieces. I'm gonna pledge the terrain, and hopefully finish it this month. I'd consider it a 50ss Masterpiece (Caedrus named it, not me! ^^ ), i hope the result honors the pledge-level name 🤞
  23. Hi there!!! I finished the Obsidian Oni for this month! This adds up to 7ss x3 = 21 SS Been super busy this month so i went quite fast with those guys, not my best work, but i'm pretty happy with the time/result ratio Bonus: Oni Family shot That's my crew so far, might (or might not) grow in the future ^^
  24. Damn, I'm not very familiar with varnishes, but it doesn't sound like you did anything wrong, I've used the vallejo gloss varinsh several times, but never applied anything else on top. I'd say 40 mins is plenty 😕 just thinkin out loud, but maybe the unthinned matt varnish?
