Hi guys,
I haven't got to painting any minis this month, it's just not been my couple of months.
However, since I don't have a table large enough to play on in my house, I built a table that can sit on top of a smaller table to allow me to play at home. I don't remember what we said about points for it, but I hope it can count for at least 11 to keep me in the challenge.
First the table without any adornments. It uses a 6mm MDF as a base, two sturdy hinges and slats for stability. Folding it up with the play area on the inside protects it while stored. The area on either side is 16cm tall which allows comfortable space for tarot sized cards. The basing is coarse sand sprinkled on PVA and then sprayed with watered down PVA glue. Third picture is base coated with a cheap spray paint from the hardware store.
Left is table painted and ponds / swamp pools drying. Pools are a dark green with swirls of bright green in it, then two layers of watered down PVA glue with a sepia ink. The second pouring was a bit generous which caused the brown stains around some of the pools. The greenery is Burnt grass, then earth blend, yellow grass and finally a bit of earth blend again from Woodland scenics. The light is very harsh in the second picture which makes the contrasts look very stark.
Finally, the table in use at the gaming club last Thursday. Sadly, I lost the first game on the table. May have to build another one that isn't cursed... 😋
@Caedrus, I'm sorry, but I don't really remember if the table would count for any points, so I'll leave that in your capable hands. Cheers!
