  1. Hm... Befor I thought that only for triggers. But I checked rulebook, page 25 So, first you adds a mask to duel total, and only then determine who have won. So yes, you can use this ability to pass obey's TN.
  2. It's not a regular companion or accomplice. Its 12" range, and works only on witch hunters in both way. If witch hunters end activation you can activate only another witch hunters.
  3. (Beginning with the player who has the lowest value card each player may elect to reflip her card (or cards) by spending a Soulstone from her Soulstone Pool) So you are sure, that 'flip one cart' is the same that 'flip a single cart' ?
  4. @Adran In case of duel flip there is the same warning - flip one or more cart (page 16, and more detailed at page 23, 26). Ok, I was wrong, It's a damage prevention flip. What to do with a fact a prevention flip have a different warning, that force to flip a single cart? Just ignore?
  5. @santaclaws01 And what is the answer? Yes, It looks like I'm carping and event abusing, but my goal is find the most correct answer based on all details from the rule, not only "I see word - flip - so I have an answer". There are precedents in Malifaux rules that not all rules is so obvious at it looks. Let's for example the same prevent flip, if you look in text you'll see: "The player flips a single card, which cannot be cheated, and reduces the damage according to the following table " You can see the key words - "reduces the damage" so does it mean if you have an attack that damage can't be reduced the prevent can't reducу alike? Correct answer - NO, Why? You won't find answer just in rulebook.
  6. Cool, and what says standard American English, could Fade Modifiers be applied to prevent flip if Damage prevention section specifies to flip a single card?
  7. Im not sure that all so easy - all flips - affect prevent. I'm not sure that prevens is a flip Yes we need to flip a cart, but. Page 16: "When a flip is required, the model turns over one or more cards from the top of the Fate Deck to achieve a random number and/or suit. Flips are used to resolve simple situations, such as suffering damage or healing. " And then a list of flips, there is no a prevent flip. Then, page 52, title - "The Damage flip", but page 53 title - "Damage Prevention". "After determining how much damage the Master or Henchman model would take, but before applying the damage, the model may spend a Soulstone to make a damage prevention flip. The player flips a single card, which cannot be cheated " This "single cart" is a key why I'm not sure
  8. Hi all, The Brewmastes have ability to gain Swill condition that says: "This model stuffer to all duels and flips". Does it affect Prevent flip? (I think no because it not contains in flip list at page 16, but I want to confirm my thoughts) The same question for "RECALLED TRAINING" and all effects will "all flips"?
  9. It sounds logical and like true. But the problem is in - it is hidden and we assumes. Sometimes its too difficult to explain it to the people that getting to Malifaux from other table top games. As long as it is not in the rulebook the anyone can say - "It's just a homerule" and will be quite right.
  10. There is no any pile in the rules, even mode, there is a prove that in the game NOTHING happens in save time - General Timing on page 51. This is a base axiom of the game, everything happens one by one.
  11. Pfft, If we do not know something it mean that Adran did the most correct interpretation of the rules we have. It's crazy but it the most close to the rules we have
  12. It's a great suggestion, and we definitely will use it in local games untill It will be errated/added to FAQ. But no offense it is just an good suggestion based on common logic, not on the rules.
  13. That mean than Adran the most right of us. This sound really crazy and need to be errated, but the Adrans version is most close to the rules.
  14. I believe aura stops working only after model is removed from play, because aura is just an ability and we have a lot of abilities that works after model been killed but before removed from play, like 'finish the job'.
  15. to @Adran About Wong I want to say if you want to deal damage with original pulse you must declare "lighting storm" trigger in case if there is a chance to kill original target. And this sounds just terrible when an efficiency of your actions depends of what triggers you have declared. In such case I tend to keep up my henchman's position and say that blasts cant deal damage to models within 6" and pray this will get to FAQ then play in such way you told.
  16. Sorry, but it is a bull sh*t. The rules that work depends on the actions you use and ever on suit you get in duel total... It's a way to nowhere. It'd better that Sonia really deal no damage then IT. And the situation with Wong is more complicated. It have 2 triggers and pulse that is part of the action. If you are right it meat that to deal damage from pulse Wong's player must declare one trigger and can't declare another.
  17. It sounds like if there is trigger it deals no damage from blasts, it there no trigger it deal all damage blasts. And this variability scares me. (and what if I have "after damage" trigger but not declare it... )
  18. And the same question for Wong's Lighting Jumb. If Merris was killed from LJ damage, does you need to flip carts for models in 3" and does models get damage from thouse pulse?
  19. Our Henchman says though because damage to target and to models from blast is a part of one action and works at same time and models removes from play only after all triggers been finished the aura should work for all duration of the action. So blast cant deal damage in 6" area.
  20. there is a question in FAQ So, If attacker must choose in what order deals damage, he/she can choose to deal damage to Merris first, remove it from play and then deal damage to model was touched by blast
