  1. If the views on us "filthy casuals" are indicative of the general Malifaux community, I would rather stay at home, play DrunkFaux, and enjoy my time without having to put on pants. Those of us who buy models and play just to play are looked down upon, and that's okay. We get it, we aren't welcome in your little world. We aren't the cool kids. Guess we should just go make our own forum somewhere else.
  2. I remain unconvinced. If you need extra prizes as incentive for a tournament, that's your short bus, not mine. Have fun with that.
  3. I'm just stating that I cannot make events, so this is a negative in my view. i understand the intent, it's the execution I question.
  4. So these are only available to people who have access to events? Yeah, that's fair.
  5. The foundation of the initial point I had in this thread has been mudded up by forum apologists. You say I am either lazy or do not take this seriously enough to go out and make inferior quality photocopies, and that I shouldn't use models I am not prepared to have to make inferior quality photocopies for. And that is fine. Know that you are entitled to your own opinion, as incredibly inaccurate as it may be. My point is that the book was released 8 months ago. In those 8 months we have not seen a single model and THEREFORE HAVE BEEN FORCED TO PROXY OUR OWN MODELS BY NECESSITY IN THE FIRST PLACE. To compound matters, WE WILL NOT BE SEEING THESE SAME MODELS FOR AT LEAST ANOTHER 4 MONTHS, MEANING AN ENTIRE YEAR WITHOUT PLAYER SUPPORT FROM WYRD FOR THOSE OF US FORCED TO MAKE OUR OWN MODELS AND USE LEGAL PROXIES. To further add to it, THE GAINING GROUNDS RULES CLEARLY STIPULATE THAT 67% OF A PROXY MUST FIRST BE WYRD MATERIALS, AND THEN APPROVED BY THE TO/HENCHMAN AT OFFICIAL EVENTS, SO WYRD STANDS TO LOSE NO MONEY BY RELEASING PRINT ON DEMAND CARDS PRIOR TO MODEL RELEASE BECAUSE THOSE MODELS MAY NOT BE ALLOWED ANYWAY. Finally, PEOPLE ARE ALWAYS GOING TO MAKE THEIR OWN CONVERSIONS AND USE THEIR OWN PROXIES, EVEN AFTER THE OFFICIAL MODEL IS RELEASED, SO EVEN AFTER THE PRINT ON DEMAND CARDS ARE RELEASED, WYRD STILL WILL NOT GET MONEY FROM THOSE SALES ALL THE SAME. In summary, do not make thinly veiled personal remarks on public forums. Stick to facts. Facts are good.
  6. If that's what you're satisfied with, then that works for you. I am not satisfied with 12+ months of waiting for an official card that I am willing to pay for right now. We're just different.
  7. Really not looking forward to setting up 58 cards, double sided, in Corel to take them to the local Staples (two train stops and 2 miles on foot each way) to have to cut them myself when I get home. That's when my recreational activity stops being a recreational activity and starts being a job
  8. True. I don't know how you guys do it over there. Patience of a saint, I guess.
  9. I was under the impression they will not be releasing any new cards as of this time. If they want to "surprise" us with a "gift" of "good news" and announce it after the models are released, they should just announce it now and then this thread can be over. Just saying. Surprises with models are fine. Surprises with things that don't cost them money and don't make them lose money are just lame.
  10. Wave 3 models appear to be released, unconfirmed, at Gen Con Sale (not implausible, basing this on gaming trade information). Digital cards are unlikely to be released that weekend, so not until after the Gen Con orders go out. Which means no new models for a year, and no compensation in the form of nice quality cards for OVER a year for those of us who have been "making do" in the interim. Considering all it feasibly takes is uploading artwork to a server, even if they're full speed ahead on other projects in the design department, it's not like they couldn't recruit a design student to intern for a few months to handle the grunt work. I've worked in pre-production, it's largely copy, paste, proofread, send. Wyrd doesn't need people to apologize for it - they're big kids who can handle themselves on the playground. We are looking for Wyrd to apologize in the form of decent quality cardstock with full color laser printing on it. Because waiting.
  11. The people have spoken. And by people, I mean this small cross section. And by spoken, I mean agree with me. And actually it's 58 cards, because I forgot I already converted a Master Queeg from the male TTB set as well.
  12. According to my source, which is the Upcoming Releases stuff on The Warstore, the "big" release for Wyrd will be all the models that were in last year's book. Either that or I am misconstruing the projected "Summer/Fall" release date incorrectly.
  13. So I actually read through this whole thread. I still have no idea why this would be an issue of this much importance.
  14. So far, the paraphrased answer is "no, older cards only because we are no longer making Arsenal decks" Carrying around a giant book, which had started falling apart within the first week of owning from poor binding in the first place, is not an option. All I am asking for are cards that look like the cards I was already made to purchase with the Arsenal decks in the first place, that I can place inside plastic card sleeves to use in actual games. I shouldn't have to sit around in Photoshop and setup 57 double sided cards to get overcharged at Staples.
  15. Brutal Emissary... I own a legal Avatar proxy Carrion Emissary... I own a legal Avatar proxy Arcane Emissary... I own a legal Avatar proxy Mysterious Emissary... I own a legal Avatar proxy Hodgepodge Emissary... I own a legal Avatar proxy Lucky Emissary... I would only consider buying it if the actual model isn't a nightmare to build, which seems unlikely of late, so probably hunt down Somer and Peaches Avatar Shadow Emissary... I have no intention of buying it, because lame cliche dragon in uninteresting pose, but a friend has a reasonable proxy model for casual games Forgotten Marshal... I constructed one using the TTB Male kit and a Wyrd metal coffin, on top of a Wyrd 30mm base Sparks... friend of mine constructed one using plastic Rami and some spare bits Mechanized Porkchop... same friend constructed one using plastic War Pig and some spare bits As it stands now, at most, that's 57 cards we need between two people. From my understanding, the current stance is "too bad, buy our models when they are released, then you can have cards for them" I am disappoint.
  16. Consider my concerns addressed.
  17. Also, forgive my ignorance, but what is to stop someone from ordering the kit and then not using everything for an event? Mystery boxes and limited edition items fetch a good price on eBay.
  18. The details budget was spent on the chain belt, cage, and shoe buckles
  19. Original Plastic Frank is Superior Frank. That guy has character in his pose.
  20. That actually answers the question for the most part. My belly aches less when it's full of news
  21. I totally "get" LE and alt sculpts - I like Luther, probably want depending on price. I'm just asking for more transparency on the models we are still waiting on, maybe a line of text or two in the Monday Previews, spread the love around more evenly?
