  1. Apparently, none of the pictures posted. Lets try again.
  2. So, Lady J is my first and favorite crew, but as the guy I play with now is a pretty new Rezzer, I haven't used her in a while. I originally just based all my guild Models with citadel technical paint to make them look like badlands (all my other crews have crew specific bases.) I was never happy with it and decided to rebase them with some style. I will fully cop to being a mediocre painter, and some of these were my first Malifaux models back in 2.5. However, I am quick and pretty crafty (the rocks are made from a foam egg carton) and I built and painted all the bases in the last two days.
  3. Still touching up the colors, but here's what I got: It helps that the two on the right are actually glued together/overlap. As for my own earlier problem with 33: Thanks a bunch @CateranLlama
  4. Got Forward and Back during the Gencon sale. All assembled except the far leftmost chain piece on 33, which I can't figure out where to attach. It's on the reverse side of the diagram and the assembled model from the item page, so I can't really see where the glue goes. Anybody put her together yet?
  5. For some reason, yesterday all of the cards went blank. Tried logging out, logging in on a different browser (or installing it on my phone) and deleting cookies and app data. Best I got was my phone showing cards that weren't in any of my crews.
  6. Thanks, I'll forward it to him. Actually...that might work pretty well, I probably couldn't get away with three of a kind, but just by going minion heavy, it'll give him more soft targets. Again, I'm trying to help the learning curve without looking too much like I'm taking it easy (or making it not fun for me to play.) ...my first thought was that he'd grasp the killing faster than scheming so I didn't want to beat him at the part of the game he doesn't understand yet...but you may be right that also playing to kill but clearly better is actually worse. I'll bring Tara and Collette for the next few games and maybe another Sonia. My poor Lady J is not going to get any play time for a while though...
  7. I could only fit one Domador in the Henchman hardcore, but the Jury has Obey. Emissary had kicked the tar out of the grave golem (a really gorgeous paint I have to get him to post somewhere) and on my last activation, the Jury ordered it to charge Vincent. He correctly predicted that if I won initiative, I'dve killed the golem for good when the Jury activated and have ordered another attack on Vincent. As I said, this was his fourth game ever, but he's very good at figuring things out once they've happened to him. Anyways, I actually agree with you, it required luck and cards to make sure the obeys went off every time. I think it might have been just a little frustration with how much he had forgotten since the previous time we had played and having seen how bad a matchup the Marshals are for Rezzers
  8. So, last weekend I played a friend of mine who is a new Rezzer player and for our last game, he recommended Henchman hardcore. I'd never played HH before and didn't have a list ready and the first 30pts that came to mind was the Brutal Emissary, Jury, Domador and a DM. I'd been eager to put the emissary on the table since I painted it last year, but my friend is a newbie Rezzer main and Lady J seems like a NPE for him. Well...the Emissary with 4AP had him conceding by the end of turn 2. Obviously in a larger game with more scheming, locking down the center with four models isn't as useful, but for Henchman Hardcore, it feels like a pretty potent combo. My friend certainly requested I not play it again until he "found a broken combo" of his own. Just for my own peace of mind, anyone care to point out the flaws?
  9. So...this is (seriously) for a friend. I've been playing since 2.5 but have been on a general hiatus because of work and then the closing of my LGS. However, I've gotten one of my old 40k buddies into the game and he dove HARD into Rezzers (he's got a fully painted Reva 1 crew and Seamus, Molly and Von Schtook in some process of assembly.) Here's the thing, he's about a 2hr drive and with scheduling and all that, we've only just had our second game day last weekend. I think I finally convinced him to play on vassal to get more reps in, but he's only won our first game, where I deliberately ran Sonia into Reva knowing he could play the Burning game better. But as I've played out more competitive matchups, he's struggled and I wanted to ask you all for advice for A) advice to forward to him and B) anything I can do to reduce NPE (without making it obvious, he complains about kid gloves if I offer to not exploit a mistake he makes.) I'll preface this with we're both more into keyword crews rather than versatile allstars, so I'll ask your suggestions not be "just tell him to include a rider." First: Especially compared to 40k (or at least state of the game five years ago when we were both local enough for local games, nowadays I don't know) there's a lot of variety to rules and I have an eclectic mix of masters. I'm considering limiting myself to one or two crews to make it easier to remember what my models can do. I've played him with Sonia1, Tara1 and McMorning1 and I have Collete1 and Mei Feng1 crews painted during the pandemic that I haven't had a chance to put on the table yet. Is there any of these (Aside from the obviousness of Sonia being the worst in a Burning/Burning matchup) that you recommend as easier to play against? For Rezzers in general and Reva in particular. Second: My main is Lady J1 (haven't bought any of the Malifaux Burns models yet, waiting on the lady J/Tara box) but for pretty obvious reasons I'm hesitant to throw that against him any time soon. (And when I do I'm probably going to take some unfavorable schemes.) He took one look at the cards and said "why would they make a crew that just negates an entire faction?" And while I don't FEEL that's true, I've never actually gotten to use Lady J against rezzers (no rezzer mains at my LGS back then) and was wondering if you all had any cogent arguments or simply counter-marshal tactics. Third: Not really a question, just a comment, but one of the hardest things I felt (and I can see in my friend) from going from 40k to Malifaux is understanding the value of Scheming over killing. And while "you can't scheme if your models are dead" is still a guiding belief for me (you'll not my Collette still hasn't seen a table) I can see my friend struggle to grasp this. I'm going to try and emphasize this to him in our vassal games. Fourth: Any basic Reva advice/in-keyword combos I can suggest next time we play? Rather lengthy, I know, thanks in advance.
  10. Actually, as I read it, it doesn't affect her ability to attack through corpses as Ethereal Reaping is a Melee attack. Both her ability to fire through corpses and create new candles are done through auras. And as my friend is running the Reva Core and Returned boxes, he wasn't super concerned with healing or protecting anyone but Reva. As I said, I punished Vincent pretty easily with Samael and a quick charge with a Thrall, but Lampads were running all over me and Reva moved fast enough that I had a hard time pinning her down once my friend realized that activating Reva before Sonia meant I could still effectively load her with burning and scorch the soul (even if I hadn't flipped the Black Joker on it, I still came a little short of a one turn kill, but it was close.)
  11. I know, I know. This is not a "help me" request. But it was my friend's first game of Malifaux ever (my first in over a year and first using Sonia) and I wanted to weigh things in his favor. (As it is it really helped him learn how to manage Burning.) I still did okay because of scheming, but when we broke for lunch at end of turn 3, I was out of minions and his Lamps had the movement to dominate Turf War and I conceded. All things considered, I still managed to hurt him (Capped Vincent and came within one or two bad flips of killing Reva after her activation before she could turn all that burning into healing) and if I hadn't overexposed one of my runners, I might have made him work harder. (Our second game I ran Oblivion which went much better for me despite overexposing Aionius. I'm not breaking out my favorite Marshals until he's got more experience.) But that's besides the point. I was just generally wondering if anyone had any clever ideas for how to manage Sonia against similarly themed fire crews (it generally feels like she's at a disadvantage as almost none of her models are actually fireproof.) Again, I don't plan on running Sonia against him until he gets a second crew, but I'm just generally curious if you all have thoughts.
  12. I thought about that sabertooth, but it looks similar to the regular Porkchop. I'm still thinking some kind of mech (still leaning toward an Infinity model.)
  13. Just found these for Metal gamin. https://www.etsy.com/listing/867286923/cyberpunk-drones-set-32mm-shadowrun?gpla=1&gao=1&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=shopping_us_e-toys_and_games-toys-miniature_toys-role_playing_miniatures&utm_custom1=_k_Cj0KCQiA88X_BRDUARIsACVMYD-vZmkpOS2yvyrCG9HjMeqXhHEgriV0wO6UggwLxCYx2chrGRLI54IaAtK8EALw_wcB_k_&utm_content=go_1844178623_70025108352_346398487585_pla-317092176223_c__867286923_270648775&utm_custom2=1844178623&gclid=Cj0KCQiA88X_BRDUARIsACVMYD-vZmkpOS2yvyrCG9HjMeqXhHEgriV0wO6UggwLxCYx2chrGRLI54IaAtK8EALw_wcB&variation0=1537013901
  14. Tachikomas are exactly the kind of thing I was thinking of.
  15. I picked up the Malifaux 1988 boxes for Mei Feng and the Rail Golem. I'm planning on expanding the crew, but I'd like to keep the theme. However, I'm only really familiar with Malifaux and 40k, so does anyone have suggestions for other 30mm wargames to find cyberpunk models I can substitute in for Metal Gamin, Sparks or Mechanized Pork Chop?
  16. Malifaux player that is going to be running Through the Breach for the first time soon. I was looking at the bestiary for various books and I realized that several Fatemaster characters (notably the sample masters and henchmen but not limited to them) have triggers on defensive actions or without an inbuilt suit on the AV. If the fatemaster characters don't actually flip cards, how can they generate suits? I'd understand if that was one of the functions of a fate point, but you can't use those to add suits. This is confusing to me and while I understand the reasoning behind "just use their rank as flips" rule, it does seem to fly in the face of the bestiary's write-ups. Am I missing something?
