  1. I'm not sure but Ramos's ability says friendly construct. If you control Ramos is Joss for example still friendly to him? Also what happens if he summons some spiders? Who will they belong to?
  2. Haha just wanted to post Lazarus combo as well. just found it yesterday. I have played Wong. Gave Lazarus the magical effect with ooh glowy. This gave him +1 damage for 4,4B,7B, a regen and armor + HTK ignore. Pushed him in place with Trixie for turf war. Added old Cranky for +1 WP, soulstone getting and positive Def flip. Sparks gave him fast, and debuffed enemy with the condition that causes +1blast on moderate and severe. than accomplice to Lazarus. Now he can shoot his gun 4 times for 4, 4BB, 7BB ignoring armor and HTK. He can also heal 2-4 damage every activation and has a + flip for df. He decimated almost a whole ramos team in 2,5 turns (killed Ramos, Langston, Spider horde and Joss only had some hp remained before the enemy gave up). I didn't think too much of Sparks at first but I might add him to test more from now on. Relly like the lazarus + copy idea for other master than Wong. Also its quite expensive but might try a magical lazarus copying McTavish next time for 4 sniper shots with +1 damage and ignoring cover.
  3. Hello! Just played a game yesterday against Ramos with Wong, I had a fun combo (but will post that in the robot gremlin threat to avoid redundancy). managed to destroy almost the whole team in 3 turns with a little luck (Langston, Ramos, Joss, Spider horde). To answer your question wave 3 Sparks can remove the markers and in exchange buff one of your figures. Or remove 2 markers and buff 2 if you have the trigger, but he is a henchman so if you want to shut down spider generation you can use a soulstone (and get it back later with old cranky).
  4. Obviously their usefulness will be decided on the game board, but I feel like the new gremlin models in wave 3 are way too fiddly for a minimal gain. Wave 1-2 models can do a lot of things better and with less effort. Also despite of armor and such things they seem to be squishier then the wave 1-2 models. I might be totally wrong as I haven't played these figures yet, it's just my 2 cents for now.
  5. Hello guys! I'm going to play against Rasputina and she has 2 things that I can't really handle sofar. Blasts and armor :). Do you have any good advices and/or unit suggestions against her? I'm going to play Somer with enforcers and henchmen mostly, or I could play Ophelia but I'm not as experienced with her sofar.
  6. You can even mix up the 2 starter sets and play Somer with enforcers. He can hand out triggers like they are candy making the enforcers much better than Lenny can for 9SS. He also has huge damage potential with 8 damage and 4 blasts with a higher range than Ophelia (but lower Sh value unfortunately). Ophelia on the other hand has quite useful movement tricks with her upgrade and she can deal with melee focused teams easyer (she has a no randomization aura and she shoots into melee) What I would buy for starter is: Bayou boss box, The kin box, Slop Haulers, Burt Jebsen (awesome melee with trigger support), Merris (scheme machine), and maybe Gracie (great tank for Burt and adds team movement, but she dies quite fast in my games due to killy enemy teams).
  7. only used it once but i think i have played it right. It helped to hit into cover and cheat. If I want big damage I usually focus 1 or 2 times depending on hard to wound.
  8. I don't play summoning list because the gremlin faction is full of awesome figures and I want to spend my time playing them instead of 10+ of the same figures. Also if you want to play to this group's srength and use bigger hat than you then it will come down to the luck of the draw much more than strategy. I'm a fairly new player with only around 8-10 games. I play Somer in his more agressive support style (with limited success since I usually play against Viktorias, Leveticus and a very unmoveable Shenlong crew with a lot of shenanigans). What this means is that you utilize Somer's trigger granting aura. Almost every gremlin model will get huge damage potential with the ram trigger if you check the cards and they also get good defensive abilities with the mask. It will help you disable negative mandatory triggers like Trixie's friendly fire and so on. If you use Somer's ap for shooting instead of summoning he will get huge damage (8 damage + 4 blast but usually you will have to use 1 or 2 focus for it). Encourage can help aswell and you can put it on Sammy as the others said (have not tried it before but sounds awesome). You can use your skeeters as antennas to hand out trigger aswell. I also like to engage important enemies with them since they have def7, and a ml6 attack with built in + flip for disengaging strikes. Potentially they can finish off hard to kill enemies from 10" if you are lucky. As for team setup the figures I like to use are: Raphael, Francois, Gracie, Burt, Mancha Roya, McTavish for damage and Merris, Trixie (can damage with upgrade) or Slop hauler for support. You can build a shooty team or a more melee heavy team with long range Somer and/or McTavish support. Somer has a high SS count and he doesn't really need it for triggers so I like to use them for damage mitigation purposes. Bigger hat than you has a great use here aswell: it completely shuts down summoner masters . Even if you fail it 3 times they probably used all their big summon cards. Some figures I can't fit for now is Pere and Ramy. They seem like great characters but I almost always face snipers. They kill Pere rignt away. Raphael can maybe shoot once but if I use his trigger he will be one shotted right after .
  9. Trixie's trigger includes herself. It doesn't say other friendly gremlin model just friendly one. She doesn't have a def trigger, but she can pass the target to an other gremlin if he takes 1 damage. I don't play Somer summoning lists but I really like Lamo's list so I might try it sometimes. Does anyone have other fun summon list that has some utility not just mass summoning? One more trick with Trixie is to speed up your pigs or some other models (McTavish). They aren't gremlins so you can make them charge away.
  10. Burt serves the same beatstick purposes but he is more survivable with hard to kill, dirty cheater and passing the target to someone else. If you bring him you should consider Gracie aswell. Her 2 armor and healing is quite good to take the heat instead of Burt. If you use both of them Burt can attack someone 3 times from more than 23" (ride gracie with burt, reactivate gracie, ride again, charge with burt), or they can both attack someone from more than 15" (ride burt with gracie, charge with burt and push gracie into base with built in trigger). Also you don't need too much setup with the rams, one skeeter with ram aura is more than enough. Usually you will have a very low ram in your hand anyway. This single ram will give Burt a damage track of 4-5-6 3 times, it gives Gracie a track of 4-6-8 (focus might help sometimes if you think you can only hit once, to get the 8 dmg). Also Gracie can't get her activation ending trigger this way. And one of my favorites is that Burt will have an auto defensive trigger: every time he wins a Df duel he damagaes back 2-3-4 (no range on it, even damages snipers). Once I framed Burt for murder, charged him in to die but he refused to die and killed 2-3 enemies before he finally went down with his def triggers
  11. As a Somer player (not the summoning factory kind but still): Snipers are golden. What stops gremlins are armor, hard to wound (quite low min damage all around), blasts and terrifying. Zako looks good against bayou gremlins on the paper but if Somer brings liquid bravery he can turn all his bayous into wp6 with the help of his 2 totems. Than cheat from the fate deck. It will pass the terrifying quite often without draining his hand. I wouldn't count on devour quite often but it is fun when it happens. I think Yin could work quite well, if she is in hard cover the enemy attacks with double negative to both attack and damage, it is quite huge. Than if she gets into melee she can shut down half the crew with a little luck and/or damage them during disengaging strikes. I'm not sure I would use Wastrels as scheme runners because df4 is bad against the gremlin horde. Ten thunder brothers would go further for the extra 1 ss.
  12. Thanks Math, lot of good things to think about. Also a lot of models I have not used previously without their figures but recently I started to try them with proxies.
  13. Tried a game without slop haulers today it was a first. Mistakes were made and I lost to 8-4 but it was a really fun game, tried some things I have read in this topic. The game was turf war against a heavy hitting shenlong crew with 2 snipers, fuhatsu and a samurai for damage (and focus, lots of free focus everywhere :S). I had no choice but to go in because the map was fairly open so I have hired Somer (for now I prefer him more than Ophelia because the 12 range, blast and trigger aura, but it is possible that Ophelia would be the better choice in the long run), 2 totems, Fran (dirty cheater, stilts), Burt (dirty cheater), McTavish, Mancha Roya, Pere Ravage (Teamwork). I had to tie up Fuhatsu and got him down to 1 hp just for Master Yu to push them from engagement and a fast fuhatsu massacring them loosing a huge part of my team . But the next round Fran came in, one hitting samurai with red joker (14 dmg) and dropping stilts, than charging and finishing the healed up fuhatsu for good. Killing twice the ss of his cost in one activation . For the near future Francisco earned a fix spot in my teams. On the other hand I used Pere the 1st time but he was terribad against the 2 snipers. Fun thing that happened: My skeeter finished off one of the snipers after hard to kill and even flipped the trigger to spawn a new one. Never thought it will happen . My question after some of my recent games: how do gremlins deal with armor 2 other than Wong's glowy? My only answer is derp damage but it needs at least 1 very high card, a trigger and 1 or 2 focus to make sure. I guess my point with this post was to thank you guys for the Francisco tips and for the idea that teams can be succesful without slop haulers . It was quite liberating that I didn't have to bunch up around the slow slop haulers. Also I had a lot of henchman so I used my soulstones for prevention quite often to mitigate the lack of slop hauler. (sorry for the off but we have a lively topic at last and this topic gave me all the ideas for my team)
  14. Hello! Only one small rule question here . After Somer is killed, can the Skeeters still use his 0 abilities? I would guess no, but it is possible to argue both ways.
  15. I have assembled a lot of gremlin models with tiny parts but it is actually not that bad. I guess the problem for a lot of people might be the glue, most glues needs to be held at place for a long time and even than it breaks easily. I use plastic glue that melts the plastic parts and mend them together. With these kind of glues you don't have to hold the pieces together for too long to stick since they get melted together quite quick and you can just wat a little to dry again. Also in the end your model will be one piece of plastic not 10 pieces glued together, in my experience it is much more durable. Most people in my playgroup still use normal superglue and they have a lot of assembly problems also. Or breaking fiddly parts during game.
  16. Yeah I realised some of these after I wrote it's just I do not use Ophelia or Lenny too much and do not own the pigapult yet .
  17. How come? One of the things I realised rather quickly is how useless HT1 is. - you can be devoured, big minus even if it only happens occasionally - most enemies are ht 2 or higher: if you hide behind a ht1 wall every ht2 model can see you because they can ignore terrains lower than the taller of the 2 figures when calculating line of sight (cover counts the same way as for ht2 models). So ht1 cover only blocks line of sight if you play against other ht1 models. However if you have a lot of friendly ht1 models and a wall between them you can't use your support abilities on your teammates because you can't see them. So being ht 1 or 2 is the same against 90% of the game's models and even hinders your friendly los. If you hide behind a ht2 wall against a ht2 enemy it is the same if you are ht 1 or 2. So in my opinion ht 2 >>> ht 1. And ht3 is the worst because you can't hide anywhere most of the time . Do I miss something? Is being ht1 a good thing and not a hindrance?
  18. Francois isn't in front of me but he has WP 7 hasn't he? (not windows phone)
  19. Ah this makes so much sense . Thank you for the tips they will help a lot. Now I'll only need to keep raphael away from blasting enemies not both of them . Stilts is a great idea aswell.
  20. I usually play Somer with enforcers and henchmans handing them the necessary triggers in huge areas. Therefore I always bring a slop hauler to mitigate dumb lucks, I might even need 2 sometimes but never took both yet. Trixie is an auto include for me, but not because the initiative cheat. My favorite ability of hers is the lure/push, since my crew doesn't like being into melee she single handedly can keep 1-2 melee enemies out of charge distance or push the enemy from objectives. If I remember right with the right triggers she can melee hit 6 times in a turn (or 3 times her and 3 times other melee like francois). She also has the gun upgrade and with Somer you can guarantee a ++on the dmg flip since all your team is using the ram trigger. The real auto include for me is Burt however. He is the most badass gremlin ever. He can shoot alright but his real power is his melee with the critical trigger. If you provide him with rams he can get really silly. With Somer, the 2 totems, Lenny and a ram flip he can get +6 damage and dont suffer any extra damage likein case of dumb luck. It is a really corner case but I usually can get +3 damage with him. Also if you provide him with the ram trigger he is a defensive powerhouse. If you know you can defend against the hit let the enemy shoot him, defend it and shoot back -> profit . If you can't defend him give the target to Gracie. Really awesome. Too bad that Gracie usually doesn't do anything in my games, she is too slow by default and if I reactivate her she becomes a huge target with 6 hp (I usually play against big hitters or armor ignoring pieces ). So I'm still unsure about gracie. I see that everyone here likes Francois. Can I get some advice about him? I start to get a hang for how to play him but still unsure. In my team he usually just eats up my SS-es and goes down. At first I played him as a shooter like everyony else in the Kin, it didn't go too well for him, his 4 def went only so far (also 4 def is a huge target for a double blast you can't prevent). Since than I tried him in melee and he fared much better, but still after I charge in and hit 1-2 huge ones he goes down immediately. Could you guys give me some advice how to use him better? Also Lenny, he seems like a huge resource drain and nothing else. He is HT3 he can't hide anywhere and goes down really fast against 3 min dmg models or snipers .
  21. Similar question here: if you can push into base contact with something but the text doesn't say it needs to be directly towards it, can you push to its side instead on a line connecting the 2 base's center?
  22. Thanks, he is blue because if I remembered right Ten Thunders were running experiments on him in the fluff so I wanted him to be different, I always pictured him blue. Also he is a real one man army with Somer's leading, everyone fears him in our playgroup so he deserves to be differentiated .
  23. Thank you, you might be right about the bases they draw the sight a little too much, I guess now it will stay like this for them and the remaining gremlins for unitys sake. i do not want to accidentally mess up one of the models by slipping the brush during the repainting process .
  24. EDIT: Gallery is gone with the new sites so the pictures won't work. Sorry, I will post the gremlins in a group picture probably after I have some new figures painted . I can not close the topic, so it will stay in this condition for now . Hello, here is my painted gremlin crew. I also have the Somer crew (I mainly play him) but he is not painted yet. My painting is not on par with a lot of works on the forum but I have started with almost no experience and I managed to improve from figure to figure. There is still a long way to improve tho . I have seen a lot of dirty, gritty gremlin crews but I thought I will paint mine using bright colors to make some funny looking misfit type gremlin models. I try to post them in painting order: http://themostexcellentandawesomeforumever-wyrd.com/community/gallery/image/5875-11696617-1013528248665957-2942229806334664649-o/ http://themostexcellentandawesomeforumever-wyrd.com/community/gallery/image/5863-19507-1013528175332631-1738520607372942081-n/ http://themostexcellentandawesomeforumever-wyrd.com/community/gallery/image/5866-10500532-1013528171999298-5833389313526253768-n/ http://themostexcellentandawesomeforumever-wyrd.com/community/gallery/image/5876-11754258-1013528168665965-8631049201448413298-n/
