  1. Just something I noticed with the Charging one (and this may be due to the way I look at the diagram). You don't have to charge straight at a model, you can charge to the side providing you can get them in your engagement range.
  2. Forgot I'm actually away this week, so this will start on the 15th
  3. Sign ups are now being taken for the new Malifaux campaign. And as an added bonus, all the new Wave 3 models are being allowed! -Entry: $20 or free with any Crew box purchase -Duration: 6 weeks, starting 8 April 2015. Weeks will run from Wednesday to Tuesday. -Location: Games to be played at Battlestation, any time between Wednesday and Tuesday Night. -Faction Selection: 2 players ONLY per Faction (unless we fill up, then it will become 3). To make it fair, everyone that signs up will need to nominate 2 Factions they want to play. Then before the Campaign starts I will draw everyone out of a hat to select their Faction for the Campaign.
  4. Raspy Ice Golem 3 x Gamin 3 x Acolytes Theme? Yes. Nasty? Very. One of the reasons I love Malifaux is that you can play to theme and be very competitive, mainly because there is a lot of synergy in theme crews. It's only when you start to take "optimum/OP" individual models (like people do in other games) that you run in to trouble, because they don't always work very well as a whole.
  5. So I went out and got the books, because I really like the fluff of Malifaux and wanted to read them. However, due to me being the local Henchman people are now wondering if/when I will run TTB because they are interested to play. While I am quite open to the idea, I have never even played in a RPG group let alone GM'd one. EVER! So I'm really hoping that people out there can help me get started, and give me some good pointers on what to do/avoid.
  6. So I already have both 2E and Crossroads, but i am starting to get sick of carrying them around. But before I rush out and get the digital ones, I want peoples opinions on how good/bad they are. I know they are just a pdf document and they can't be bookmarked, but is that a real issue?
  7. Edited to remove content, after I calmed down. I get very frustrated at conversations like this, because I don't think some people realise how long it takes to go from idea to concept to art to sculpt to manfacutre to mass produce to release. But people are entitled to their own own opinions, and I will try to leave it at that
  8. Thanks for all the feedback and opinions guys, has helped a lot. I have always preferred the "vote for your best opponent of the day" and then they win the Sports prize (I know I said differently to start, but that was to do with having to score), which seems to be the favourite way of going, instead of incorporating an actual score in to things.
  9. You have to look at the difference between Malifaux and standard games. You don't go in to a game of Malifaux going "this is the exact list I am going to play" except in tournaments (when you can still make multiple lists), you go 'first let me see what I have to do, and then I will make a list" and that's where having a larger selection comes in handy. Sure you might not want to use Yan right now, but when you come to play a game that needs a different approach than Kirai can give you then he could be useful. That's why my Neverborn started as me buying every crew box available, so I have a large selection of models to play games with.
  10. Just something I wanted to get peoples thoughts and feelings on: should Sportsmanship be a scorable criteria at tournaments, and if so how should it be judged? Coming from playing Warhammer, I have always incorporated Sports scores into tournaments. However since starting Malifaux, I have noticed no tournaments really use it. Is that because it's not really required, or just because nobody has come up with a good way to do it? Also, if you are all for Sports scores then how do you think they should be judged? Should it be the ambiguous 0-5 score, which can depend on how well the game went for the player and not actually how much of a good person their opponent was, OR should be it a list of set criteria that you can score points for ie. turning up with all your gear, introducing yourself, shaking hands after a game etc (which is my preferred method). Would love to hear thoughts from everyone.
  11. The problem you get with Henchman Hardcore is it's basically 'kill your opponent to win', instead of focussing on claiming objectives
  12. Have also updated with the number of rounds (hopefully at least 4), and the prizes for the day. You don't need to pay entry upfront, but please comment here (on on my WargamerAU thread) if you are thinking of coming just so I can get an idea of numbers.
  13. Haven't yet man. Given it's just a Henchman Hardcore tournament and only likely to run for a couple of hours, I honestly didn't think there would be much interest from people who would have to travel.
  14. Following the rules as per the Wyrd format, it will be the same list for the entire tournament (so same Faction and Henchman). Number of games will depend on how many people I get on the day. Have updated original post with more information
  15. So you think you're tough, do ya? Got what it takes to survive the mean streets of Malifaux 'ey? Then let's see ya put ya money where ya mouth is! Starting at 12pm with a $10 entry fee, Saturday the 14th of February will see our first Malifaux tournament for the year. And for something different, it's going to be Henchman Hardcore format. The only change I will make is that round times will be 40 minutes, to give newer players a chance. If you have any questions, just comment here of message me. Providing we get enough players (ie at least 6), I aim to run at least 4 rounds for the day so everyone gets a good number of games in. Venue: Battlestation, Shop 1, 28 Bell Street, Toowoomba Phone: 4639 1999 (shop) or text 0400 708 553 (my number) Parking: There is ample parking in Neil Street Bus Interchange (which is basically next door), for anyone that wants to come from out of town. Prizes: All entry money is put back in to prizes, normally in the form of store vouchers. Unlike most tournaments, the awards will go to: -Best Overall (this combines VP, Sports and Painting) -Best General (Most VP) -Best Painted
  16. So just want to check, is it $60US or local currency? Just wondering, because in Aus a crew box alone is over $60
  17. Just letting everyone know that everything is going again. Also, to help celebrate Wyrds promo we are running a painting competition in store.
  18. What is the problem with Vassal? I haven't used it yet, but have only heard good things about it
  19. Where are you based? Are you chasing just Collette, or the whole crew?
  20. Grey plastic or smoke one? I may have one, but post from Aus may not be cheap
  21. I thought I had read somewhere that you can use the models from Puppetwars in a normal game of malifaux, if you put them on the correct base size. But now I can't seem to find where I found it, so can anyone point it out for me
  22. Given that I just got a Lucius crew, this idea just blew my mind on how to expand it. You could justify nearly any Merc working for this sneaky bastard.
  23. Don't forget to come in Wednesday and Thursday nights for social games, there are always a few people looking for a game
  24. you might have more luck putting this on a non-Wyrd dedicated forum
